Aniimo: Where to Find All 3 Forest of Falling Stars Research Notes

Sayn, an Aniimo researcher at the Polaris Institute, has a habit of losing his own work. The Rumor quest tied to the Forest of Falling Stars asks you to recover three of his Celestis family research notes from the purple woods in Breezy Plains and bring them back to him. All three sit within a short glide of each other, but one of them is locked behind a barrier that only a Celestis can pass.

Quick answer: Collect all three notes in the Forest of Falling Stars at -1608, 0998, -1483, 1000 and -1443, 0994, then deliver them to Sayn at the Outpost.

What you need before starting the Forest of Falling Stars notes hunt

Access to the Forest of Falling Stars, an area of the Breezy Plains region.
A team level suited to the area, which spans level ranges from 18 up to 25.
A Celestis in your Aniimo lineup, required for the sealed cave.
A transporter unlocked in the forest, so you can drop in near the first note.

The forest itself is dense with other collectibles, including 47 chests, 5 lumin amber, 10 ecological points and 2 pathfinder challenges, so it is worth sweeping the route rather than beelining between markers.

The notes are not laid out in numerical order on the map. Running the route from west to east picks up report I first, then research III, then report II.

Note 1: Celestis Research Report I at -1608, 0998

Open the world map, zoom into the Forest of Falling Stars within Breezy Plains, and drop a custom marker on the large tree at -1608, 0998. The marker keeps the tree visible while you move through the canopy.

Fast travel into the Forest of Falling Stars and run to the massive purple tree under your marker. It is noticeably taller than the trees around it.

Climb the trunk and work your way up the giant leaves. Celestis Research Report I rests on one of the upper leaf platforms — interact with it to read and collect it.

Note 2: Celestis Family Research III at -1483, 1000

From the top of the tree, mark -1483, 1000 south of your position and glide across the purple canopy toward it. Gliding from the leaves saves a long climb back down.

At the destination you will find a cave entrance sealed by a message stating that only Celestises may enter. Walking into it as your usual character does nothing.

Open the Aniimo menu and switch to Celestis. The barrier lets you through immediately once you are in that form.

Follow the water tunnel inside the cave until it opens out. Celestis Family Research III is lying on the ground next to a pile of star fruit. The note itself is described in-game as a record of the traits of the Celestis family.

Note 3: Celestis Research Report II at -1443, 0994

Leave the cave, open the map again and mark the hill to the east at -1443, 0994. This is the shortest leg of the route.

Run and glide up the hillside, past the flowers and trees, until you reach the top of the rise.

Look for a large nest sitting on the grass with Starines around it. Celestis Research Report II is at the nest — grab it to finish the collection objective.

Deliver the notes to Sayn and confirm the quest is done

With all three notes in your bag, travel to the Outpost and speak to Sayn. Handing over the Celestis family research completes the delivery objective, which is the second and final step of the Rumor.

You know it worked when the first objective ticks over from “Find the research notes scattered around the Forest of Falling Stars” to the delivery step, and then clears entirely once the dialogue with Sayn ends. If the collection objective has not updated, one of the three notes is still on the ground — the cave pickup is the one most often missed, since it stays invisible until you switch to Celestis.

Sayn’s notes turn up across the continent of Idyll rather than in one place, so the Forest of Falling Stars set is only part of the wider recovery effort. Keeping a Celestis in your lineup while you explore is a reasonable habit, given how the forest gates one of its pickups behind that form.
