Blox Fruits Update 30: How to Complete the Volcano Island 3-Star Puzzles

Magma Village is one of the more demanding islands in the reworked First Sea, mostly because its three secrets are spread across a lava pool, a hidden mine, and a timed volcano event. All three funnel back to the same NPC, The Mayor, who hands over the stars that mark the island as finished.

Quick answer: Break the magma source in the lava pool and kill the giant Magma Elemental, destroy the Magma Drill inside Volcano Cave and escape before the timer expires, then shatter the glowing magma spots on the volcano and defeat Magma General (Awakened) [Lv. 350]. Talk to The Mayor after each one to claim the star.

The three Volcano Island secrets and where they start

Each secret has its own trigger point, and two of them only open up after you speak to the right NPC. Nothing counts until you report back.

Secret 1: Clear the Magma Elementals at the lava pool

Head to the lava pool close to the island’s dock. You will see a crater or mound in the middle of it spitting out Mini Magma Elementals that wander off and set nearby scenery alight.

Kill every small elemental in the area first. They are weak, but they keep respawning attention away from the crater if you ignore them.

Attack the central magma source a few times. It transforms into a much larger Magma Elemental that splits into copies as you damage it.

Finish off the large elemental and every split copy it leaves behind. Reward notifications appear on screen once the last one goes down.

Walk back to The Mayor and talk to him. He hands over the reward and the island’s first star.

Secret 2: Destroy the Magma Drill in Volcano Cave

Find the Hidden Sword Dealer, a Living Skeleton NPC, and talk to him. He asks you to shut down a drill running inside the volcano, which is what flags the objective.

Go to the mine entrance around the back edge of the island, on the opposite side from the lava pool, and ride the elevator down into Volcano Cave.

Move forward past the workers and climb to the top of the scaffolding. Wait there a moment and the Magma Drill event starts.

Break the drill with your attacks. Any fruit, sword, or fighting style works, so hit it as fast as you can.

Escape the cave before the timer runs out, then speak to The Mayor for the second star. If the timer beats you to the exit, the objective does not register and you have to run the cave again.

Secret 3: Trigger the eruption and beat the awakened boss

This is the one you cannot force. The awakened boss on each island only has a chance to spawn on an hourly cycle, so you check first and then wait for the window.

Travel to Middle Town and find the Secrets Master NPC inside the main building. Ask which boss stirs next. You are looking for a reply that points at Magma Village.

Sail or teleport back to Magma Village and go to the volcano. The boss event runs on its own timer, so you may need to stand by for it to begin.

Destroy every glowing magma spot stuck to the outside of the volcano. Flight or a long-range move saves a lot of time here, since the pockets are scattered all the way around and up the slope.

Once the last spot breaks, the eruption cinematic plays and the way inside opens. Head in and engage Magma General (Awakened) [Lv. 350].

Keep moving during the fight. The boss throws out wide fire attacks, and standing still in the lava arena is what usually ends runs early.

After the boss dies, return to The Mayor and claim the third star.

How to confirm Magma Village is complete

When the third star is claimed, the island reads MAGMA VILLAGE COMPLETED on the map screen. That is the only confirmation you need. If the map still shows a missing star, one of the three objectives was finished but never turned in at The Mayor.

The payoff is twofold. Each secret you hand in grants extra levels that push past the normal cap, with Update 30 raising the ceiling to Level 3000, and finishing all three stars on an island unlocks it as a destination on the Middle Town teleporter. Across the First Sea there are 40 stars in total.

Why a Magma Village secret is not triggering

The star was never claimed. Completing the objective is only half of it; The Mayor has to hand it to you.
The drill run timed out. If you are still in Volcano Cave when the escape timer expires, the second secret does not count.
The awakened boss is not in rotation. The Secrets Master has to point to Magma Village, otherwise the volcano event will not start no matter how many magma spots you hit.
Magma spots are still intact. The eruption only fires once every glowing pocket on the volcano’s exterior is destroyed, including the ones on the far side.

Realistically, the lava pool and the drill can both be knocked out in a single visit. It is the awakened boss that decides how long the island takes, so check in with the Secrets Master before you make the trip and use the wait to clear the other two stars.
