ARC Raiders: How to Get the Camera in the Frozen Trail Update

Buy it from Shani for 1,920 Coins, craft it cheaply at the Workbench, or claim it from the Frozen Trail Pass.

In ARC Raiders, the Camera is classed as a Quick Use item. The Outpost project and several quests now need photos taken with the camera. It comes in Basic Camera and Advanced Camera versions. To get one, purchase it from Shani, make it at the Workbench, or search Topside; the Frozen Trail Pass also awards Cameras.

Quick answer: Craft a Basic Camera at the Workbench with 8 Plastic Parts and 1 Wires, or buy one from Shani for 1,920 Coins.

Craft a Basic Camera at the Workbench (cheapest)

Its recipe is available from the beginning, with no blueprint required. Eight Plastic Parts and one Wires have a combined sell value of 680 Coins, compared with Shani’s 1,920-Coin price for the Camera.

Open the Workshop tab and select the Workbench (level 1), then open the Crafting list. Scroll to find the Basic Camera entry.

Select the Basic Camera recipe to see its required resources. You need 8 Plastic Parts and 1 Wires. If you are short, the screen shows “Not enough resources” with a resource-tracking option.

Once both materials are in your stash, craft the Camera. You can make as many as you like.

Celeste sells both materials for Assorted Seeds. Celeste sells Wires for 4 Assorted Seeds each. Her Wires offer is capped at 10 a day and unlocks at account level 7; Plastic Parts have no purchase limit.

Buy a Camera from Shani

If you would rather pay Coins than gather materials, Shani sells both Cameras from her security desk. The Basic Camera is available on a brand-new account, while the Advanced Camera is locked behind an account level.

Open the Traders tab and pick Shani (Security), then open her Trades list.

Select the Basic Camera. It costs 1,920 Coins with no purchase limit, and it sells back for 640 Coins.

Confirm the purchase, and the Camera lands in your stash.

The Advanced Camera

Shani sells the Rare Advanced Camera for 3,000 Coins, with a limit of 3 per day once you reach account level 12. The Advanced Camera Blueprint is a separate item.

For most quests the Basic Camera is enough, so there is no need to wait for the Advanced version unless you specifically want its extra options.

Claim a Camera from the Frozen Trail Pass

The free track of the Frozen Trail Pass grants Cameras as you climb its tiers. These cost only Reward Points earned through normal play, so they are effectively free alongside the rest of the pass.

  • Reach level 2 to get 2 Basic Cameras for 300 Reward Points.
  • At level 30, you can claim 2 Advanced Cameras for 4,500 Reward Points.

Why you need a Camera

The Outpost project starts with “Research Topside Living Conditions” and needs a photo of a farmland house. On a new account, the Outpost tab displays “Unlocks at level 18”.

Several quests also now require photos taken with the Camera: The League, Reduced to Rubble, Life of a Pharmacist, Battening Down and Groundbreaking. Having a Camera ready means you will not have to backtrack when one of these quests calls for a picture.
