ARC Raiders: Sizing Things Up Quest Walkthrough and Rewards

Celeste's Pendola Pass quest sends you to photograph and analyze the fallen Emperor before recovering a buried ARC Conductive Coupler.

Celeste’s Pendola Pass quest sends you to photograph and analyze the fallen Emperor before recovering a buried ARC Conductive Coupler.

Sizing Things Up is one of the Frozen Trail quests Celeste hands out, and it keeps you entirely inside the new Pendola Pass map, which carries a difficulty rating of 3 of 5. The task is to inspect a dead Emperor up close. You photograph one leg, analyze a second, then dig a part out of the snow near its base and carry it home. Most of the route is covered on foot, so pack for a long walk rather than a fight.

Quick answer: Keep a camera in your Safe Pocket, photograph the Emperor’s leg by the Old Town bridge, analyze the leg south of Railroad Junction, then recover the ARC Conductive Coupler from the buried payload at the Emperor’s base and extract to turn it in to Celeste.

What to bring before the raid

Only one quest item needs protecting at the end, so a free loadout or a lightly kitted personal loadout is fine. Celeste gives you a Basic Camera at no cost when the quest begins, and either camera model clears the photo step.

  • Take a Basic Camera or Advanced Camera and store it in your Safe Pocket, where it stays with you if you are downed.
  • Pack several Adrenaline Shots to cover the lengthy stretches separating the objectives.
  • A Shield Recharger and Medical Bandages for emergencies.
  • An augment that gives you a Safe Pocket, since the final part must be extracted with you.

The first two objectives can be split across separate runs, but reaching the base and pulling the payload have to happen in the same run, because you must extract while carrying the coupler.

Search the map’s south side near the Transit Tunnel linking Old Town and Railyard for the broad, fallen bridge leading into town. You can complete this without going into Old Town.
You can take the picture from anywhere along the bridge. Stand at either end, select the camera on your quick wheel, point it at the huge leg, and capture it. For a tidier view, get onto the leg lying on the ground and face west to include the other leg. The objective completes automatically when the photo is accepted.
Taking the photo leads to one of two possible objectives. Checking the probe near Almatera Station is optional; the simpler route is to inspect the exposed leg. Find where it meets the ground south of Railroad Junction, near the Controlled Receiving Facility.
Get onto the leg from the side or its distant end, then make your way to the hydraulic joint by the foot, which is not climbable. Interact when Analyze Part appears. You do not need a camera here.

A Bully frequently patrols here, dealing 85 damage with a body strike as well as firing long-range missiles. It is hostile and closes in quickly; unless you are equipped to take it on, stay out of its sight and avoid drawing its focus, particularly when alone. Skulkers may wander through the snow nearby too.

Make your way to the massive Emperor wreck on the map’s west side, north of Old Town and immediately west of Piazza della Rupe. Scale the mound of rocks and ruined homes to the place where you would use a key to enter the Emperor. Reaching this spot automatically completes “Reach the base of the Emperor”.
Along the entrance route, search the wrecked machinery for a glinting Harvester payload. It is inside a locker-like container protruding from the ground, with snow covering part of it. Search the container, take the ARC Conductive Coupler, and immediately stow it in your Safe Pocket. Losing it means repeating the final leg.

Extract from Pendola Pass and turn in the coupler

Leaving Pendola Pass works differently from extraction on other maps. Call in a pod with a radio beacon; it holds up to three Raiders. Follow its green light to the landing site and board. Alternatively, ride the Gondola or surrender with a free loadout for a quick return. Keep the coupler in your Safe Pocket until extraction is complete.

Once in Speranza, go to the quests tab, pick Celeste, then press Claim to hand in the ARC Conductive Coupler. The quest switches to complete and the rewards appear in your inventory, confirming the delivery. This permanently satisfies Celeste’s request.
