Backrooms Morphs 2: How to Get All 4 New Morphs (Update 1.3.9)

Exact routes and tools for the Room Door, Wait Scream, Rusher, and Chaser morph unlocks.

Exact routes and tools for the Room Door, Wait Scream, Rusher, and Chaser morph unlocks.

Update 1.3.9 in Backrooms Morphs 2 adds four unlockable skins, and none of them show up in a shop menu. Each one sits behind a collectible hidden somewhere in the yellow maze, and three of the four expect you to be carrying the right tool when you arrive. The routes overlap heavily, so the fastest approach is to learn where the tools spawn first and then run the four pickups in a single loop.

Quick answer: Each of the four Update 1.3.9 morphs unlocks by grabbing a hidden item. Room Door needs no tool, Wait Scream and Chaser need the Hammer, and Rusher needs the Sledge_Hammer.

All 4 Update 1.3.9 morphs and what each one needs

MorphTool neededWhere it unlocks
Room DoorNoneBedroom behind the red door
Wait ScreamHammerDrawer at the end of the hotel hallway
RusherSledge_HammerMetal door room in the back section
ChaserHammerSecret button room corridor

The Hammer is the workhorse here. It breaks the grey door on the way to the hotel area and it is also what gets you to the button room later, and it does not stay in your inventory forever, so expect a return trip to the vent to pick it up again between unlocks.

Where to find the Hammer and Sledge_Hammer

Both tools sit past the same vent, so this is the first place to learn. From the spawn room, press the red button to raise the rolling garage door, then find the vent inside the spawn area and crawl through it.

Crawl through the vent in the spawn room. This drops you into the lava section rather than the main yellow hallways.
Cross the wooden plank stretched over the lava. The plank is narrow, so walk it rather than sprinting across.
Pick up the Hammer on the far side. That is the tool you need for both the Wait Scream and Chaser unlocks.
For the heavier tool, come back to the same vent area and head past the lava pit again. The Sledge_Hammer is tucked behind a crate, so check the back of the room rather than the open floor.

Grab the Hammer before anything else. The Room Door morph is the only unlock you can finish empty-handed.

Room Door morph location (no tool required)

This is the easiest of the four and sits close to spawn. Head into the yellow hallways and follow the wall markers until you reach a red door.

Open the red door and step into the bedroom.
Look at the floor in the gap between the two beds. The skin pickup is lying there, and collecting it unlocks the Room Door morph immediately.

Wait Scream morph location (Hammer route)

With the Hammer equipped, this run takes you out of the maze and into the hotel section. Monsters patrol the corridors on the way, so keep moving instead of stopping to check corners.

Run the maze while holding the Hammer until you reach the grey door, then break it open.
Climb the ladder in the flooded room on the other side. That ladder is what feeds into the hotel hallway.
Walk to the very end of the hotel hallway and interact with the drawer there. The skin unlock screen for the Wait Scream morph appears as soon as you open it.

Rusher morph location (Sledge_Hammer route)

The Rusher unlock is the only one that will not open for the regular Hammer. Collect the Sledge_Hammer from behind the crate first, then head for the back section of the map.

Cut through the maze and the ladder area with the Sledge_Hammer in hand until you reach the closed metal door at the rear of the map.
Break the metal cover with the Sledge_Hammer and walk into the room behind it.
Press the red button inside. Hitting the button is what awards the Rusher morph, not the door itself.

Chaser morph location (secret button room)

The last of the four sends you back to the vent one more time. You need the Hammer again, so retrace the plank route over the lava before setting off.

Return through the vent area and pick the Hammer back up.
Follow the corridors to the secret button room and activate the switch inside.
Step into the corridor next to the button room. Walking in after the switch is flipped is what triggers the Chaser morph unlock.

How to confirm the morphs unlocked

Every pickup throws up a skin unlocked screen the moment it registers, which is the first signal that the collectible counted. To double-check, open the Morphs menu and scroll to the UPDATE 1.3.9 group. All four entries sit there together, so if Rusher, Chaser, Room Door, and Wait Scream are all listed and selectable, the set is complete and you can equip any of them straight from that menu.

The earlier four Backrooms Morphs 2 skins

If you are working through the game from scratch, the previous batch of four uses coloured keys rather than tools, and one of them sends you to a different area entirely through the teleport menu.

MorphRequirementWhere it unlocks
Fused GreenNoneNightstand in the wooden room above the flooded area
Dream CrawlerGreenKeySecret room below the Turtle pit vent
SmudgeCatGreen key, fixed fuse boxWall shelf past the green lock door
Purple CharacterBlueKeyWooden box behind the blue lock door

Fused Green is the entry point. Open the dark door, swim across the submerged room, climb the ladder on the far wall, and grab the item off the nightstand upstairs. The GreenKey for Dream Crawler sits in a small drawer back in the yellow hallways, and it opens the locked door you reach by dropping into the Turtle pit and following the directional markings.

SmudgeCat and the Purple Character both run through the theater area, which you enter by crawling through the wall vent and repairing the fuse box before going through the red doorway. The BlueKey for the Purple Character is not in the main map at all, so use the teleport menu to reach Destroyed Backrooms, pick it up off the floor among the rubble, then teleport back to spawn and return to the theater to open the blue lock.

Morph unlocks in other Roblox Backrooms experiences

SCP Morphs & Backrooms Morphs trophies

Most skins in this one are trophy pickups scattered around the facility and the surrounding map, with a handful of them locked behind platforming instead of keys. The Starfish trophy sits by a small wooden boat out in the water area, and Slenderman is inside a forest cabin that will not open until you have the Yellow Key. Psyco Tomato is the exception, sold through the shop menu for 49 Robux.

Two more trophies are buried in the lava cavern. ElGranMajaDemon asks you to jump between floating rock platforms over the lava, and ElSonicMaja is further along the same parkour route in a rock corner. Pluton hides on a rocky ledge among the outdoor rock structures, while Jupiter is up in the branches of a tree in the forest.

The LifeForm badge morph in Tiny Universe Roleplay

This one is gated behind a minigame rather than an item hunt. Walk past the row of morph portals in the hub and step into the portal labelled The Backrooms.

The rules appear on screen once you are inside. You power the exit door by clicking the glowing buttons around it, and you keep the entities off you with the flashlight while you work. Clicking the final button opens the door and awards the escape badge.

With the badge earned, head back to the morph selection area and stand on the circle in front of The LifeForm display to claim it.

Across all of these, the pattern is the same. The unlock is always tied to a specific pickup, button, or badge, and the UI tells you the moment it registers, so if you reach the spot and nothing fires, you are usually missing the tool or key the door was asking for.
