Blox Fruits: How to Complete the Colosseum Statues Secret in Sea 1

Match each statue's pose with the right attack type, then collect a huge EXP payout from Ulysses.

Match each statue’s pose with the right attack type, then collect a huge EXP payout from Ulysses.

The Colosseum island in Sea 1 hides a puzzle built around four stone statues, each one frozen mid-pose with a different weapon. The statues only respond to attacks that match what they are holding, and hitting them with the wrong thing does nothing at all. Light up all four and the Colosseum Quest Giver hands over one of the largest single EXP rewards available in the first sea.

Quick answer: Hit the sword statue with a sword, the fruit statue with a Blox Fruit move, the gun statue with a firearm, and the fist statue with your fighting style. When all four sets of eyes are glowing, talk to Ulysses to claim the reward.

What each Colosseum statue needs

Every statue is a lock, and your loadout is the key. The pose tells you which slot to switch to, and the eye color confirms the hit registered. You need all four attack types available before you start, so check your loadout for a sword, an equipped fruit, a gun, and a fighting style.

Statue poseAttack that worksEye color when active
Holding a swordAny sword weaponGreen
Holding a Blox FruitA fruit ability (Dragon, Rocket, Tiger)Purple
Holding a gunA firearm such as the Flintlock or Dual FlintlockBlue
Raised fistsMelee attacks from your fighting styleYellow

Note: this is separate from the Colosseum Quest that Bartilo gives out in the Kingdom of Rose. That one belongs to the Second Sea and involves a rune code. The statues are a Sea 1 secret and need no quest to be active first.

Activate all four statues

Equip a sword and walk up to the statue holding a blade. Land normal M1 swings or a sword move on it until the eyes turn green. Any sword works, so there is no need to bring a specific one.

A sword equipped in the hotbar, here the Cursed Dual Katana, is all the sword statue asks for.
Switch to your fruit and hit the statue clutching a Blox Fruit. A direct damaging move is the safest option, since abilities that mostly reposition you may not connect. The eyes glow purple once it takes the hit.

Pull out a gun and shoot the statue posed with a firearm. A basic Flintlock or Dual Flintlock is enough, and the eyes flip to blue on a clean shot.

Unequip your weapon and punch the statue with raised fists using your fighting style. Combat and any other melee style both register, and yellow eyes mean the final statue is done.

When a statue refuses to light up

Almost every failed attempt comes down to the damage type. A sword swing on the fist statue, or a fighting style combo on the gun statue, registers as nothing. Look at the object in the statue’s hands again and match your slot to it exactly.

Fruit users hit the other common snag. If your current fruit’s moves keep missing the fruit statue, swap to one with a straightforward damaging attack. Rocket’s Missile Fist on Z is a reliable option and can be picked up cheaply from the fruit shop.

Claim the reward from Ulysses

With all four statues glowing, a system message confirms the puzzle is solved: “The Former Champions salute you! Claim your reward from the quest giver.” That line is your proof the sequence worked, so do not go looking for a chest or a cutscene.

Head to Ulysses, the Colosseum Quest Giver standing on the island, and interact with him. The payout is enormous in absolute terms. One player at Lv. 2778 collected 834,954,217 EXP from it and climbed five levels in a row, from 2779 up to 2783.

Where this fits in the Sea 1 island secrets

The statue puzzle is one of 40 island secrets spread across the 16 islands of Sea 1 following the Update 30 rework. Each secret you finish awards a star, and collecting all 40 unlocks the Teleporter in Middletown. The rewards across these secrets cover EXP, money, gems, and stat points, which is how players push past the standard level cap.

Because the Colosseum version needs no quest chain, no level gate, and no boss fight, it is one of the fastest stars on the board. Bring a sword, a fruit, a gun, and a fighting style in one loadout and the whole thing takes about a minute.
