The Insulation Roll is an Epic material in ARC Raiders, and you need it for the last Outpost expansion. It spawns on one map, Pendola Pass. It can show up loose on shelves and train seats, inside ordinary containers, or in the Storm Huts that open during a Flash Freeze. Nothing guarantees a drop, so the work comes down to searching the right buildings and the right surfaces.
Quick answer: Deploy to Pendola Pass. Search the shelves and train cars at Almatera Station, Cielo Sereno Observatory, Freight Terminal and Railyard, and enter a Storm Hut if a Flash Freeze starts. You need three.
Insulation Roll locations on Pendola Pass
Pendola Pass is the snowy summit map that arrived with the Frozen Trail update. It has a difficulty of 3 out of 5, and it unlocks after 25 rounds played. If the map isn’t open to you yet, you can’t farm Insulation Rolls at all.

The Roll can spawn almost anywhere on the map. These five areas have the most possible spawn spots:
| Location | Spawn spots | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Almatera Station | 402 | Second-floor shelf room, trains |
| Cielo Sereno Observatory | 268 | Desks, drawers, lockers, key room shelving |
| Freight Terminal | 207 | Parked train cars, industrial loot |
| Railyard | 149 | Train carriage seats and countertops |
| Controlled Receiving Facility | 145 | Indoor tables and storage |
A spawn spot only means a chance at the item. Every spot can roll plenty of other loot, and other Raiders may have cleared it before you arrive. The Epoxy Bucket uses the same spawn spots, so one route covers both materials.
Almatera Station shelf room
Almatera Station has the most spawn spots, and most of them are concentrated in one room. Go through the station’s main entrance and take the escalators to the second floor. The room full of metal shelving is at the top. Walk every row and check each shelf, because the Roll often sits out in the open rather than in a box. Insulation Rolls have also turned up in the shelving drawers of the station’s key room, sometimes next to a Laser Level.
Cielo Sereno Observatory
The Observatory has commercial, residential and industrial containers, and its containers get a heavy share of loot compared with the rest of the map. Check the office desks, drawers, lockers and crates. The shelving drawers in the Observatory key room have also produced Rolls on more than one run. Because so many players drop here, expect company.

Railyard and Freight Terminal
Parked passenger cars give you quick checks. Each bay has a table and seats, so walk down the aisle and look at the surfaces. The Roll is a small, tube-shaped object, and you can miss it easily if you only open containers.
Look at the map at the start of each raid. Areas marked yellow have a Medium loot value, and red areas have a High one. These markings change every raid, so pick the closest highlighted area from the table rather than running the same route every time.

Most Insulation Roll spawns are loose loot, so scan surfaces as you move through a room. Here’s how the spawn spots break down by type of surface:
| Surface | Share of spawn spots |
|---|---|
| Shelves and storage racks | 20% |
| Train car tables and seats | 17% |
| Consoles, desks and control panels | 10% |
| Tables, chairs and counters | 10% |
| Office desks and filing cabinets | 8% |
| Trolleys and carts | 7% |
Containers can hold it too. Fifteen container types are eligible:

- Commercial: bench drawers, cafe counters, dumpsters, filing cabinets, office desks, shop shelves, street bins
- Residential: kitchen cabinets, suitcases, trash bins, warehouse desks
- Industrial: industrial crates (breach to open), lockers, shipping container drawers, tool trolleys
Each container rolls at most one Roll. You don’t need to prioritize breachable crates. An open office desk is just as eligible.
Insulation Rolls in Storm Huts during Flash Freeze
Storm Huts are emergency shelters scattered across Pendola Pass, with nine shelter areas in total. They stay locked in normal weather. When a Flash Freeze hits, an emergency broadcast plays and the shelter markers appear on your map. The loot inside can include Insulation Rolls, Epoxy Buckets, Radial Presses, ammo and healing items, though none of these are fixed drops.
Not every hut opens in a given match, so camping one shelter won’t help. If the first hut you reach has no Roll, it isn’t bugged. That’s just how the loot rolled.
The Redirection map condition disables Flash Freeze completely. In those raids the Storm Huts never open, so stick to the station, Observatory and train routes.

How many Insulation Rolls Outpost Room 4 needs
The Outpost expansion from level 3 to level 4 asks for three Insulation Rolls. Finishing that room unlocks Gunsmith IV and amplified weapons, and it raises the cap on your Research Station. You have to complete the earlier expansions first.
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| 3 | |
| 3 | |
| Sheet Metal | 40 |
The item stacks to 3 and weighs 0.5 kg, so a full set fits in one inventory slot. Extract as soon as you have one in your bag. A Roll lost in an unnecessary fight sends you back to Pendola Pass. The Outpost expansion screen shows how many you have toward the requirement, which is the easiest way to confirm your progress.
Don’t break down your Rolls until the room is built. Recycling one gives you 2 Durable Cloth, and salvaging gives you 6 Fabric. The recycled materials are worth 1,280, compared with the Roll’s sell value of 3,000. Unless you need the cloth for a specific craft, selling is the better deal for any Rolls beyond the three Room 4 requires.
