Sheet Metal, introduced in the Frozen Trail update, is a frequently used crafting resource at your Outpost. You need it for base unlocks and expansions, furniture crafting, and Research Station upgrades that install weapon amplifications. You can get it by trading in Speranza or looting it during raids.

Quick answer: In Speranza, Celeste sells Sheet Metal for 3 Assorted Seeds per piece; loose loot is another source. The largest cluster of spawns is at the Commissary Supermarket on Pendola Pass.

Sheet Metal stats and value

The game tags Sheet Metal as a Basic Material of Common rarity, and in the loot data it sits in the Outpost material pool. At 0.1 kg each, you can keep picking it up for a full raid without your bag slowing you down. It cannot be recycled or salvaged, and no other item breaks down into it, so every piece has to be found or bought.

Buy Sheet Metal from Celeste in Speranza

When you are just a few pieces short of finishing a build, Celeste is the quickest option. She accepts Assorted Seeds, a Nature-tier item found in the world, and offers Sheet Metal at 3 Assorted Seeds per piece. Buying in bulk gets costly, so this trade is most useful when you need only one or two more for a project.

Select the TRADERS tab in the top bar of the Speranza menu to display the hub map and its marked merchants.
Choose Celeste, switch to her TRADES tab, and scroll until Sheet Metal appears under Basic Material.

Celeste’s Trades tab lists items for sale, with Metal Parts (Basic Material, Common) selected and available for purchase in exchange for Assorted Seeds.
Choose your quantity and complete the purchase. Before the pieces are added to your stash, a PURCHASED pop-up shows Sheet Metal and the amount received, confirming the trade went through.

Celeste’s shop runs on seeds rather than Coins, so spend them with care. If you need large quantities of Sheet Metal, farming it in raids is far cheaper than draining your seed supply.

Where Sheet Metal spawns in raids

Sheet Metal is generally found as loose loot in the open, set on surfaces rather than hidden in furniture. Because its flat profile can disappear among clutter, check shelves, tables and seats instead of focusing only on containers. Select industrial containers can also contain pieces. Each pickup gives 1 to 3.

Industrial and Residential points of interest are the richest areas, and Security zones also have surface spawns. Every loot spot can roll roughly a hundred item types, so a given shelf will not always produce Sheet Metal. Check the item name at each spot rather than counting on one location.

Best farming route on Pendola Pass

Pendola Pass packs the highest concentration of possible Sheet Metal spawns into a handful of buildings. The counts below show how many eligible spots each area holds, so the places with larger numbers give you more chances per run.

AreaPossible spotsWhere to look
Commissary Supermarket960Shelf loot (828 spots), back-room lockers
Old Town525Shelves, tables, sofas, kitchen units
Almatera Station361Shelves, train tables and seats
Northern Tracks230Train tables and seats in parked carriages
Researcher Lodgings223Train seats, sofas, cars
Piazza della Rupe220Shelves and train interiors

Start at the Commissary Supermarket. Check the shelves along each aisle first, leaving the back-room lockers for later; this aisle has the map’s largest single concentration. Then head to Old Town, where houses south of the Fallen Emperor have pieces on kitchen surfaces, sofas, tables, and shelves.

For a railway-side drop, Almatera Station and Northern Tracks are handy options. Search the tables and seats in the parked train carriages for loot. On your route, clear the red lockers in both the supermarket and the station carriages.

Pendola Pass uses a Dynamic Loot Zone system, so the relative value of areas can shift between raids. Check the loot-zone info on the map selection screen and adjust your route rather than relying on one spot every time.

Riven Tides container run

Riven Tides is another reliable place to search, thanks to its closely packed shipping containers. Begin at the Port Authority Building; the Dockmaster’s Office has the region’s highest loot density. Next, head to the Stacking Yard and search the green cabinets in the field, then look for surface loot in the upper crane control rooms.

Look through the shelves inside damaged shipping containers for either one piece or a stack of three. Some rusted carts are sealed; open them with a melee tool by using Breach and Search. End the route at the Railyard, searching the open containers on the flatbed railcars.

Sweep from the Stacking Yard through the Railyard on a compact run; in a few minutes, you can usually collect 7 to 10 Sheet Metal and extract at a nearby point like the Customs Elevator. Those containers can also yield incidental components and furniture designs, including Cable Strippers, a Mini Pump, the Tufted Sofa, and the Warehouse Dresser.

On Stella Montis, the Assembly and Loading Bay areas are worth a look if you are already there. The yellow drawers in Assembly and the industrial containers in both rooms report good yields, though spawns are never guaranteed.

What Sheet Metal is used for

Sheet Metal is used by the Outpost, which draws on your Raider Den’s Outpost extension supply pool. You need it to unlock and expand the Outpost, craft furniture, and improve the Research Station.

Stage two of the Sheltered Retreat project, the Gather Building Materials step, calls for 5 Sheet Metal alongside 3 Planks, 10 ARC Alloy and 3 Advanced Electrical Components. Furniture asks for larger amounts: the Archive Floor Lamp takes 15 Sheet Metal plus 3 Light Bulbs. At 0.1 kg each, that stage-two batch weighs under 1 kg combined, so weight only matters once you start stockpiling dozens of pieces for furniture.

The Inventory screen shows the Stash with a tooltip for Metal Parts, a common basic material used to craft Hairpin, Heavy Ammo, Ferro, Kettle and Medium Ammo.

Before deciding how much to collect, look up the specific requirement for your project or recipe; later Outpost stages need more than the initial delivery. After each raid, turn in your haul to the current Sheltered Retreat stage. The project tracker and available recipes refresh to show the materials delivered, so you can confirm them before setting out again.
