Skins in Roblox Animal Hospital are cosmetic redesigns for each playable class. They change how your character looks and nothing else, so a skin never alters speed, tools, or how a class performs on shift. Every skin is tied to a specific class and bought with Animal Coins inside the class shop.
Quick answer: Open the Classes shop in the lobby, pick a class, press the Skins button above its model, and buy the skin you want with Animal Coins. The skin equips on that class immediately after purchase.
How to buy and equip a skin
E to open the Classes shop. The menu shows a class model in the center with its options around it.
You know it worked when the Animal Coins cost is deducted and the class model updates to the new look. The skin then stays applied to that class the next time you play.

Note: The Intern, Paramedic, Doctor, Secretary, and Surgeon each have a single skin available right now, so there is no second option to unlock for those roles yet.
Which classes still lack unique skins
Not every role has a fully distinct redesign. As of the June 26, 2026 update, the Secretary, Paramedic, Doctor, and Surgeon are the classes without their own dedicated skins, and any listing for them reflects a classic default look rather than a new design. Skins are also reworked over time, so a look you own can change appearance after an update while staying tied to the same class.
Because these cosmetics only affect appearance, there is no gameplay reason to prioritize one over another. Buy whichever fits your budget of Animal Coins, and check the in-game shop first if a price or design looks different from what you expected, since the shop is always the current source of truth.
