Apathetic Savior is the Persona 3 crossover unit added to Anime Vanguards in Update 14.5, released on August 11, 2026. The in-game design is based on Makoto Yuki, and the unit sits at Secret rarity with a Fire element. To own it you have to run the new Lunar Bridge Dungeon and clear its hardest floor, then feed it a specific set of evolution items to unlock its stronger Door form.
Quick answer: Clear Floor 11 of the Lunar Bridge Dungeon for a 10% drop chance at Apathetic Savior (guaranteed on the 10th clear), buy a Universe Arcana for 500 Controller Tokens in the dungeon shop, then evolve at the Evolve area using 1 Universe Arcana, 30 Green Essence, 50 Blue Essence, 5 Rainbow Essence, and 50,000 Gold.

Apathetic Savior (Door) stats and costs
The Door form is the evolved state you place on the field. Its damage number looks modest for a Secret unit because Makoto is built around team buffs and control rather than raw single-target output.

Apathetic Savior only drops from the final floor of the Lunar Bridge Dungeon, so you need a team strong enough to clear it repeatedly.
You will know the unlock worked when Apathetic Savior appears in your unit inventory after the run.
How to evolve Apathetic Savior into the Door form
Once the base unit is in your inventory and you have a Universe Arcana in hand, the evolution is a single trip to the Evolve area with the right materials.
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Universe Arcana | 1 |
| Green Essence | 30 |
| Blue Essence | 50 |
| Rainbow Essence | 5 |
| Gold | 50,000 |
What Apathetic Savior does on the field
Makoto is a support and control anchor. His value comes from stacking team-wide damage, powering up Demon Controller allies, and running a one-time emergency mechanic that can stop a collapsing lane.
| Passive | Effect |
|---|---|
| Disturbing the Peace | Demon Controller allies gain 80% crit rate, including Ichigo. |
| Dual familiar access | Can equip a demon familiar and a normal familiar at the same time. |
| Chosen Savior | Gains 30% damage when equipped as a demon familiar. |
| Active ability burn | Active damage applies burn equal to 5% of Makoto’s damage over 8 seconds; cannot add burn past 5 stacks. |
| Lunar Cycle | Gains 1 stack for 30 seconds when he or a Demon Controller ally uses an active (max 8 stacks). Each stack gives all allies 10% damage, up to 80%. |
| Lunar Cycle (crit) | Each stack also grants Demon Controller allies 10% crit damage, up to 80%. |
His first active is not fixed. The offensive options come from whichever demon familiar is equipped, so familiar choice directly changes his attacks. A larger active menu runs on mana that regenerates each second and can be automated, including a buff that grants 60% crit damage and 50% damage for 30 seconds.
Final Stand Against Death and the zero-life rewind
Final Stand Against Death is Makoto’s headline mechanic, and it can be used once per match. For 60 seconds, enemies cannot damage the base. Any enemy inside his range, or entering it, is trapped there for the duration and can only be hit by Makoto, which locks every other placed unit out of those targets.
When the effect ends, you gain three armored life stocks, all currently placed allies gain 50% damage, and Makoto sells himself with no placement refund. Because he leaves the field afterward, hold this for the final dangerous wave whenever you can.
The same state triggers automatically if you hit zero life stocks while Makoto is on the field. In that case all enemies are rewound by 30 seconds, Makoto moves to the first enemy, and Final Stand Against Death activates, turning him into a recovery button as well as a manual control tool.
Note: Final Stand Against Death is single-use per match. A manual activation spends the same resource the zero-life rescue would use later, so you cannot get both in one run.
Best pairings and familiar setup
Demon Controller allies are Makoto’s strongest partners because they receive both the crit-rate boost from Disturbing the Peace and the crit-damage scaling from Lunar Cycle. Ichigo in particular benefits from the crit-rate side, so older Demon Controller lineups are worth re-testing with Makoto fielded.
For familiars, Harpist or Chosen Savior equipped as Makoto’s familiar adds 40% damage to all allies and raises familiar drop rates in the Lunar Bridge Dungeon by 30%. A separate Final Stand line increases active ability damage by 50% while Final Stand Against Death is active and adds a 1,000% Makoto damage boost, making the familiar and Memoria choice a real factor in how much you get out of his one match-saving window.
Even without Demon Controller units, Makoto still earns a slot through all-ally scaling, double familiar flexibility, and the Final Stand safety net. He is best run as a support anchor rather than a replacement for a main carry, letting your existing damage dealers punch above what his own attack line suggests.
