Raids are the high-difficulty branch of Anime Expeditions, sitting alongside Story mode but swapping in tougher maps, unique bosses, and stage-wide enemy modifiers. Clearing them is the fastest path to Raid Tokens, exclusive unit drops, and the reroll materials most players run short on. Everything below covers what unlocks the mode, how to enter it, and exactly what each act pays out.
Quick answer: Reach Player Level 25, open the Areas menu, select the Gamemode tab, click Raids, press E, then start matchmaking or run it solo.

Unlock requirement: Player Level 25
Raids stay locked until your account hits Player Level 25. There is no separate key item or quest gate. Player level rises from ordinary play, so you unlock the mode simply by progressing through the game.
You gain Player EXP through several activities, and any of them counts toward the level 25 threshold:
- Playing Story or Expeditions runs
- Summoning units
- Completing quests

How Raids are structured
Every Raid map is split into three acts. Each act introduces its own boss and its own set of stage effects, which are modifiers applied to the enemies you fight. Beyond the standard item drops, every act awards Raid Tokens, and each stage has a chance to drop a unit exclusive to that Raid. Higher difficulty raises the odds of pulling those exclusive units, so climbing difficulty is the main lever for rare drops.
Tip: Fit your units with strong traits before queuing. The stage effects push enemy stats and survivability well above Story-mode levels.
Spirit City Raid rewards by act
The Spirit City Raid pays out a fixed base of currency and EXP on every act, plus act-specific chance-based drops. Percentages in brackets are the drop rate, and the pity number is the guaranteed drop after that many clears.
| Act | Boss | Chance drops | Fixed rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Glam Reaper | Hair Bells (5%, 20 Pity), Spirit of the Moonblade (5%, 20 Pity), Shionigami Sword (2.5%) | Gem 125x, Raid Token 10x, Spirit Token 10x, Gold 125x, Unit EXP 1000x, Player EXP 145x, Bunny Candy 2x |
| 2 | Silver Serpent | Reaper (5%, 20 Pity), Shinigami Sword (3%) | Gem 125x, Raid Token 15x, Spirit Token 15x, Gold 125x, Unit EXP 1000x, Player EXP 145x, Bunny Candy 2x |
| 3 | Berserker | 8th Sword (1%, 35 Pity), Shinigami Sword (3.5%) | Gem 125x, Raid Token 20x, Spirit Token 20x, Gold 125x, Unit EXP 1000x, Player EXP 145x, Bunny Candy 2x |

Stage effects you will face in each act
Stage effects are enemy modifiers that stack difficulty on top of the boss fight. Sprinter and Tank appear across all three Spirit City acts, while the other effects change per act.
| Effect | What it does | Appears in |
|---|---|---|
| Sprinter | 45% faster but 20% less health | Acts 1, 2, 3 |
| Tank | 20% slower but 20% extra health | Acts 1, 2, 3 |
| Immunity | Immune to crowd control effects | Acts 1, 2, 3 |
| Bulwark | Every 10 seconds, immune to damage for 3 seconds | Act 1 |
| Retaliation Counter | Every 20 hits, stuns all units for 2 seconds | Act 2 |
| Greed | Every 10 seconds, steals 10% HP of all nearby enemies within 5 range | Act 3 |
Raid Tokens and the Raid Shop
Raid Tokens are the mode’s dedicated currency, and they are spent in the Raid Shop. This shop does not refresh its stock like the standard shops. Each item has a hard purchase limit, so once a slot sells out, it stays out. That makes the shop the most efficient way to build up reroll materials, especially for gearing up equipment quickly.
| Item | Cost | Purchase limit | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sprite (Grey) | 5 Raid Tokens | 100 left | A simple grey sprite; the foundation for all sprites |
| Trait Crystal | 10 Raid Tokens | 50 left | Rerolls a unit’s Trait |
| Stat Reroll | 10 Raid Tokens (3x for 10) | 10 left | Rerolls a unit’s stat potential |
| Stat Lock | 10 Raid Tokens | 10 left | Locks a unit’s stat potential while rerolling |
| Equipment Reroll | 10 Raid Tokens (3x for 10) | 10 left | Rerolls an equipment’s stat potential |
| Equipment Lock | 10 Raid Tokens | 10 left | Locks an equipment’s stat potential |

How to confirm the mode is unlocked
You know Raids is available when the Raids entry becomes selectable under the Gamemode tab and pressing E opens the Raids menu with matchmaking and solo options. If the option is greyed out or missing, your Player Level is still below 25. Keep running Story, Expeditions, summons, and quests until you cross that threshold, then repeat the entry steps above.
Once you are in, prioritize climbing difficulty on each act. The base currency and EXP stay the same, but higher difficulty is what improves your chance at the exclusive Raid units and the rarer weapon drops like the 8th Sword.
