The yellow maze is one of the first real teamwork tests in Big Walk, and it hands you a gourd for the Red Tower once you clear it. You solve it in co-op by splitting up inside the maze, carrying a wind-up timer from one side to the other, and dropping it into a green pot before the clock runs out.
Quick answer: One player grabs the wind-up timer on the left path, passes it through a hole in the maze wall to the second player on the right path, and that player places it into the green pot’s indent before the timer hits zero. The gourd then drops near the maze entrance.
Where the yellow maze sits in the Red Tower run
After you cross the red bridge and reach the Red Tower, the second region of the game, the terminal at the top asks you to collect five gourds before it releases its key. The yellow maze is one of those five puzzles, and it sits in the second section along the shoreline. Climb to the top of the tower and use your binoculars to spot the maze below before heading down to it.

This puzzle is built around a two-player split. You need one person on each side of the maze, and clear voice communication helps you line up the hand-off through the wall. With larger parties the core logic stays the same, so you still only need two people actively running the timer relay.
Solving the yellow maze step by step

Claim the gourd and confirm the puzzle is done
When the timer lands in the pot in time, the puzzle registers as complete and a gourd drops to the ground back at the maze entrance. Both players should head back to the entrance and pick it up.

Carry the gourd back up to the top of the Red Tower and drop it into one of the terminal’s containers. That fills one of the five slots and moves you a step closer to releasing the tower’s key.
Why the timer runs out before you finish
The whole puzzle hinges on the countdown that starts the moment the timer is picked up. If you fail, it is almost always because too much time was lost between grabbing the timer and reaching the pot.
- The players used different holes, so the hand-off couldn’t happen through the wall.
- The right-side player wasn’t already waiting at the pot when the timer came through.
- The timer was carried the long way instead of passed at the nearest opening.
If the countdown expires, the timer resets to its starting spot on the left path and you simply pick it up and try the relay again. Once you have this gourd, the yellow maze is behind you, and you can move on to the remaining Red Tower puzzles to finish the terminal and earn the map.
