The Battle Cats roster has swelled past 300 units, and Version 15.3 reshuffled enough of the top end that older rankings no longer hold up. The Demon Slayer collaboration brought a fresh wave of collab cats, Ultra Forms keep dragging mid-tier units into relevance, and Legend Rares like Kasli the Bane now sit a clear step above the strongest Ubers. Below is the current pecking order across every rarity, with notes on which cats actually carry your team through Uncanny Legends and Zero Legends.

How the rankings work
Cats are evaluated on damage output, survivability, range, utility, trait coverage, deploy cost, and how much they gain from True Forms, talents, and Ultra Forms. A unit that only shines in one matchup can still place high if it solves a problem no one else can, but versatile cats with multiple immunities dominate the top tiers right now.
Tiers run from SS (meta-defining) down to D (largely outclassed). Anything B-tier or higher is worth upgrading for serious play; C and D-tier units are mainly early-game filler or specialists with niche use.

Legend Rare tier list
Legend Rares sit above Ubers in the rarity hierarchy and are gated behind milestone events. Pulling one is a genuine account-changing moment.
| Tier | Legend Rare cats |
|---|---|
| SS | Kasli the Bane, Xu |
| S | Other recent Legend Rare additions with strong multi-mode performance |
| A | Niche Legend Rares with specialized kits |
Kasli the Bane is the headline unit. Her Legend Rare form keeps the 100% curse application from the Uber version, and stacks surge attacks on top, with 81,600 HP, 15 knockbacks, and immunity to waves, weaken, curse, surges, and warp. Deploy cost is steep at 4,455, but she single-handedly clears backlines in Zero Legends. Xu rounds out the SS-tier with positioning control that punishes tight chokepoint stages.

Uber Rare tier list
This is where most of the meta lives. The Uber pool has grown wide enough that even S-tier picks can carry stages, but the SS group is where the real difference-makers sit.
| Tier | Uber Rare cats |
|---|---|
| SS | Miko Mitama, D'arktanyan, Shadow Gao, Chronos the Infinite (Empress Chronos) |
| S | Radiant Aphrodite, Shining Amaterasu, Kasa Jizo, Sanada Yukimura, Dark Mitama, Kasli the Scourge, D'artanyan, Lesser Demon Cat |

Miko Mitama is still the cleanest multi-purpose Uber. Her 50% evasion and immunities to waves, weaken, freeze, slow, and knockback let her solo trait-heavy stages that would shred most other backliners. The trade-off is poor performance against Traitless and Relic enemies.
D'arktanyan handles the Traitless problem himself. The Long Distance attack hits between 350 and 850 range, and the damage boost at 60% HP turns him into a boss-deletion tool when something tankier holds the front. He's the cornerstone unit for Cats of the Cosmos.
Shadow Gao is the safety pick. Resistance to every trait, wave/freeze/slow immunity, fast attack rate, and decent range make him slot into nearly any team. He won't out-DPS a specialist, but he never feels wasted.
Chronos the Infinite (Empress Chronos) freezes everything at 450 range, which is the kind of utility that flips defensive stages. Her slow attack rate is the only reason she doesn't compete with Miko for the top spot.

Where to spend Cat Food right now
If you only have enough Cat Food for one Uber event, target whichever banner features Miko Mitama, D'arktanyan, or Shadow Gao. These three solve the widest set of stages between them, and any one of them dramatically shortens your time clearing late-game content. Kasa Jizo and Radiant Aphrodite are the next-best targets if you're light on anti-Black/Angel and anti-Alien coverage respectively.
Talent investment matters more than it used to. Anubis the Protector, for example, jumps several tiers once its Ultra Talents are unlocked, and Kasli the Scourge becomes a 100%-curse single-target sniper with proper investment. Before chasing new pulls, check whether the cats you already own have unspent talents.
Tier lists move with each major patch, and Version 15.3 will almost certainly get balance tweaks before the next collaboration drops. Treat anything in SS or S as a safe long-term investment, but expect A and B tier movement as Ultra Forms continue rolling out.
