Black Flag Resynced: How to Get Voynich Manuscript Folio 34v in Havana

The Folio 34v page sits inside a hidden Secret chest in Havana, revealed once you sync the city's viewpoints.

The Folio 34v page sits inside a hidden Secret chest in Havana, revealed once you sync the city’s viewpoints.

Voynich Manuscript – Folio 34v is a Manuscript collectible in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and it comes from a single Secret chest tucked inside the city of Havana. It counts toward both Havana’s completion bar and the game’s full set of 20 Manuscripts, so it matters if you are chasing 100 percent.

Quick answer: Climb and synchronize Havana’s viewpoints to reveal the city’s Secret markers on your map, then travel to the Voynich Manuscript Secret chest and open it. You will know you are in the right spot because a cat you can pet sits beside the chest.

What Folio 34v is and where it sits

Folio 34v is one page of the Voynich Manuscript, and it is filed under the Manuscript collectible category. The reward drops from a Secret chest, which is a hidden loot container that only appears on your map once the surrounding area is scouted from a viewpoint.

The chest is inside Havana proper rather than the western Cape Bonavista half of the island. Havana and Cape Bonavista use separate collectible trackers, so make sure your map is set to the Havana side before you go hunting.

Reveal the Secret chest with Havana’s viewpoints

Secret chests stay hidden until you synchronize the viewpoints around them. Havana has nine viewpoints, most of them on top of church bell towers, plus a windmill and a couple of fort towers. Working through them uncovers the Secret markers, including the Voynich Manuscript chest.

Land at the Havana dock and head toward the center of town. The first viewpoint is on the yellow church bell tower along that main road, so climb it and sync.

Clear the remaining bell-tower viewpoints across the north, west, and southeast of the city. Each sync fills in more of the map and exposes nearby Secrets.
Sync the guarded points as well, including the windmill in the far northwest, the dilapidated fort in the northeast, and the tower on the Templar manor. These are alarmed areas, so stay unseen. Once the map is uncovered, the Secret markers you need are visible.

Tip: The nine viewpoints cluster tightly in the city, so a single sweep on foot and across rooftops is usually enough to light up every Secret at once.

Reach and open the Voynich Manuscript chest

Havana’s Secrets are treasure containers scattered through canals, walled courtyards, guarded estates, and the two Spanish forts. Several sit behind soldiers, so the safest approach is over the rooftops and through the bushes, dropping in only to loot once you are clear.

Fast travel or run to the Voynich Manuscript Secret marker once it is on your map. Look for the cat sitting near the chest, which is the giveaway that you have found the correct one.
If guards are patrolling, thin them out quietly. Use rooftop approaches and bush cover to assassinate soldiers when they are not watching each other, then move in.
Interact with the chest to open it. The Voynich Manuscript – Folio 34v is added to your collectibles, and you can pet the cat while you are there.

How to confirm you claimed it

After opening the chest, the pickup notification names the reward as Voynich Manuscript – Folio 34v, and the Havana Secret marker switches to a found state. Your Manuscript count also ticks up toward the total of 20.

RequirementSync Havana viewpoints to reveal the Secret

If the chest never shows on your map, the most common reason is an unsynced viewpoint near that part of Havana. Return to any bell tower, fort tower, or the windmill you skipped, sync it, and the Secret marker will appear so you can finish the grab.
