Flight speed is the stat that quietly decides how much of Breathedge 2 you can see before your oxygen runs low, and Déjà vu is one of the earliest permanent upgrades to it. There is no quest marker for it, no NPC hands it to you, and nothing in the journal points you toward it. You just have to know where the wrecked bus is parked in the Outskirts and what to do once you’re sitting in it.
Quick answer: Exit the starting station, float down into the debris field until you reach two red square structures, enter the left cabin, sit in the driver’s seat, and turn the steering wheel with your movement keys. The “DÉJÀ VU” pop-up appears immediately and grants Flight speed +5% permanently.
Déjà vu achievement: Requirement, bonus, and location
Achievements in Breathedge 2 double as stat upgrades, and the game spells out both halves on the achievement card once it unlocks. Here is what Déjà vu actually asks for and pays out.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Achievement | Déjà vu |
| Requirement | “Play bus driver” |
| Bonus | Flight speed +5% |
| Area | Outskirts, below the starting station |
| Interaction | Sit in the bus driver’s seat, then turn the wheel |
| Repeatable | No — one-time unlock, permanent bonus |
The bonus applies to your character’s flight speed in zero-g, so it stacks with everything else you’re carrying and never expires. It is worth grabbing early precisely because the rest of the Outskirts involves a lot of slow drifting between wreckage.

The trip is short, but it takes you out of the warm interior and into open space, so two things matter. Top off your oxygen at the ship or a repaired public oxygen station first, and make sure you have cold protection on your suit before you push off. Freezing and suffocation are both quick deaths out here, and the bus sits far enough down that a return trip on fumes isn’t fun.
Open your inventory with TAB and check your equipment loadout before you go, so you’re not discovering a missing tool halfway through the debris field.

How to confirm the +5% flight speed applied
You’ll get a “NEW ACHIEVEMENT!” banner with the DÉJÀ VU title and the line “Don’t floor it!” attached to it. That pop-up is the confirmation — nothing else needs to be turned in.
To double-check the bonus is live, open the menu and go to the Achievements tab. The Déjà vu entry lists “Required: Play bus driver.” and “Bonus: Flight speed +5% for one hell of a driver.” If the card is filled in there, the stat is already applied to your character.
Why the Déjà vu achievement doesn’t trigger
There are only a couple of ways this one goes wrong, and both are easy to correct on the spot.
- You sat down but didn’t steer. Taking the seat is not the trigger. You have to input a direction so the wheel physically turns.
- You went into the wrong cabin. Only the left of the two red structures has the driver’s seat. The other one has nothing to interact with.
- You never reached the debris field. Drifting horizontally out of the station instead of descending puts you in a different part of the Outskirts entirely.
Déjà vu is one of 39 achievements in the current Early Access build, and every one of them attaches a permanent stat boost to your character rather than sitting inert on a profile page. Picking up the cheap ones near the starting station early makes the longer runs later on noticeably less tedious.
