Back on One’s Feet Walkthrough in Genshin Impact

Back on One’s Feet is the fourth quest in the In the Dwelling of Life world quest chain, the Flamefeather Valley questline added in Genshin Impact Version 7.0. It picks up the moment Down in the Dumps ends, dropping you back in the town of Okurov with Nastya. The goal is to break into Ove’s house, dig out a Control Wheel from the cellar, and fit it onto the elevator mechanism that leads to the assembly hall.

Quick answer: Enter Ove’s house through the chimney, break the crates to reach the basement, use a Grappling Gun to open the metal gate and grab the Exit Door Lever, defeat the leshy, take the Control Wheel from the table, then install it on the elevator mechanism to finish the quest.

Before you start: how the quest triggers

Back on One’s Feet begins automatically once Down in the Dumps is complete and you have returned to the surface in Okurov. There is no separate quest to accept. The whole In the Dwelling of Life chain unlocks only after you activate the Statue of the Seven in Snezhnograd during the Great Deeds on the Tundra portion of the Everwinter Without Mercy Archon Quest, so make sure that step is done first.

When the quest is active, head to the teleport waypoint in Okurov and speak with Nastya to set the objective in motion. Follow the quest navigation from there to the area near Ove’s house.

Get inside Ove’s house

Talk to Nastya near the waypoint, then walk to the marked spot beside Ove’s house. The front door stays shut, so you will need another way in.

Stack up the nearby crates to climb onto the roof, then drop down the chimney to get inside. This is the only entry point into the house.

Move into the next room and destroy the wooden crates on the floor. Breaking them reveals the passage down to the basement.

Open the basement and clear the cellar

Follow the path down until you hit a metal gate. On the left wall you will find a hood covering a mechanism. Summon a Grappling Gun to tear it off and pick up the lever underneath.

Install the lever on the wall mechanism to open the gate. Behind it, near the Precious Chest, grab the Exit Door Lever for a Certain Basement Room.

Defeat the leshy that spawns in the room. Once it is down, use the lever you collected to open the next gate.

Grab the Control Wheel and reach the elevator

Take the Control Wheel from the table inside the room. This is the key item the rest of the quest depends on.

Leave the cellar and head back up to regroup with Nastya. Follow the quest navigation to the location near the elevator.

Install the Control Wheel on the elevator mechanism and operate it. Taking the elevator up to the assembly hall completes Back on One’s Feet.

Installing the Control Wheel on the mechanism ends the quest and hands over the following:

You will know the quest is finished when the completion banner appears after the elevator ride and the next entry, Forbidding Doors of Melancholy, becomes the active objective in the In the Dwelling of Life chain. If the Control Wheel prompt does not appear at the elevator, confirm you actually picked the wheel up off the table in the cellar before leaving, since the mechanism cannot be operated without it.
