Black Ops 7: How to Get the Free Season 5 Battle Pass

Playing one Modern Warfare 4 Beta match during Weekend One unlocks the Season 5 Battle Pass at no cost, or 10 Tier Skips if you already own it.

Playing one Modern Warfare 4 Beta match during Weekend One unlocks the Season 5 Battle Pass at no cost, or 10 Tier Skips if you already own it.

Log back into Black Ops 7 after spending time in the Modern Warfare 4 Beta and you may find the Season 5 Battle Pass already unlocked, or a stack of free Tier Skips sitting in your account. That is not a bug. It is a reward for players who jump into the MW4 Beta during its first weekend.

Quick answer: Play at least one Multiplayer match in the Modern Warfare 4 Beta during Weekend One (August 21–24) while signed into the Activision ID that links your platforms, then return to Black Ops 7. The Season 5 Battle Pass unlocks automatically.

What you need before it triggers

The reward moves between games through your Activision ID, so both titles must be tied to the same account. If your Modern Warfare 4 Beta progress and your Black Ops 7 account are not linked, the Battle Pass will not carry over.

  • Access to the Modern Warfare 4 Beta during Weekend One, which runs August 21–24.
  • A single Activision ID connecting your platforms across Modern Warfare 4 and Black Ops 7.
  • Black Ops 7 installed and updated to the Season 5 Reloaded build.

You can confirm or connect your account through your Call of Duty profile and linked accounts page before you queue into the Beta.

How to unlock the free Season 5 Battle Pass

Launch the Modern Warfare 4 Beta and sign in with the Activision ID that is attached to your Black Ops 7 account. Using a different or unlinked account breaks the connection the reward relies on.
Play one full match of Multiplayer during Weekend One. A single game is enough to register participation.
Close the Beta and load back into Black Ops 7. As soon as you reach the main menu, the Season 5 Battle Pass unlocks on its own with no purchase required.

If you already own the Season 5 Battle Pass

Players who have already claimed the Season 5 Battle Pass in Black Ops 7 receive 10 Tier Skips instead of the pass itself. Those skips apply straight to your current progress.

There is no way to convert the free Battle Pass or the Tier Skips into COD Points. If you have already finished the entire Battle Pass, the Tier Skips have nothing left to advance, so you will not gain extra rewards from them.

Your Season 5 statusWhat you receive
Battle Pass not yet claimedFull Season 5 Battle Pass, free
Battle Pass already claimed10 Tier Skips, free
Battle Pass fully completed10 Tier Skips with no remaining tiers to apply

How to confirm the reward landed

Open the Battle Pass menu in Black Ops 7. If the reward applied, the Season 5 pass shows as owned and its pages are available to progress, or your Tier Skips will have already pushed you forward if you held the pass beforehand.

If nothing changed, the most common cause is an account mismatch. Check that the Activision ID used in the Modern Warfare 4 Beta is the same one linked to your Black Ops 7 platform, and that your Multiplayer match was played inside the Weekend One window rather than after it closed.

The Season 5 Battle Pass carries plenty of cosmetics, but the standout unlock is the return of the classic FG42. If you are claiming the pass for free, that assault rifle is worth building around once it lands in your loadout.
