Best Prune teams in Genshin Impact (Version 6.6)

Prune slots into Genshin Impact as a 4-star Anemo catalyst support whose main job is buffing teamwide ATK and shredding elemental resistance through Viridescent Venerer. She debuts alongside Nicole on the Version 6.6 Phase 1 banner, sharing rate-up with Durin's rerun, and her value scales heavily with her own ATK rather than talent levels.

Quick answer: Prune's strongest team is Varka, Durin, Nicole, Prune, where she replaces Venti as the Anemo buffer and runs 4-piece Viridescent Venerer for RES shred.

How Prune functions in a team

Prune's Elemental Skill triggers Swirl and converts her Banehunter Oathhammer to the swirled element, which then activates Tolling Rally. That buff raises nearby teammates' Normal, Charged, Plunging, Skill, and Burst damage based on Prune's excess ATK. Her Burst summons the Witchlure Bell, a follower attack that deals continuous AoE Anemo damage and keeps Swirl reactions ticking off-field.

Because the buff scales on ATK and not talent levels, most players invest in her character level, ATK% main stats, and Energy Recharge rather than pushing her talents past baseline. The Hexerei tag matters too. When a second Hexerei unit is on the team, Prune's support effects upgrade, which is why Durin and Nicole show up in nearly every recommended roster.

Varka premium team

This is the headline composition for Prune. Varka's slower attack speed gives Prune clean windows to trigger Swirl and apply Tolling Rally, and Durin plus Nicole satisfy the Hexerei requirement while feeding Prune's ATK.

Rotation runs Durin Skill twice and Burst, then Nicole Skill and Burst, then Prune Skill twice and Burst, before swapping to Varka for tapped Skill, Normal and Charged Attacks, and a Burst window before buffs fall off. Repeating this loop keeps Tolling Rally and Viridescent Venerer's RES shred uptime stacked on Varka.

If you don't own Varka, Venti is the only other unit confirmed to pair cleanly with Prune from her showcase, though his own ATK buff partially overlaps with hers. For the Durin slot, Mavuika or Pyro Traveler can carry the Scroll set, and Citlali works if paired with another Cryo unit to keep Varka's elemental condition active. Bennett or Mika fit the Nicole spot when you need an ATK buffer or attack-speed booster with healing.

Note: When swapping out Varka's teammates, keep the same element distribution so his damage boost condition stays active.

Hexerei DPS team with Lohen

If you pulled for Lohen instead of Varka, Prune still slots in as the Anemo support. Lohen, as a Cryo Hexerei DPS, leans on the same backline structure, and Prune contributes Swirl reactions plus Viridescent Venerer's Cryo RES shred.

SupportPruneAnemo bufferViridescent Venerer (4pc)
Sub-DPSDurinPyro off-fieldNoblesse Oblige (4pc)

The rotation is nearly identical to the Varka build. Open with Durin's Skill and Burst, follow with Nicole's full kit, set up Prune's two Skill casts and Burst, then drop Lohen for Normal Attacks, his special Skill once Joy fills, and the Burst when Will to Win caps. Any Hexerei DPS works in the main slot, so Klee or Razor can swap in if you're missing Lohen.

For the Durin slot, Xilonen, Venti, or Kazuha all fit if you want different elemental damage buffs or extra RES shred. Avoid stacking another Anemo unit, since Prune is already holding the Viridescent Venerer set. Zhongli covers the Nicole slot when you want a shield and Geo RES shred over raw ATK scaling.

Non-Hexerei DPS team

Prune still works outside of Hexerei rosters, but she loses access to the upgraded Mortal Hymn variant of the Celestial Gift buff. In these comps, swap her artifact priority to Celestial Gift if no other teammate is holding it, and bring at least one Hexerei sub-DPS to keep some of her buffs online.

Realistic pairings include Klee, Razor, or other ATK-scaling DPS units who benefit from teamwide ATK boosts. Mona enables nuke setups through her Omen, while Fischl provides off-field Electro for reaction coverage. Treat Prune here as a flexible Anemo support rather than a centerpiece, since her ceiling drops without the Hexerei tag-team effect.

Prune is on rate-up with Nicole and Durin until June 9, 2026, after which she joins the standard pool starting in Version 6.7. Pulling her into either of the two premium teams above gives the cleanest payoff, but she remains a usable Anemo support in most ATK-scaling rosters thanks to her teamwide buff and Viridescent Venerer access.
