Season 5: Siege of Vegas takes Battlefield 6’s combat to Las Vegas and the Nevada desert. Its content arrives in three drops, beginning with two new maps, a new weapon set, a quicker REDSEC battle royale mode, and a limited-time Dead Space crossover. The update also ushers Battlefield 6 and REDSEC into their second year.
Quick answer: Season 5 begins October 13, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The launch lineup includes Vegas Strip, Area 51, four weapons, and Rapid Royale. The next content drops arrive November 10 and December 8.
Season 5 start date and phases
Season 5 goes live on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, and arrives on Game Pass Ultimate the same day. EA has not published an exact launch hour, but full update notes are set to post the day before, which points to October 12. The season is split into three phases, each introducing its own content.
| Phase | Name | Dates |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Siege of Las Vegas | Oct 13 – Nov 9 |
| 2 | Casino Heist | Nov 10 – Dec 7 |
| 3 | Frozen Aces | Dec 8 – Jan 18, 2027 |
A Battlefield 6 Full Game Trial also runs from October 15 to 19, letting more players drop in during the opening phase.
Features for later phases that remain under testing in Battlefield Labs may change, be delayed, or be cut. Treat everything scheduled after launch as a plan, not a certainty.

Season 5 introduces three new maps in stages. Vegas Strip and Area 51 open on October 13, followed by European Casino in phase two. Revised takes on Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City also come back later in the season.
Vegas Strip
On Vegas Strip, battles spread through a devastated Las Vegas, from casino floors and upscale hotel rooms to packed avenues and storm-drain tunnels below. Helicopters thread between towers as armored vehicles advance at street level, bringing close-quarters clashes and combined-arms combat together on one map.
Area 51
Area 51 covers the wide-open Nevada desert, where tanks, helicopters, and jets command long sightlines while infantry engage on the ground. A huge crater in the middle leads down to a classified underground complex, where narrow passageways create close-range fights.
European Casino (Phase 2)
European Casino arrives with the Casino Heist update on November 10 as an infantry-focused battleground. Fighting moves through lavish gaming floors and interconnected rooms, with destruction opening new routes through the space.
New Sobek City gets new deployment areas and improved rooftop cover. Blackwell Fields receives changes to its size, HQ deployment, jet takeoff protection, terrain, and a new flag.
New weapons in Season 5
Four weapons are available at launch, covering close-quarters firefights through extreme long-range engagements.
| Weapon | Type | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Mk 24 | Assault Rifle | Lower magazine capacity, strong damage at range |
| RSPR | Submachine Gun | Rifle-like damage, heavier recoil to control |
| Z84M | Light Machine Gun | 100-round box mag, close-range aggression |
| ELR-40 | Bolt-Action Sniper | Extreme long range, best bullet-drag in class |
The ELR-40 has the furthest sweet spot in its archetype, making it well suited to the open sightlines on Area 51. A custom single-shot ammunition option shifts that sweet spot into close range. The NSW4 carbine joins in Phase 2 as a close-range option, and additional weapons, including the MK 1 MOD 8 and a Karambit knife, arrive with the Frozen Aces update.
Rapid Royale and REDSEC changes
REDSEC’s Rapid Royale is designed around brisk, shorter matches. Players can queue in Trios or Solos, with leaner lobbies, valuable loot, and a Ring of Fire that keeps pressure constant; rounds are expected to run about 12 to 15 minutes. Eliminations award redeploys, letting squads return fallen teammates to battle. The mode debuts on Vegas Strip and Mirak Valley, and additional maps are planned for later.
Several systems change for REDSEC players at the start of the season:
- After a crash or disconnect, Reconnect allows you to return to a match that is still in progress.
- Armor plating speeds have been significantly accelerated across all classes.
- Recommended Drop Zones guide newcomers to safer loot spots in Casual BR.
- Training paths have been rebalanced for Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon, while Drone Specialist and Hazmat Breacher paths have been removed.
- Former class gadgets, including the Smoke Launcher, Supply Bag, Defibrillator, Breaching Dart, and Anti-Drone Gun, move into the loot pool.
Gauntlet leaves Battlefield 6 with the launch of Season 5 on October 13, so its final run ends when the season begins.
Dead Space Convergence Event
A Dead Space crossover returns to Battlefield for Halloween through the Convergence Event, a limited-time mode tied to a discovery beneath Area 51. Soldiers uncover a mysterious Marker whose influence spreads, and players plant, defend, and survive against a world-ending Convergence. It is a non-canon PvE event, and it runs from October 20 to November 7.
Casino Heist and Frozen Aces updates
The Casino Heist update on November 10 adds the European Casino map, the Casino Heist event, the REDSEC Elite Series, the NSW4 carbine, the ADS-17 6GHz gadget, and the M142 mobile artillery vehicle.
Frozen Aces follows on December 8 with Operation High Roller, the updated Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City, the B-81 Cavalry vehicle, new weapons, and the Freezeout event. Several long-requested features land here too, including Platoons and the Server Browser.
Platoons arrive in Battlefield 6 and REDSEC as social groups capped at 100 players; members earn XP benefits by playing matches together. The Server Browser makes available servers easier to find, shows both studio-hosted and player-hosted options, and allows players to set up persistent servers with fixed map rotations.
Competitive and multiplayer additions
Season 5 adds a new Ranked Battle Royale season and brings in REDSEC’s Open Series, with the Elite Series arriving in the second phase alongside cash prizes. The Open Series runs across October 24–25, October 31–November 1, and November 7–8, with an Open Series Final on November 21. The Elite Series spans six match days from December 4 through January 9, with Season Finals broadcasts on January 16, 2027.
For multiplayer, Leaderboards give players a new way to track performance and compare progress over time. Across both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC, the season also brings vehicle health regeneration and damage changes, anti-air tuning, attachment adjustments, and a broad weapon balance pass, with the full breakdown landing in the update notes the day before launch.
