Control Resonant: Crossing the Threshold Full Quest Walkthrough

Track every clue, survive the warehouse, and pick the exact dialogue that unlocks both quest rewards.

Track every clue, survive the warehouse, and pick the exact dialogue that unlocks both quest rewards.

Among the first optional missions available in Control Resonant, Crossing the Threshold becomes accessible after you arrive in Central carrying your Level 1 clearance keycard. The apparent mystery of the headless corpses hinges on a single discussion with Wilson. Choose the wrong responses and the mission still ends, but you receive no items.

Quick answer: Examine all the evidence, then at the warehouse side with Wilson and volunteer to host AVP-3. Take the entity to the Dig Site Threshold to receive both rewards. Choosing containment or accusing him ends the quest without any items.

How to start Crossing the Threshold

The mission triggers when you report a decapitated FBC agent to Zoe over the radio, not by talking to an NPC. The main story hands you the Level 1 clearance keycard at the Field Office, which is all the access you need to open the doors around the base perimeter and begin.

Either of two corpses can start the quest: one lies in the Field Hospital container, while the other is in the loading dock garage about a block west of the Field Office. For the garage body, look behind an open shutter in a side alley. Approach either one and interact to call Zoe; the mission then appears in your Quest Log.

The warehouse guards later in the quest hit hard. Coming back at a higher level makes that fight far more forgiving than pushing through the moment the quest appears.

Investigation route: docks, Dig Site, Field Hospital, and Security Station

Activating the quest places several markers around the base. You may visit the Dig Site and loading docks in either sequence; the route below limits backtracking and lets you gather all the necessary evidence before speaking with Wilson.

Head to the Dig Site Threshold, an enclosed pit with yellow boundary lines and a glowing central square. Report the headless body on the floor to Zoe, then collect Wilson’s Para-Anthropologist ID badge, the Mobile Research Station Keycard, and the Parabiologist’s Notes near the corpse.
Climb the elevated platform and swipe your card on the yellow research container marked TE. Grab the Dig Site Threshold Note inside, then play the Threshold Site Recording on the desk, which documents a dispute between Wilson, the parabiologist, and Ranger Cox.
Play the Medic’s Assessment Recording in the Field Hospital before reporting the body fastened behind the glass wall. The recording describes the Threshold condition responsible for destroying the expedition team’s heads.
Beside the glass, try the green archive cabinet that’s locked. Dylan contacts Zoe by radio about the combination he doesn’t have, and the objective sends you to the Security Station to find the code.
Make your way over the plaza to the Security Station, an orange structure made from a shipping container beside the fast-travel point. Upstairs, access the desktop terminal and move through its screens two times to locate the cabinet record. Enter code 0665.
At the loading docks, get through the marked door by striking its side panel to lift the shutter or sliding beneath it. Report both the second headless corpse and the flashing CCTV camera on the rear wall. The camera report makes the footage objective available.
Return to the Security Station’s upper level and use the computer in the corner, the second one there. Select “Next Screen” and then “Interact” to view Ranger Cox and the parabiologist at the docks while Lewis changes form and attacks.
Return to the Field Hospital and key in 0665 to open the cabinet, then inspect the Dig Site Threshold Quarantine List inside. It names the people exposed at Threshold Site 7-B: S. Lewis, R. Graham, A. Rutter, T. Cox, and C. Wilson. With both the footage and list collected, your next objective is to find Wilson.

Reaching Wilson at the warehouse

The field-base walls prevent a direct walk to the warehouse marker. Use the map to reach the keycard-locked door, then leave the base through the correct gate. Hiss enemies ambush you as soon as you emerge.

North of the Field Office, the warehouse marker appears at roof height, though there is no way to use the roof. Approach from the northwest, eliminate the Hiss in the alley and building, and take the entrance’s right-hand door to find Wilson’s room.

Inside, expect flying Hiss on the upper level as well as Linus, a Hiss Pursuer – Apex mini-boss. Deal with the airborne foes first: filling their Falter meter makes them easy to stagger into an execution. Linus attacks at close range and can ignite you. Evade its spinning move, then strike during the lengthy recovery; rapid attacks can keep it stun-locked.

Wilson dialogue choices and outcomes

After defeating the Hiss, go through the door and talk with Wilson. He tells you AVP-3 is a young Threshold entity that requires a living host to stay alive. When a host dies, it moves to another person; this cycle is behind the FBC team’s headless bodies. For the ending that grants rewards, select the following responses in sequence:

  • “What did you do to him?”
  • “I saw something on the CCTV…”
  • “Calm down, I believe you.”
  • “I’ll take him.”

The dialogue wheel shows more options than these, but every path collapses into just two endings. The table below covers each result.

If you opt to contain AVP-3, you get the empty ending, even if you previously said you believed Wilson. The entity then inhabits Wilson and he goes to the Dig Site; his corpse is later found in the pit’s center, and you receive nothing.

Deliver AVP-3 and confirm the quest is complete

Once you choose to host the entity, interact with Ranger Cox’s body on the ground; AVP-3 will enter Dylan. Your next objective is to take it back to the Dig Site Threshold. A new group of Hiss appears in the street as you leave the warehouse, and you may either engage them or run by.

For a fast return, follow the marker’s direction across the road from the warehouse rooftop. Climb the Dig Site scaffolding platforms, then drop into the illuminated yellow square. No activation or alignment is needed: landing in the rift releases AVP-3 on its own.

The completion banner confirms success and awards the Sensory Restraint Hood outfit plus the Untapped Practice Knot artifact recipe, which gives attacks against Heavy-tier enemies extra Falter. Zoe radios that Wilson surrendered over his team’s deaths, then a brief exchange about how much you disclose wraps up the quest. Verify in the Quest Log that Crossing the Threshold is no longer active.
