Best Gifts in Neverness to Everness (Bond and Affinity Guide)

Gifts are the fastest way to raise Bond Levels in Neverness to Everness. Each character has a small set of favored items that grant a large Affinity boost, plus a universal shortcut that works on the entire launch cast. Spend those slots correctly, and you can clear several Bond milestones a week without grinding side activities.

Quick answer: The single best gift for every character in NTE is A Handwritten Letter, obtained from the Warp Exchange Circle Bounty. It grants roughly +2000 Affinity Points on any character, far above any other item. After that, give each character their two role-specific favorites for the biggest daily gains.

How gifting works in NTE

Gifts are given from a character's Bond menu inside their profile screen. Each gift adds Affinity Points (AP) toward the next Bond Level, and the amount depends entirely on the character's preference, not the item's rarity.

The system has hard daily caps. You can hand out a maximum of 10 gifts per day across your roster, and no more than 3 gifts to the same character in a single day. The counter resets at daily server reset.

Favored items grant a sharply higher payout than neutral ones. A favorite gift typically returns +400 AP for a common item or up to +2000 AP for an event reward like the Handwritten Letter, while a non-favored gift of the same rarity often returns only +50 to +200 AP. Saving inventory space for matched items is more efficient than spamming whatever you have.

The universal best gift: A Handwritten Letter

A Handwritten Letter is the only gift in the game that every romanceable character treats as a top favorite. It grants +2000 AP per use, which is enough to clear most early Bond Levels in a single gift. Stockpile it before anything else.

You earn Handwritten Letters from the Warp Exchange Circle Bounty shop. Spend Circle Bounty currency on Letters first whenever inventory is available, then move to other rewards. Because every character accepts it at the maximum rate, it lets you push multiple bonds forward without farming character-specific items.

Tip: If you are unsure which character to commit to, default to a Handwritten Letter. It never wastes value.

Best gift per character

Every character has the Handwritten Letter as a top-tier favorite, so the table below lists their best non-Letter favorite and the source where you reliably get it. Slot Letters first, then fill the remaining two daily slots per character with these items.

Multi-character gifts worth stocking

A few items appear on multiple favorites lists, which makes them efficient to farm in bulk if you are building several bonds in parallel.

If your roster includes several characters who share a favorite, prioritize those items over single-use buys. One stack of Floe Cinema Tickets can cover four bonds in a single day.

How to spend the daily 10 gifts

Step 1: Pick the two or three characters you want to push first. Spreading gifts across the full roster slows every bond.

Step 2: Give each priority character one Handwritten Letter. That uses one slot per character for roughly +2000 AP each, the biggest single return available.

Step 3: Fill the remaining two daily slots per character with their named favorite from the table above. A typical day looks like 1 Letter plus 2 favorites on three characters, totaling 9 of the 10 daily gifts.

Step 4: Hand out the last gift to a fourth character if you have one in mid-progress. Skip it entirely if no character is close to a Bond Level threshold, since wasted gifts on disliked items return very little AP.

You will know each gift registered when the Affinity bar animates upward and a confirmation pop-up shows the AP gained. Daily counter increments by one each time and locks at 10 until reset.

What Bond Levels unlock

Each character has up to 10 Bond Levels, and key thresholds unlock new interactions or full date scenes. The list of which characters get which unlocks is fixed at launch.

6 - Close FriendsSpecial Interactions, extra date optionsChiz, Fadia, Jiuyuan, Mint, Nanally
8 - HeartbondUnique character date encounterMint, Nanally

Aurelia is currently capped at Bond Level 2 and cannot progress beyond Shotgun Riding and Sidekick Showdown until a later patch raises her cap. If a unique Heartbond date is the goal, Mint and Nanally are the only two characters who deliver it right now.

Faster alternatives when you run out of gifts

After the 10-gift cap is hit, three other actions still grant Bond EXP for the rest of the day:

  • Run quests with the character in your active party. Mission completions credit a small amount of Bond EXP to every party member.
  • Reply to Bond Text Messages. Messages with a white-heart icon trigger a short activity that grants a noticeable Bond EXP chunk on completion.
  • Invite a character to your apartment or a date spot once you have unlocked Home Invitations or City Hangouts at Bond Level 4. The photo-memory interactions each award Bond EXP per location.

Combining these with daily gifting is what pushes a single character from Bond Level 0 to 8 in the shortest realistic timeframe. The Letter does the heavy lifting on raw AP, while quests and messages cover the smaller increments between thresholds.

Treat the Handwritten Letter as the anchor of your daily routine and use shared favorites like Floe Cinema Tickets and Blue Fable to economize the rest. With the 10-per-day cap, the difference between a planned and random gifting schedule is roughly a full Bond Level per week per character.
