Every run in Bug Evolution, Corgi Crew’s Roblox survival game, starts with a Level 1 Spider Egg. Your job is to grow it as fast as you can before something much bigger finds you. The early game follows a fixed set of rules: automatic evolution at Level 5, trait picks at Levels 10 and 20, zones locked by level, and a steep penalty when another player eats you. Learn those rules and you lose a lot fewer runs.

Quick answer: Collect orbs and break objects to reach Level 5, where your egg evolves into a Spiderling. Pick a trait at Levels 10 and 20, and move to Whispering Woods at Level 15.

Bug Evolution – Bug Guide

Bug Evolution early progression: Spider Egg to Level 26

You don’t need anything to start. There’s no gear to equip and no currency to spend before your first evolution. On PC you bite with the left mouse button, and the game labels that control BITE (LMB) on screen. The route below takes a fresh egg to the mid-20s in roughly six minutes, the length of an uninterrupted run.

Before you move, open the Bug Tree menu. It shows the branches that grow out of your starting spider and lists the conditions for each later bug, so you know which coin target you’re saving toward before you spend anything.

Leave the menu and collect the floating orbs on the ground in Sunny Meadow, the Level 1+ starting zone. Your egg has an Egg shield that keeps you safe from other players, so this is the one stage where you can ignore the bigger bugs walking past.

Keep collecting until you reach Level 5. The game shows “LEVEL UP! You can EVOLVE!” and starts a five-second countdown on its own. When it finishes, “YOU EVOLVED! You’re a Spiderling now!” confirms the change, and your Egg shield is gone from that point on.

Bite destructible objects as well as orbs. Mushrooms, acorns, webbed structures and yellow striped cocoons each give a lump of XP when they break, which is much more than a single orb. Breaking one striped cocoon is enough to push a Level 11 Spiderling to Level 12.

Hunt small bugs whenever you’re bigger than them. Eating them gives XP and also counts toward your quick quests. Small glowing insects often wander through the meadow, and they’re easy kills even for a Spiderling.

Accept a team invite if one pops up. Teammates show up as distance beacons with their name, level and distance in meters. That makes it easy to stay close to them and gives you more protection on a server that holds up to 15 players.

Cross into Whispering Woods once you reach Level 15. This is the next zone gated by level, and it is the place to keep climbing through the high teens.
Look for the Bonus XP Zone inside Whispering Woods. A banner reading “BONUS XP ZONE – WHISPERING WOODS” appears when you enter it, and the resources inside level you up faster than the rest of the woods.

Claim the Playtime Reward when its banner appears. It pays +100 coins when you press CLAIM!, and you can collect it mid-run without stopping.

From Level 20 on, the loop doesn’t change. Collect orbs, break acorns and eat small bugs. Levels 21 through 24 take longer than the early ones, and acorns stay a dependable source of lump XP all the way to Level 25.

Bug Evolution traits at Level 10 and Level 20

Two milestones stop you and ask you to choose a trait. Each choice offers one Movement option, one Defensive option and one Offensive option. You get only one of the three, so each pick decides which part of your bug gets better.

LevelTraitTypeEffect
10MarathonMovementStamina +25%
10Big AppetiteDefensiveXP Gain +10%
10Quick FangsOffensiveBite Speed +10%
20SkitterMovementSprint −25% stamina, Health −4%
20Leech FangsDefensiveHeal 6% of bite damage
20Lucky BiteOffensive12% chance to bite for 2x

At Level 10, Quick Fangs makes every bite land faster, which speeds up breaking objects as well as fighting. Big Appetite helps only with leveling, since it gives no combat boost. Marathon lets you sprint for longer, which matters most when you’re running away. At Level 20, Skitter is the only trait in either set with a downside: it costs you some health. Leech Fangs heals you a little each time you bite something, and Lucky Bite sometimes doubles a bite’s damage.

Zones, Night Hunt and quick quests

The map is split into biomes, and each one shows a minimum level as you enter it. On top of the biomes, the game adds XP boosts that only last for a while or only cover part of a zone.

Area or eventRequirementWhat it gives
Sunny MeadowLv 1+Starting zone
Whispering WoodsLv 15+Next leveling zone
Bonus XP ZoneInside Whispering WoodsFaster resource XP
Night HuntTimed, night cycle1.5x XP

Night Hunt runs while it’s dark on the map. When morning comes, the game shows “Good morning!” and the 1.5x XP bonus is gone, so night is the time to farm hardest.

The Quick tab in the objectives panel tracks short tasks that use the same actions you’re already doing, like eating bugs, eating crickets and breaking objects. A typical set looks like Eat 9 bugs, Eat 4 Crickets and Break 8 objects. Keep the tab open while you farm so you can see which target is nearby.

Server-wide announcements also show up while you play. One tells you when someone becomes the new KING BUG. Another appears when the Giant Void Mosquito is defeated, and the bugs that helped earn VOID CREDITS for the Void Spinner.

What getting eaten costs in Bug Evolution

Once your egg hatches, any larger player can eat you. Being Level 26 is no protection from a Level 177 Dragonfly. The death screen reads “YOU WERE EATEN,” names the player who got you, and sums up the run with your kills, time survived, levels lost and highest level reached.

Level 25 Jumping Spider exploring with the Quick tab showing bug-eating and object-breaking goals
A Level 25 Jumping Spider still out in the open, the point where a run is most exposed to high-level hunters.

The levels are where a death really hurts. If you die at Level 26 and respawn, you lose 25 levels and land back at Level 1 as a Spider Egg. The death screen gives you three options:

  • REVIVE FOR FREE, the only option that keeps your levels
  • RESPAWN (LV 1), which restarts you as an egg
  • CHANGE BUG, which lets you switch to another bug you own

Your coins stay with you. In a six-minute run from Level 1 to 26, the balance went from 1,058 to 1,400, and the 100-coin playtime reward was part of that gain. That’s why surviving longer is the real way to earn coins in Bug Evolution.

Unlocking your next bug: coins or Robux

The coins you keep after each death go toward new bugs. Each entry on the Bug Tree lists its own unlock conditions. Monarch, for example, needs 450 coins, a Grasshopper that you own, and that Grasshopper grown to Lv 15. Some bugs unlock based on another bug’s progress, not just your coin total.

When a bug becomes available, a “NEW BUG READY!” popup appears. The Mosquito version offers an UNLOCK NOW button for 19 Robux, or you can save up 1,800 coins and unlock it later.

Robux prompts can pop up during normal play. If you didn’t mean to buy something, cancel the prompt before you confirm, then go back to farming coins.
