ARC Raiders: How to Unlock Sprint Shooting and Run While Firing

Firing while sprinting is a weapon amplification upgrade on select guns, not a character skill you unlock in the tree.

Running and shooting at the same time in ARC Raiders is not something your Raider learns. There is no node in the character skill tree that flips it on. Instead, it lives on the weapon itself as an amplification upgrade called Sprint Shooting, and only certain guns can carry it.

Quick answer: Level an eligible weapon to tier IV, craft an Amplification Module Mk. I at Gunsmith IV, then unlock the Sprint Shooting node in that weapon’s Amplified tree.

What Sprint Shooting does

Sprint Shooting fits a weapon with ergonomic parts so you can keep firing while at a full sprint, rather than dropping out of the run to shoot. It sits in the Amplification branch of a weapon’s upgrade tree, which means you have to amplify the gun before the node becomes available. It is strictly per-weapon, so amplifying one gun does not grant it to the rest of your loadout.

Weapons that can unlock Sprint Shooting

Sprint Shooting is limited to a handful of weapons. Pistols and a few special guns carry it, while assault rifles such as the Kettle do not. Before you commit to leveling a gun, check that it actually lists Sprint Shooting in its amplification options.

WeaponCategorySprint ShootingPrerequisite node
HairpinPistolYesSemi-Auto
RascalSpecialYesNone listed
Burletta—YesNone listed
Canto—YesCannot combine with Carbine Conversion
KettleAssault RifleNo—

On the Hairpin, Sprint Shooting requires the Semi-Auto upgrade first, and Semi-Auto cannot be combined with Incendiary Rounds or Tracker Rounds. On the Canto, Sprint Shooting and Carbine Conversion are mutually exclusive, so you pick one path or the other.

The Kettle’s amplification options are Anti-Shield, Full-Auto and X-Rounds. There is no Sprint Shooting on it, so leveling it will not let you fire that rifle while running.

How to unlock Sprint Shooting

Pick an eligible weapon. The Hairpin pistol and Rascal are the common choices, and the Burletta and Canto also carry the upgrade. Confirm the gun lists Sprint Shooting before you invest in it.

The Workbench Crafting screen shows the Hairpin I, a common Pistol with a built-in silencer, and the Metal Parts and Plastic Parts needed to craft it.
Upgrade the weapon through tiers I, II, and III, then bring it to tier IV. The gun must be upgraded before amplification nodes appear; lower-tier versions won’t display the option.
Make an Amplification Module Mk. I to gain access to common weapon amplification. Crafting it requires the Gunsmith IV station, and you must have the module before branching to the weapon’s Amplified version.
Gather the crafting materials the Amplified weapon asks for. The Rascal requires 2 Fluted Rotor Cores, which it spends when you build its amplified variant.
Open the Amplified tree and select the Sprint Shooting node. On the Hairpin, take Semi-Auto first, then Sprint Shooting unlocks after it. Once the node is applied, the gun keeps firing while you sprint.

Where to find Fluted Rotor Cores on the ARC Frigate

Fluted Rotor Cores are materials for amplified weapon crafting and are obtained from the ARC Frigate. In this map condition, an ARC Frigate hangs above the area. It is the game’s toughest fight, with a difficulty rating of 5 out of 5; no locked doors or Raider Hatches are active, and total loot value is lower across the map.

Search containers and points of interest on the frigate ship’s outer sides for the cores. Gather the amount specified on your weapon’s upgrade screen, then head back to craft.

Amplification Modules by rarity

Sprint Shooting is a common amplification, so the Mk. I module is all you need to reach it. The module tiers climb alongside the amplification tier they unlock, and each one is a Topside Material under the ARC loot category weighing 0.5.

Confirming it worked

You will know Sprint Shooting is active when the node shows as applied in the weapon’s Amplified tree and the gun reads as an amplified variant, for example the Amplified Hairpin or Amplified Rascal. Take the weapon into a raid, hold sprint and fire. If the character keeps shooting instead of breaking into a jog, the upgrade is installed correctly.
