Anime Expeditions: How to Get, Forge, and Reroll Equipment

Where each piece drops, which units it fits, and how the Armory turns scraps into upgrades and stat rerolls.

Equipment in Anime Expeditions gives every unit a guaranteed stat boost, and the best pieces add passives that reshape how a unit fights. There are two kinds. Standard equipment works on anyone, while unit equipment locks to a single character and only unlocks once that character has been evolved. Knowing where each piece drops, which attack type it should support, and when to spend rerolls is the whole game.

Quick answer: Farm standard gear from Stage 5 of any world on Hard, farm unit-specific gear from Mastery stages and Raids (5% chance with a 20-run pity), match physical units to physical damage gear and magical units to magical damage gear, then build the Armory Forge in Expedition Mode to craft exclusives and reroll stats only after it is fully upgraded.

Standard equipment vs unit equipment

Every unit has multiple gear slots in its loadout, and all slots open up before you reach Expedition Mode at level 20. Standard pieces are the reliable filler that keeps early units strong. Unit equipment usually outperforms them because of the passive attached, but you cannot equip it until you have both unlocked the unit and evolved it. An empty slot is always weaker than a filled one, so equip whatever you have while you hunt the exclusives.

Where to farm standard equipment

Basic equipment drops from Stage 5 of any world in Story Mode on Hard difficulty. Each world drops one standard piece, and higher worlds hand out stronger gear, so push forward rather than grinding old stages once you outgrow their loot. Some Story stages drop two pieces at once, and those duplicates can be sold or converted into crafting resources.

EquipmentStatsMap
Kunai+1% to +10% Damage, -1% to -5% SPASchool Grounds
Katana+1% to +10% Physical DMG Dealt, +1% to +5% DamageFlower Forest
Magic Orb+1% to +10% Range, +1% to +5% DamageRose Kingdom
Warrior’s Axe+1% to +10% Physical DMG Dealt, -1% to -5% SPAFairy King Forest
Magic Book+5% to +20% Magical DMG DealtKing’s Tomb
Shinigami Sword+5.41% Critical Chance, +3.28% Damage; Damage +0.84% per enemy in range (max 15)TBA

The Shinigami Sword is the standout among standard gear. Its passive scales damage with the number of enemies in range, so it shines on units sitting at chokepoints or in dense waves.

Match equipment stats to the unit’s attack type

Stat matching decides whether a piece pulls its weight. Physical units should carry physical damage boosters like the Warrior’s Axe or Kunai, while magical units should carry magical damage boosters like the Magic Book. Putting magical gear on a physical attacker (or the reverse) wastes the boost, so read the unit’s attack type before you commit gear to a slot.

How to get unit-specific equipment

Unit equipment comes from Mastery stages of the matching world, from Raids, or from the Armory Forge in the Expedition Hub. Mastery and Raid drops carry a 5% chance with a 20-run pity, meaning the piece is guaranteed after 20 runs if it has not dropped sooner. Raids also supply the materials and currency you need for certain unit gear, such as Spirit of the Moonblade and Hair Bells from the Spirit City Raid. Remember that the unit must be evolved before the personal slot even opens.

Several unit pieces come from the Limited Villain Event Shop instead of maps. Those include the Dark Scepter for Dark Mage (Sovereign), the Illusion Crow for Crow (Black Fire), the Memory Pendant for Cursed Immortal (Black Sun), and the Predator’s Skull for Razorjaw (Hunter).

Passives worth building around

A passive is only strong when your team can trigger it. Bleed, Burn, and Slow all feed specific pieces, so pair the gear with a lineup that supplies the right status.

EquipmentPassive
Promise RingSpirit Bats: every 20 Bleed stacks in range summons a Bat Spirit (max 3) dealing 25% of current damage per attack, despawning after 3 attacks
Technique AmplifierCrumble Away: applies Slow by attack type (Explode 20%, Blast Away 35%, Twist 50%, Crush 65%)
Hell’s FlowerRadial Flames: a stopped Burn tick in range converts into Austere Flames for 85% of current damage
Emperor’s AttireWildfire: applying Burn spreads it to the 5 nearest enemies without Burn
Calamity’s EyePuppet Creation: a killed Puppet-Marked enemy spawns a Doll with 200% of current damage as health
Spirit of the MoonbladeAdaptation: permanent +10% Damage and +10% Critical Chance for each new enemy type attacked
Hair BellsDemonic Presence aura plus a stun-cleansing Thunderclap Cut follow-up at 125% of current damage
Elven Battle StaffArcane Spells: charge-based AoE casts at 3, 5, and 7 charges scaling to 150% current damage

Note: The Calamity’s Eye is the best equipment for Pepput (Puppet). Its passive raises Doll health to 200% of current damage, up from the base 150%, on top of the damage and range boost.

Upgrade the Armory and Forge in Expedition Mode

The Armory lives in Expedition Mode and has three upgrade levels. Upgrading it costs equipment scraps and other expedition materials that drop from Expedition stages. The Armory Forge is where you craft the exclusive unit gear listed above, using rare and expensive materials, and where rerolls happen once the building is ready.

Reach Expedition Mode at account level 20 and open the Expedition Hub. Run the Expedition stages to collect Equipment Scrap and Fuel Cell, plus the world-specific materials Cursed Timber, Lush Dirt, and Aqua Shard.
Spend those scraps and materials to build and then fully upgrade the Armory through all three levels. Convert duplicate Story gear into resources instead of letting it sit unused.
Use the Armory Forge to craft any high-tier exclusive you could not farm from a Mastery stage, then reroll only your max-level, best-in-slot pieces.

How to reroll equipment stats

Rerolling changes the substats on a piece, and the swing between a low and high roll can be large. Equipment Reroll items come from Daily and Weekly Challenges and from the Gold Shop at 2,500 Gold each. An Equipment Lock preserves one substat while you reroll the rest, which is how you protect a good stat from being lost.

Save your rerolls until the Armory is fully upgraded and the item is one you plan to keep long term. Do not spend them on weak or bench gear. Prioritize main DPS pieces first, lock the strongest stat if one already rolled high, and stop chasing perfect numbers too early.

Equipment Reroll (Challenges)Daily and Weekly ChallengesFree reroll items
Equipment Reroll (Gold Shop)2,500 Gold eachDirect purchase

Get the farming order right, and the rest falls into place. Fill every open slot with current-map gear for a free power gain, chase exclusive pieces for your top carries, and only then pour rerolls into your strongest items once the Armory can support them. That sequence keeps units growing without wasting scraps, Gold, or the pity runs you have already banked.
