The Webbed Fruit is a Secret, Unit-type Equipment tied to one character in Anime Expeditions. It belongs to String Demon (Awakened), the evolved form of String Demon, and it arrived with the Release Update (0.0) on July 17, 2026. Its value comes from a passive that trades the unit’s default ability for reliable crowd control plus a delayed damage burst.
Quick answer: Farm the Rose Kingdom Mastery Act for a 5% Webbed Fruit drop, with a guaranteed drop by your 20th clear. It can only be equipped after you evolve String Demon into String Demon (Awakened).

Where the Webbed Fruit drops
The Webbed Fruit comes from Rose Kingdom, the third Story stage in the game. Rose Kingdom is split into five Acts, an Infinite Act, and a Mastery Act. Only the Mastery Act, the final one, can drop this Equipment. Clearing the earlier Acts or the Infinite Act will not produce it.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Source stage | Rose Kingdom (Story stage 3) |
| Required Act | Mastery Act |
| Drop chance per clear | 5% |
| Pity | Guaranteed within 20 Mastery clears |
You can grind the Mastery Act at any point, even before you own the unit that uses the drop. Because a pity counter caps the grind at 20 clears, the worst case is bounded rather than open-ended.

Add to Google Preferences →Stats and the Cocoon of Carnage passive
The Webbed Fruit rolls two substats when it drops, and both values are randomized. You can adjust them afterward with Equipment Rerolls if you want a stronger roll.
| Substat | Range |
|---|---|
| Range | +1% to +10% |
| SPA (attack speed) | -1% to -5% |
The Equipment grants Cocoon of Carnage, which completely replaces String Demon (Awakened)’s original passive. It works on a five-attack cycle:
- Every five regular attacks, all enemies hit are Cocooned.
- A Cocoon holds an enemy until it takes 10 hits or five seconds pass, whichever comes first.
- If the Cocoon breaks after 10 hits, it deals 125% of the unit’s current damage.
- If the Cocoon survives the full five seconds without breaking, it despawns and deals no bonus damage.
The lower SPA speeds up attacks, and the added Range widens coverage, so the unit reaches the 10-hit break window more consistently. Combined, the faster cadence, extra range, and built-in stun make this the strongest Equipment choice for String Demon (Awakened).
Evolve String Demon to equip it
Owning the Webbed Fruit is not enough on its own. It only fits String Demon (Awakened), so the base String Demon must be evolved first. Gather the following materials before opening the evolution interface.
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Joker of the Nonsensical Pirates (from the Strings of Captivity Unit Trial) | 1 |
| Yellow Sprite | 20 |
| Pink Sprite | 20 |
| Rainbow Sprite | 1 |
| Gold | 5,000 |
Once every requirement is met, confirm the evolution to unlock String Demon (Awakened). After that, the Webbed Fruit becomes equippable and you can attach it from the unit’s Equipment slot.
How to confirm it is working
With the Webbed Fruit equipped on String Demon (Awakened), the unit’s default passive no longer appears in play. Instead, enemies get Cocooned on every fifth attack and are stunned, and a Cocoon that reaches 10 hits detonates for the 125% damage burst. If you still see the original passive triggering, the Equipment is not slotted, or the unit has not been evolved into its Awakened form yet.
