The Ol’ Tessie toy is the Ashes of the Damned contribution to the Black Ops 7 Zombies Super Easter Egg, the cross-map hunt that collects one toy per round-based map onto a shelf in the house on Rex Infernus. It is not part of the “Dust to Dust” main quest, but it borrows heavily from it: you need the Necrofluid Gauntlet before the chain can even start, plus a Dark Flare charge and a Fumigator.
Quick answer: Find the ghostly twins, pull the toy box off the Vandorn Farm windmill with the Necrofluid Gauntlet, open it with Dark Flare, clear three Monolith Forest crystals, then trade the meteor shard for the toy and exfil.
Requirements before the Ol’ Tessie toy chain will start
Unlocking the Super Easter Egg requires a main quest completion on each of the six round-based maps: Ashes of the Damned, Astra Malorum, Paradox Junction, Totenreich, Kowakujō and Rex Infernus. Completions in Directed Mode satisfy this requirement. The toy hunt has a separate restriction: use Standard Mode, since the toy box is unavailable in Directed.
- Necrofluid Gauntlet — the only weapon that can pull the toy box and the crystals down.
- Dark Flare field upgrade — equip it in your loadout; nothing else opens the box.
- Stun Grenades tactical — needed to wake Klaus during the gauntlet build.
- Optional GobbleGums such as Shields Up, Re-Equipment and Power Keg.
- On solo, do not save and quit mid-run.

The Wonder Weapon is the long pole here, and the route is the same one used in the main quest. Melee the floor panel in the Server Room at Janus Towers Plaza, take T.E.D.D.’s head, install it on Ol’ Tessie, then clear the infested power pumps at Blackwater Lake, Vandorn Farm and the Ashwood bridge to turn on all three generators.
On round 8, approach the wreckage next to the Blackwater Lake door in Janus Towers Plaza to spawn Uber Klaus. Both phases have to die for him to drop the Stabilizer Chip. Install that chip on the cell panel in the Ashwood Sheriff’s Office, and once the panel reads “Update requires restart”, throw two stun grenades at Klaus back to back so both blasts connect.
With Klaus following you, drive Ol’ Tessie to the Zarya Cosmodrome and command him to stand at the Support Systems panel. Activate the scanner, hold the red circle until the bar fills, then collect the canister and take it around all three power pumps to fill it. Deliver the charged canister to the cube in the Vandorn Farm cellar, use the nearby jump pad to read the three rooftop symbols, dial them in on the cube, interact with the eye, and pick up the gauntlet. You are then locked in until you shoot and recall six green orbs.

A stun grenade always spawns in the Server Room at spawn, and another sits on the shelf across from Juggernog in the Ruby Rabbit, so you are never short for the Klaus revive.
Twins spawn locations in Ashes of the Damned
The ghostly twins pick one of three spots per match. Drive the route and check each one — walking up to them is all the interaction needed, and they vanish on approach.
| Location | Where exactly |
|---|---|
| Lost Cabin | The location is in the fog behind the cabin, in the area separating Blackwater Lake and Ashwood. |
| Ashwood | On the bridge platform at the end of the zipline, near the jump pad |
| Grounded Ship | On top of the boat in the fog between Vandorn Farm and Ashwood |

Once they disappear, they reappear on the roof of the barn at Vandorn Farm, staring at a toy box floating inside the small windmill under a dark storm cloud. That reappearance is your confirmation that the chain has started.
How to open the toy box at Vandorn Farm

Monolith Forest crystals and the Fumigator
Before you go anywhere near the fog, grab a Fumigator — the orange canister sitting in a grey utility box marked “OUTPUT CABLES” at Janus Towers Plaza. Without it equipped, the crystals cannot be interacted with once they are on the ground. Cymbal Monkeys, Aether Shroud or a Decoy help enormously, since the fog zombies do not stop coming while you hunt.
The Monolith Forest is the fog stretch between Janus Towers and Blackwater Lake. Three pink crystals sit on top of monolith pillars, and their pillars are randomised between a larger set of possible spots, so expect to sweep the area rather than run a fixed route.

Meteor shard at Blackwater Lake
Drive to the crash site at the edge of Blackwater Lake and interact with the glowing purple meteor. Nothing visible happens straight away. The rock only splits after the round flips, so finish the round, come back, and pick up the crystal shard sitting inside the cracked meteor.

Claiming the toy and exfiling with it
Carry the shard back to the opened toy box at Vandorn Farm and place it inside. The box hands over the Ol’ Tessie toy along with a few random extras such as salvage or a wrench. From there, take the next available exfil — call it at the telephone booth, kill the HVT, and get into the portal.
The toy only counts if you leave with it. Bleeding out or failing the exfil round means the whole chain has to be redone from the twins.
You will know it worked from three things. Ol’ Tessie enters the exfil portal alongside you, the twins fire off a voice line as you escape, and the screen reads SUCCESSFUL EXFIL. Load into Rex Infernus afterwards and the toy will be sitting on the shelf inside the house, joining whichever other map toys you have already banked toward the Super Easter Egg and The Warden operator unlock.
