Apple iPad Original New Update: Schedule, Start Times & Next Countdown
The New Update event is the moment each fresh batch of changes goes live in Apple iPad Original. It is a recurring drop rather than a one-off: every cycle the game reopens with whatever Digital Fun Games has been building, and players pile back in to see what has changed. The game has already gathered about 39,000,000 visits and sits near about 150,000 favorites, with a steady crowd of about 3,300 players exploring it at any given time.
These updates do not arrive at random. A new one lands on a roughly twelve-day rhythm, so the pattern is easy to plan around even before the next date is posted. The next update is set for Friday, November 20 at 6 PM ET, and the countdown along with the usual release windows sit on the card below.

How often the updates land
New Update runs on a every ~12 days cadence — a fresh drop about every twelve days. It has gone live 2 times so far, and it keeps returning on the same clock, so missing one simply means catching the next.
Releases tend to open in one of two time-of-day windows, listed below in Eastern Time alongside the major world zones. The two slots exist so players everywhere — not just North America — can catch a drop close to a reasonable hour for them.
| Window | US (ET) | UK | Central Europe | India | Japan | Australia (AEDT) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Friday slot | 6:00 PM Fri | 11:00 PM Fri | 12:00 AM Sat | 4:30 AM Sat | 8:00 AM Sat | 10:00 AM Sat |
| Sunday slot | 6:25 AM Sun | 11:25 AM Sun | 12:25 PM Sun | 4:55 PM Sun | 8:25 PM Sun | 10:25 PM Sun |
The next date shown is our best estimate based on that twelve-day rhythm rather than a fixed announcement; we confirm it here once Digital Fun Games posts the update. Either way, the windows below hold steady, so you can pencil it in now.
What a new update brings
Each New Update refreshes Apple iPad Original in place the moment it goes live, with new content to unlock and fresh reasons to log back in. Digital Fun Games tends to keep the specifics quiet ahead of launch, teasing only that “new things” are on the way, so the full list reveals itself when the update opens rather than beforehand.
If you have played through a previous cycle, expect the same shape each time: the world updated as it stands, with the latest additions front and center when you jump in. The best way to see what landed is to join right after the window opens.
Tips for catching it
- Pick whichever window lands at a sensible hour for you — the Friday evening slot suits the Americas, while the Sunday morning ET slot falls in daytime or evening across Europe, India, Japan, and Australia.
- Set a reminder for the next date shown on the card; drops open right on their window.
- Jump in soon after the update goes live, while the community is online and exploring the new content together.
- If you miss a cycle, there is no need to rush — another update follows about a week and a half later.
How it fits the game’s rhythm
New Update is the backbone of Apple iPad Original’s event calendar. It has shared the schedule with other limited-time happenings such as Admin Abuse, which has since wrapped, but where those come and go, the update cycle is the constant: it keeps returning roughly every twelve days, giving regulars a dependable reason to check back in.
