Build a Boat for Treasure: How to Get the R20 Event Badge

The anniversary quest ends at a bakery stage, not the treasure chest — here is the exact route, build, and reward.

The anniversary quest ends at a bakery stage, not the treasure chest — here is the exact route, build, and reward.

The Roblox 20 quest in Build a Boat for Treasure ignores the usual goal of hauling a giant ship to the treasure chest. Instead, the event asks you to build something that can actually steer, sail down the river to a bakery stage, and bake an anniversary cake. It is one of the shortest objectives in the anniversary run, and a two-part boat is enough to finish it.

Quick answer: Accept the Roblox 20 letter, launch a boat with a seat and a motor, sail into the bakery stage, collect the three ingredients, then touch the finished cake to trigger the badge.

Starting the Roblox 20 event quest

The quest lives behind an envelope icon labelled ROBLOX 20 in the spawn area, which opens with the prompt about the forgotten cake. Clicking Accept adds the Event Quest checklist to your screen so you can track progress during the run.

  • Build a boat and launch it.
  • Find the bakery stage down the river.
  • Bake the anniversary cake.

You can start from the anniversary hub and travel to the Build a Boat year, or jump straight into the Build A Boat For Treasure experience once the objective is active. Either way, the envelope has to be accepted before the run counts.

Boat build that survives the river

The one thing that matters is control. A pile of blocks with no propulsion drifts into rocks and flips, and a flipped boat usually means dying at the pagoda stage before the bakery ever appears. Keep the build compact and put a few blocks around the seat so hazards do not knock you off.

  • A seat or pilot seat, so you can steer instead of drifting.
  • A propeller, engine thruster, or jet turbine for propulsion.
  • A small block hull — wood, marble, or neon all work.
  • A couple of spare blocks shielding the seat from rock impacts.

A saved build you already trust is fine here. The event does not score the boat, so a decorative mega-build only makes steering harder.

Sailing to the bakery stage

From your plot, choose Launch and select Yes when asked, “Do you really want to launch your boat?” The boat falls into the river, and the run starts at once.

Steer down the river and keep clear of the rocks, waterfalls, floating clock gears, and other stage hazards. Damage here is what usually ends a run early, so slow, straight lines beat full throttle.
Watch for the bakery rather than the usual end-of-run chest. Follow the distance indicator and the cake marker, and drive into the bakery entrance when it appears — a tiled kitchen area with shelves, rolling pins, and oversized baking props.

Do not leave the server once the sailing feels finished. Reaching the bakery alone does not complete the quest.

Collecting the ingredients and baking the cake

Entering the bakery opens an Ingredients checklist on the left of the screen. The items sit on the kitchen floor as oversized props, and you collect each one by driving your boat into it. There is no separate pickup button.

Once all three are checked off, the baking sequence runs on its own. The mixer blends the batter, it pours into a pan, and the oven produces a decorated cake with 20 candles on top.

Claiming the badge and the reward

When the cake appears, jump or drive onto it. That touch is the trigger: a “Badge Awarded” popup shows in the bottom-right corner, the 20th anniversary cake block lands in your items, and the Roblox 20 envelope updates to show the quest as complete with Stay and Hub buttons.

When the run ends, you return to the starting area and receive the usual end-of-run gold plus the event item. The badge also grants Build A Boat for a Top Hat, a Roblox-made hat that is off sale in the catalogue and can be obtained only by finishing the quest.

Finishing in-game and claiming are two separate actions. Head back to the The Hunt: Roblox 20 hub, check the year state, and claim the reward there before moving on. If the quest looks stuck, confirm you actually completed the cake step rather than only reaching the bakery, and check the hub before repeating the entire river run.

Compared with the longer story quests in the anniversary run, this one rarely takes more than a few minutes once your boat steers properly. Build small, keep the seat protected, and treat the bakery as the finish line rather than the treasure chest.
