Weapon stencils are the first real gun skins in ARC Raiders, added with the Frozen Trail update on October 8, 2026. They change how a weapon looks and nothing else, so damage, reload speed, and handling stay exactly the same. You find or earn a stencil, learn it like a blueprint, then spend Stencil Parts each time you paint it onto a gun.

Quick answer: The game has 14 weapon stencils in total: eight are found in Topside containers, five are awarded through the Frozen Trail Premium Reward Pass for 1,150 Raider Tokens, and Dragon’s Breath comes only with the Collector Set DLC.

How weapon stencils work

Stencils sit in their own system, separate from amplified weapons. A stencil repaints the gun’s own parts, so the same design looks different on each weapon. Legendary stencils go a step further and alter the model itself, adding ornaments and glow effects rather than a flat recolor.

Collections menu on the Stencils tab with fourteen empty numbered stencil slots and a found counter of 0/14.
The Stencils tab of COLLECTIONS shows 0 of 14 stencils found, with numbered slots 1 to 14 still locked.
  • Stencils are cosmetic only. They do not change damage, accuracy, reload speed, or any other stat.
  • You learn a stencil once and it stays in your collection forever, just like a gear blueprint.
  • Applying one costs Stencil Parts and covers a single weapon. A second gun needs its own application.
  • A stencil stays on the weapon when you go down, so whoever loots that gun keeps the applied design.
  • You cannot strip a gun back to its default finish, but you can paint a different stencil over it.

Which weapons each stencil fits

Stencils are not universal. Each design only accepts a set list of guns, so check compatibility before you spend parts. Garnet and Ochre are the two exceptions that fit nearly every weapon in the game.

  • Verdigris — This stencil fits Osprey and Canto, then Stitcher and Bobcat, plus Vulcano and Il Toro, along with Hairpin and Stiletto
  • Garnet — nearly every weapon, from Osprey and Stitcher up to Rattler, Bettina, and Tempest
  • Ochre — the same broad roster as Garnet
  • Cerulean — This stencil fits Osprey and Bobcat, then Vulcano and Venator, plus Anvil and Bantam, along with Bettina and Arpeggio
  • Dusty Camo — This stencil fits Il Toro and Burletta, then Torrente and Stiletto, plus Rattler and Tempest
  • Milky Terraccota — Canto, Hairpin, Burletta, Renegade, Ferro, Kettle
  • Slipstream — Il Toro, Anvil, Rattler
  • Tortoise — Anvil, Rattler
  • Fortuna — Anvil
  • Sacrifice — Renegade
  • Empyrean — Osprey
  • Serac — Bobcat
  • Bulwark — Hullcracker
  • Dragon’s Breath — Tempest

Stencil Parts cost by rarity

Every application costs Stencil Parts, and the amount lines up with the stencil’s rarity. A Legendary design like Serac or Bulwark is more than seven times the cost of an Uncommon one.

Stencil Parts are an epic crafting material used for nothing else. They drop as random loot in Commercial, Residential, and Industrial POIs, and maps with dense residential zones such as Buried City and Blue Gate are good places to farm them. The Reward Pass also hands out Stencil Parts in bundles of 3, seen at levels 11 and 47.

Where to get each type of stencil

Eight stencils found Topside

The eight world-found designs drop at random from containers, lockers, and key rooms during normal raids. There are no guaranteed spawns for most of them, so keep opening containers on every run and they will turn up over time. Key rooms, which need keys to enter, tend to hold the better drops.

A few confirmed spots exist on Pendola Pass. Tortoise can appear in the Commissary Supermarket, inside a green trash can in the second-floor office. Dusty Camo shows up in the same building’s Staff Room, looted from the boxes there.

Cerulean has been found in the Pendola Pass Observatory key room, another reason to prioritize locked areas when you have the key for them.

If you pick up a design you don’t already own, treat it as priority loot and head for extraction. There is little point risking a fight while carrying a collectible you came out for.

Five stencils from the Premium Reward Pass

Fortuna, Sacrifice, Empyrean, Serac, and Bulwark come from the Frozen Trail Premium Reward Pass, priced at 1,150 Raider Tokens. None can be found Topside. Purchase Premium first, then complete Feats to advance through the pass and unlock the levels containing each stencil. Serac and Bulwark are the two Legendary choices that change the weapon’s model instead of only its color.

Dragon’s Breath from the Collector Set DLC

Dragon’s Breath is the single stencil you cannot earn through play or the pass. It comes only with the Frozen Trail Collector Set DLC, which also bundles the Renzo cosmetic set, the Bob hairstyle, 2,400 Raider Tokens, a Retro Sofa Outpost recipe, the Banjo blueprint, and access to the Premium Reward Pass. If Dragon’s Breath is the goal, weigh the full bundle rather than the single stencil.

How to learn and apply a stencil

Out of a raid, open the lobby and go to the Workshop. Select Blueprints in the bottom left to reach the Collections menu, which holds your Blueprints, Stencils, and Designs.
Find the stencil in your inventory, right-click it, and choose Learn to consume it. This unlocks the design permanently, so you never need to find that same pattern again.
Select a compatible weapon in your stash, open its Stencils menu, pick the learned design, and confirm. Applying it spends the Stencil Parts shown for that rarity and locks the finish to that one gun.
Reward Passes menu showing a rifle with a purple web-pattern stencil called Empyrean, beside a column of level rewards 55 to 60.
The Reward Passes screen previews the Empyrean epic stencil, a purple-patterned rifle design, at level 57 and asks for 8,550 more to collect it with the Premium Pass.

A new Stencil entry appears in the weapon’s tooltip to confirm the applied design. The finish stays with that particular gun, so if you go down, any Raider who loots it gets the weapon with its finish. Your learned design remains in your collection, allowing you to repaint a replacement weapon whenever you have the parts.
