Blox Fruits Update 30: How to Complete Volcano Island’s 3 Star Puzzle

Every requirement, trigger, and reward for earning all three Magma Village stars in Blox Fruits Update 30.

Every requirement, trigger, and reward for earning all three Magma Village stars in Blox Fruits Update 30.

Volcano Island, labeled Magma Village on the world map, holds three of the 40 Island Secrets added to Sea 1 in Blox Fruits Update 30. Each one you finish awards a star and a chunk of secret levels from The Mayor, the levels that let you push past the old 2,800 grinding cap toward 3,000. All three stars mark the island as complete and register it in the Middle Town teleporter.

Quick answer: Break the crater in the lava pool and kill every Magma Elemental, destroy the Magma Drill at the top of Volcano Cave, then wait for the Secrets Master to name Magma Village, smash the glowing magma pockets on the volcano’s outside, and defeat Magma General (Awakened). Claim a star from The Mayor after each.

Volcano Island, listed as Magma Village, holds three separate secrets tied to one star each.

Magma Village star requirements

The three secrets are independent. You can do them in any order, but the boss star depends on a timer you do not control, so it is usually the last one to fall into place.

1Break the central magma source and kill every elemental, including the giant oneLava pool near the dock
2Trigger and destroy the Magma Drill, then escapeVolcano Cave, entered via the mine elevator at the back edge of the island
3Destroy the exterior magma spots and defeat Magma General (Awakened) [Lv. 350]Outside and inside the volcano, after a Secrets Master timer

Every star is turned in at The Mayor, the island’s quest giver. He hands out the reward levels, so nothing counts until you talk to him.

Star 1: Clear the lava pool elementals

Head to the lava pool close to the dock. Mini Magma Elementals wander out of the crater in the middle of it and set the nearby trees on fire, which is how you know you are in the right spot.
Kill the small elementals first. They die quickly, and thinning them out gives you room to work on the crater without being surrounded.
Attack the central magma source several times. It cracks open and spawns one large elemental, which is the real target of this secret.

Breaking the crater in the lava pool spawns the large elemental that must be cleared for the first star.
Finish the giant elemental and mop up any smaller ones still standing. Then return to The Mayor, who confirms the nest is gone and hands over the first star.

Star 2: Destroy the Magma Drill in Volcano Cave

Speak to the Hidden Sword Dealer, the Living Skeleton NPC near the shop. He complains about a grinding noise deep under the mountain and asks you to stop a drill that is tearing the island apart from the inside.
Walk to the mine entrance on the back edge of the island, roughly opposite the lava pool, and step onto the elevator. It takes you down into Volcano Cave and a short cutscene plays.
Move straight ahead through the cave, then climb the ladders and chains to the top. Reaching the upper level is what triggers the Magma Drill to appear, so nothing spawns if you stay at the bottom.
Attack the Magma Drill until it breaks. A prompt reading “The drill is down! Claim your reward from the quest giver.” confirms the objective registered.

Any high-damage moveset works on the drill; here Dragonstorm is doing the demolition.
Get out. The lift behind the drill starts running once the shaking stops, so ride it back to the surface and talk to The Mayor for the second star.

Star 3: Awakened boss timer, magma spots, and Magma General

This one is gated behind a rotating spawn window. Awakened bosses stir on a schedule across Sea 1, and the Secrets Master is the only way to see which island is next.

Go to Middle Town and enter the central building, then head up to the Secrets Master on the upper level. Ask which boss stirs next.

The Secrets Master sits inside the main Middle Town building, just past the fountain square.
Check the answer. If he says the next one to stir is Magma Village, he also gives you a countdown, such as “Give it about 3 minute(s).” If he names a different island, you have to wait for the rotation to come back around.
Sail or teleport back to Volcano Island and be standing there when the timer runs out. The lava stops flowing and a cinematic plays, which is your cue that the volcano is active.
Go outside and circle the volcano, destroying every glowing magma pocket stuck to its exterior. Clearing all of them triggers the eruption.
Head back inside and fight Magma General (Awakened) [Lv. 350]. Finish it off, then return to The Mayor for the third star and the “MAGMA VILLAGE COMPLETED” confirmation.

Why a Magma Village secret does not trigger

Each secret has one specific trigger, and skipping it is the usual reason a star never shows up.

  • The giant elemental never spawns. Killing only the mini elementals does nothing. The central magma source in the pool has to be broken.
  • The drill is not in the cave. It appears only after you climb to the top of Volcano Cave, so the lower area will look empty until then.
  • The boss will not appear. Magma General (Awakened) only stirs during its own window, and only after every glowing magma spot on the volcano’s exterior is destroyed.
  • No reward levels. Objectives complete on their own, but the star and the secret levels are only granted when you talk to The Mayor afterward.

Once all three stars are logged, Magma Village stops being a stop on the way to the Second Sea and becomes a teleport destination in Middle Town, plus a chunk of progress toward the 40 stars scattered across Sea 1.
