The Succubus waits in the corrupted castle after Dracula’s first defeat, hiding behind an illusion of Rose’s mother, Sypha. After the first ending, face this Succubus boss in Belmont Manor, a district within the Hall of Mirrors. Descend through The Descent Into Memory, another district in the Hall of Mirrors, to reach the manor. Her fight runs on a single boss bar and lasts roughly two minutes once it starts.
Quick answer: Refuse the fake Sypha to trigger the fight, slide under her floor-level dashes and thrusts, destroy her illusion copies to shatter the pink barrier, then unload while she lies stunned on the carpet.
How to reach the Succubus
Descend through the corrupted castle, pass through the vertical shaft marked In-Between, then go down the red staircase.
The chamber itself is the arena. You fight on flat red carpet, with side platforms around the edges and the fireplace in the centre.

She opens by teleporting around the room and striking with a spear. Staying low handles most of what she throws at you.

| Attack | Tell | Counter |
|---|---|---|
| Horizontal dash / thrust | Materializes beside a platform edge, drawing back a red-black streak | Slide beneath the line, then strike her as she lands |
| Angled thrusts | Teleports at a low or high position, with a dark-red trail pointing diagonally | Slide or roll close to the ground beneath the diagonal path |
| Darts from above | Hangs high over the fireplace, wings flared, fires pink projectiles | Slide across the floor, then jump up and slash her |
| Illusion copies | Splits into three (later four) hovering copies firing horizontal darts | Duck the low darts, jump and slash each copy |
| Ground shockwave dive | Perches on a side platform, lightning on her spear, dives into the floor | Double jump or slide over the pink wave |
Breaking the pink barrier
At one point, she calls out and rises to the room’s top centre inside a pink sphere, as black-red tendrils reach down to the floor. Any attack that hits her while the sphere remains is marked BLOCKED, so there’s no point trying to damage her directly during this phase.

Find the gap between two tendrils and stand there so you have room to move. Duck the darts from the side copies, then focus your attacks on destroying those copies. When they are all gone the barrier shatters. One approach clears it in about 20 seconds.
As soon as the barrier gives way, she falls onto the carpet. Take advantage of this stun window and hit her with everything before she recovers.
The four-copy finish
For the final push she flies up and splits into four copies arranged in a diamond. Jump into the middle of that diamond and use aerial attacks to catch the copies around you.

Once the final hit lands, a brief cutscene shows her grabbing Rose, followed by a white fade. This confirms the fight has ended.
Your approach remains straightforward throughout: stay low against her ground attacks, dispatch her copies quickly, exploit the openings in her web, and deal damage during the windows when she is down on the carpet.
The Succubus: health, phases and damage

| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | 8,000 |
| Phase changes | Barrier again at 80%, 50% and 30%; dash added below 60% |
| Experience | 1,200 |
| Rewards | |
| Immune to | Freeze, petrify, Chains of Justice; bleed and burn work |
| Damage figures assume DEF | About 80 |
The damage numbers below assume Rose has roughly the DEF shown in the table. With less DEF, attacks hurt more: at 20 DEF below that benchmark, they deal about 1.7 times as much damage. Extra DEF is less helpful; 20 above the benchmark reduces damage by only about 10%. Rose gains 1 DEF per level and per DEF UP book read. More on this in how damage works.
At 80%, 50% and 30% health, she restores her barrier; once below 60%, she also uses her dash.
- Claw swipe: 35. Dash: 50.
- Claw explosions deal 25 damage and cannot be passed through by sliding.
- Parrying or dodging won’t stop her draining projectiles.
You cannot slide through the claw explosions; her draining projectiles also cannot be parried or dodged.
She resists freeze and petrify, as well as Chains of Justice’s root and stun and Chronomantic Dive’s slow. Bleed and burn still work.
Reward for beating the Succubus
Clearing the fight earns the Arcana card The Temptress, which carries the spell Life Drain. The card screen offers a “See Spell” option if you want to view it. You also unlock the trophy “Succubued to her wounds…”.
