The character meta in Bleach Soul Resonance has settled into a clear hierarchy under Version 1.0.2. Three units sit above everything else, a deep S tier covers most endgame teams, and the lower tiers are mainly early-game filler. The rankings below tell you who deserves your resources first across story, boss raids, and PvP.
Full Bleach Soul Resonance tier list (Version 1.0.2)
Characters use three role types and four damage types. The roles are Full Assault (DPS), Support (buffs and healing), and Tactic (crowd control and debuffs). The damage types are Slash, Spirit, Strike, and Thrust. Stacking shared damage types in one team triggers passive bonuses, so most strong compositions are built around a single type.

SSS tier: The meta-defining units
These three define the ceiling of the current roster. Each fills a different role, so together they form the strongest universal core in the game.
Ichigo Kurosaki (Bankai) — Full Assault, Slash, SSR
Ichigo remains the top main DPS. His Bankai form chains fast sword combos with Getsuga Tensho, his ultimate slash wave that hits all enemies in a line for 450% attack damage. Iframe dodges between strikes keep him alive, and his Resolve passive auto-revives him once per battle at 30% health with an attack boost. His Hollowfication state adds new skills and automatic counterattacks, which is why he carries both raid and PvP teams.

Aizen Sosuke — Tactic, Spirit, SSR
Aizen shifted the meta toward control. His Kyoka Suigetsu inflicts Illusion and Confusion, and his ultimate, Complete Hypnosis, confuses every enemy for 6 seconds while dealing 380% Spirit damage and forcing them to attack each other. Supreme Intellect cuts enemy defense by 25% for 10 seconds, and Immortal Soul gives him passive healing below 50% HP. No other unit disables a full enemy formation as cleanly.
Kisuke Urahara — Support, Spirit, SSR
Kisuke is the most flexible support in the game and fits any team. His Reishi Analysis passive stacks a team-wide attack buff, and his ultimate adds a large critical damage bonus along with a barrier that absorbs damage equal to 500% of his attack power. He also shields the lowest-HP ally automatically and reduces cooldowns for nearby allies. He does not need duplicates to be effective, which makes him the single best pull for new accounts.

You pull for these units using spiritual jade or gacha tickets, with each pull costing 160 spiritual jade or one ticket. The hard pity for the featured SSR on a banner is 80 pulls, so save resources for the SSS-tier characters before spending on anyone lower.
S tier: Elite team carries
S-tier units clear all content when built correctly and anchor type-specific teams. Most of them are SSR DPS or control characters.
| Character | Role / Type | What they do |
|---|---|---|
| Toshiro Hitsugaya | Tactic / Spirit (Ice) | Premier Spirit DPS. Applies Freeze constantly and uses Hyoten Hyakkaso for some of the highest burst in the game. Pairs with Rukia. |
| Yoruichi Shihoin | Full Assault / Strike | Top Strike DPS with Flash Step counters and Shunko burst. Excels at deleting priority targets in PvP. |
| Byakuya Kuchiki | Support / Slash | Strong off-field Battlefield Skill user and Slash sub-DPS. Lowers enemy Slash resistance and raises team defense. |
| Soi Fon | Full Assault / Thrust | Single-target assassin. Her Nigeki Kessatsu marks a target, then deals 800% Thrust damage with an instant-kill threshold below 25% HP. |
| Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck | Full Assault / Spirit | Self-sustaining beast-type DPS with Cero lifesteal and a Resurrección form for solo clears of long fights. |
| Mayuri Kurotsuchi | Tactic / Spirit | Poison and disruption specialist. Stacks lasting debuffs and counters healers and mobile targets in attrition fights. |
| Gin Ichimaru | Full Assault / Thrust | High-speed Thrust DPS with perfect-dodge invincible strikes and a high-penetration ultimate that melts priority targets. |

A tier: Reliable team staples
A-tier picks are strong on the right team, especially type-matched compositions, and remain useful well into the mid and late game.
| Character | Role / Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Kaname Tosen | Sub-DPS / Thrust | Best Battlefield Skill user for Thrust Mono teams. Stacks Wound and resets his cooldowns with his ultimate. |
| Ikkaku Madarame | Full Assault / Thrust | Strong Thrust main DPS with AoE clears and a Bankai finisher. Synergizes with Tosen's Wound stacks. |
| Yachiru Kusajishi | Support / Slash | Focused SR attack buffer for Slash teams. Pairs directly with Ichigo (Bankai). |
| Kenpachi Zaraki | Full Assault / Strike | Raw melee bruiser that grows stronger the longer a fight runs. |
| Rangiku Matsumoto | Support | Wide utility, light crowd control, and area damage for balanced teams. |
| Rukia Kuchiki | Sub-DPS / Spirit | Freeze crowd control and a flexible Battlefield Skill for Spirit teams. |
| Orihime Inoue | Support / Spirit | Universal healer and shielder, mainly useful when a team lacks sustain. |
B and C tiers: Early-game and situational units
These characters can carry you through story content but get outclassed once you build a proper SSR core. The C tier in particular should not receive long-term investment.
| Tier | Character | Why it ranks here |
|---|---|---|
| B | Sajin Komamura | Reliable shielder that carries protection to switched-in allies, but low personal damage. |
| B | Uryu Ishida | Best SR damage option with long-range AoE and a filler team buff. |
| B | Ichigo Kurosaki (Shikai) | Usable main DPS but lacks off-field presence and is easily replaced. |
| B | Nemu Kurotsuchi | Low-rarity support with weak assist value. |
| B | Ururu Tsumugiya | Fun ranged playstyle but very low damage. |
| C | Ichigo Kurosaki (Initial) | Starter unit with weak stats. Replace as soon as possible. |
| C | Yasutora Sado (Chad) | Tanky with flashy animations but minimal damage or utility. |
| C | Renji Abarai | DOT and burst AoE, but poor sustained damage and easily outclassed. |

How to prioritize your pulls
Aim Kisuke Urahara first since he raises the damage of nearly every team without duplicates. Add Ichigo Kurosaki (Bankai) as your main DPS, then fill the third slot with a type-matched partner such as Byakuya for a Slash team or Aizen for a control-heavy setup. The strongest general composition right now pairs Ichigo (Bankai), Kisuke, and Byakuya.
For Thrust teams, build Ikkaku with Kaname Tosen and Kisuke. For Strike teams, run Yoruichi with Sajin Komamura and Kisuke. For Spirit teams, Toshiro with Rukia and Kisuke gives you both freeze control and high damage. Keep your resources focused on the SSS and S units, and treat the lower tiers as temporary support while you build toward that core.
