Blightsculler is a rare beast that spawns underwater in Tirisfal Glades, the Forsaken starting zone in the Eastern Kingdoms. It sits well off the questing path, so most players leveling through Deathknell never see it. The creature is low level, holds a small health pool, and drops a mix of early leather, mail, and cloth gear alongside common water junk.

Quick answer: Blightsculler swims in the lake northwest of Deathknell, past the mountain pass near Balnir Keep and the Whispering Forest. It is a level 10 rare beast with 208 health.

The model is a long, serpentine sea creature with a rotted, undead look, closer to a plagued lake monster than to the wolves and spiders that fill the rest of the zone. Because it is classified as a Beast rather than an Undead, Hunters can attempt to tame it instead of killing it.

How to reach the Blightsculler spawn from Deathknell

Start in Deathknell, the Forsaken starting village in southwestern Tirisfal Glades. Open your map and locate the Whispering Forest area to the northwest, along with Balnir Keep and the body of water beside it.

Travel northwest out of Deathknell and follow the mountain pass that cuts toward Balnir Keep. The route stays on land the whole way, so no swimming is needed until you reach the shoreline.

Stop on the grassy ridge that overlooks the lake. From up here you can usually spot Blightsculler moving just below the surface, and you can target it from dry land before committing to the swim.

Jump into the lake and swim out toward the marker. Blightsculler patrols in open water rather than hugging the bank, so expect a short swim before it comes into range.

Vile Fin murlocs live along this stretch of coast, including Vile Fin Scuttlers. They can add to the fight or catch you on the swim back, so clear your exit path before you pull.

Killing Blightsculler underwater

Dive down to bring the rare into melee or spell range. The tooltip confirms the name, the rare classification, and the Beast type when you hover or target it directly.

At 208 health, the fight is short for anyone around the zone’s level range. Keep an eye on your breath meter while you fight, and drift upward as you attack so the kill lands at or near the surface. That also makes the corpse easier to reach for looting.

You will know the kill registered when the corpse becomes lootable and the loot window opens with the rare’s name at the top. Hunters chasing the tame instead should use Tame Beast rather than opening with damage, since the creature’s Beast family is what makes it eligible.

Because the armor pieces sit in the 9 to 12 item level band, Blightsculler is worth a detour mainly while you are still questing through Tirisfal Glades. Once you outgrow Deathknell and move toward Brill, the drops stop being upgrades, and the swim is only worth repeating for the tame or for the rare’s unusual model.
