The Candy Ball is Boo’s Vanguard familiar in Anime Vanguards, and it is locked behind a single stage rather than a random drop table. There is no summoning it, no crafting it, and no trading path around the requirement. You beat one specific trial, and it is yours.
Quick answer: Evolve Boo into Boo (Evil), then clear the Boo (Evil) Trial on Normal difficulty in Land of the Gods. The Candy Ball drops at a 100% rate on a successful clear.
Candy Ball familiar stats and which units can equip it
Candy Ball is a Vanguard-rarity familiar with a 3000% damage value. It is unit-locked, so it will not attach to anything outside Boo’s evolution line. If you have not evolved Boo yet, the familiar sits in your inventory unusable.

Add to Google Preferences →Requirement: Get Boo and evolve him into Boo (Evil)
The trial will not unlock for you until Boo (Evil) is on your account, which means two separate grinds before you even see the Candy Ball reward screen.
Boo himself is a Secret unit that cannot be pulled from banners. He comes from a secret portal that spawns at roughly a 2% chance when you clear acts in the Martial Lands story stages and Legend Stages. When it triggers, you get an on-screen notice that a god portal has opened, and the portal appears at the end of the path. The portal itself is 20 waves long, and finishing it guarantees Boo.
Once Boo is yours, head to the Evolve area in the lobby and feed him the following materials.
| Material | Amount | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Mojan Essence | 12 | Land of the Gods Legend Stage (act 3) |
| Green Essence | 40 | Crafting or challenges |
| Pink Essence | 20 | Crafting or challenges |
| Red Essence | 12 | Crafting or challenges |
| Blue Essence | 12 | Crafting or challenges |
| Rainbow Essence | 2 | Crafting or challenges |
| Gold | 30,000 | Story mode, Legend Stages, Battle Pass |
| Takedowns | 5,000 | Accumulated across matches |
Evolving also opens up Boo’s transformation line, which is why the familiar’s exclusivity list is so long. Super Boo, Bootanks, Bookolo, Boohan, and Kid Boo all count as valid holders once the familiar is equipped.
How to run the Boo (Evil) Trial in Land of the Gods

Equip the Candy Ball to Boo (Evil) and confirm it worked
Open the Familiars menu after the run. Candy Ball will show up there with its Vanguard tag, the 3000% DMG line, and the list of Boo forms it can attach to. Select Boo (Evil) and equip it.
You know it stuck when the familiar shows as equipped on Boo (Evil) in the menu and travels with him through his transformations in a match. If the equip option is greyed out or the unit is not listed, you are still holding base Boo rather than the evolved version.
Why the Candy Ball does not drop
The reward is guaranteed on a clear, so a missing Candy Ball almost always comes down to one of three things.
- The run failed. Partial progress pays nothing, and overshielded enemies are the usual reason a team stalls.
- You queued a different trial or a different map. The reward panel must read Candy Ball before you start.
- Boo was never evolved, so the trial is not available to run in the first place.
Because the drop is fixed at 100%, there is no reason to farm the trial repeatedly. One clean clear finishes it, and the rest of your time is better spent stacking the damage and support units that make that single run survivable.
