Raider Logbooks are small booklets that turn into research progress back at your base. They sit in the Research Item category, carry an Uncommon rarity, and are easy to walk past if you do not know what they feed into. Grab every one you see, because a single loaded run can push you well through the research tree.

Quick answer: Raider Logbooks only drop from Raider containers — Raider Caches, Ammo Crates, and Medical Bags. Each one is worth 100 Research Points at the Research Station, and you need 3 to reach Station Level 2.

What the Raider Logbook is and what it does

The Raider Logbook is a Tier 2 (green) research material tied to the Raider loot category. It weighs 0.5 and stacks up to 5. Its real value is not in selling it — turning one in at the Research Station grants 100 Research Points, which you spend on Blueprint, Amplification, and Design research.

There is also a hard gate attached to it. Upgrading your Research Station to Level 2 costs 3 Raider Logbooks, and that upgrade is what unlocks Weapon Amplification. If you are trying to tune weapons early, these booklets are the bottleneck, so stash every one straight into your backpack rather than dropping it for filler loot.

If you want to sell one instead of using it, the Raider Logbook has a sell value of 640.

Which containers drop Raider Logbooks

Raider Logbooks never appear in generic scenery loot. They are locked to Raider-affiliated containers, so sweep those first and ignore everything else when you are specifically hunting booklets.

  • Medical Bags
  • Weapon cases and raider backpacks

These containers do not spawn in the exact same spot every match, which is why chasing individual pins is unreliable. The consistent approach is to memorize rooms that always pack several of these containers together.

Best locked rooms to farm Raider Logbooks

Locked Rooms are the fastest way to stack logbooks, because they almost always hold a mix of Medical Bags and Ammo Crates behind one or two doors. A few spots give you near-guaranteed pulls every run.

Pendola Pass Snow Shelters

The Snow Shelters on Pendola Pass always contain one Medical Bag and one Ammo Box, which puts two Raider Logbooks within easy reach each visit. Luck permitting, the same shelters can also hold Insulation Rolls, Laser Levels, and other high-value materials, so they are worth a detour even on a non-logbook run.

Riven Tides Classified Records room

The Classified Records Loot Room on Riven Tides sits behind two doors you open one after the other, and the payload inside is dense: at least two Ammo Boxes and a Medical Bag. Clearing both doors in sequence usually nets several logbooks from a single room.

Stella Montis Medical Research route

The Medical Research wing on Stella Montis sits next to the Loading Bay and is built around a central two-story lab packed with Medical Bags. A clean sweep runs through the main lab floor, up to the upper office mezzanine, and up the rear staircase — each Medical Bag along that path is a logbook candidate, and you will pass ammo boxes on the lower floor and terminals as well.

One Storage Room inside the wing holds additional Raider containers but stays locked until you bring the Stella Montis Medical Storage Key. Watch for an Arc Shredder drone in the main lab while you loot.

How to confirm the logbook counted

Once you extract, take the logbooks to the Research Station at your Outpost and submit them. Your Research Point total climbs by 100 per logbook, and those points become spendable in Blueprint, Amplification, and Design research. When you have three in hand, the Research Station shows the Level 2 upgrade as available — completing it adds the Weapon Amplification options to the station.

If the upgrade still reads as locked, check that the Research Station itself is installed. It requires The Outpost and an install cost of 35 Planks, 5 Battered Paperbacks, and 3 Mini Pumps before any logbook can be fed into it.
