Control Resonant: How to Solve the Lookout Point Beach Day Puzzle

In Control Resonant, Dylan encounters the Lookout Point secret in Downtown Manhattan as a scene-building puzzle. Before a billboard that says “A New You Awaits,” a blue tarp holds a table, a basket, and one beach chair. The setup still needs to be completed; doing so starts a sketch that grants Source and adds an entry to Dylan’s Sketchbook.

Quick answer: Grab the beach umbrella and the folding chair from the nearby dumpster alley, drop both onto the tarp, then press the Draw prompt while standing on it to complete the scene.

Where to find Lookout Point in Downtown

Downtown contains the site; relative to nearby landmarks, Lookout Point is northwest of the Deserted Area and to the southeast of the Oldest House. The map marks it with a red star labeled “Lookout Point” and the tooltip “SECRET: Visit this location to reveal a secret.”

You reach the area after leaving the facility into Downtown, following the “Welcome to Manhattan” objective. The route takes you through a Manhattan checkpoint plaza and across the rooftops before dropping into the yard where the tarp is set up.

The puzzle site is close to the Deserted Area marker, so the secret icon shows near it on the Downtown map when you open the screen.

Items you need to complete the scene

The tarp starts with a table, a basket, and one beach chair. Two more objects are missing, and both are hidden in the trash alley behind the brick wall around the corner, near a green dumpster.

Interacting with the tarp before both items are placed only makes Dylan comment, “Still needs something…” You cannot trigger the sketch until the umbrella and second chair are both down.

How to solve the Beach Day puzzle

Walk around the corner behind the brick wall into the alleyway with the dumpsters. Find the striped beach umbrella on the ground and press F to pick it up.

Bring the umbrella back to the blue tarp and set it down in its marked place. You can’t use the draw prompt while holding an object, so put the umbrella down before interacting.

Return to the alley and go behind the green dumpster to find the folding lawn chair. Pick it up and carry it to the tarp.

Drop the chair on the empty side next to the table, across from the chair already there. With both items in place, Dylan says, “I think it’s ready.”

Stand on the tarp and press the Draw prompt (shown as “Alt Beach day” / “F Draw”). This starts the cutscene of Dylan sketching the finished beach scene against the billboard.

Rewards and how to confirm it worked

After the sketch cutscene, the game awards +100 Source and unlocks the “Beach Day” collectible under Dylan’s Sketchbook. You will see a “+1 Undefined Reading: Beach Day” notification on screen.

To check that it has unlocked, open the menu, choose Collectibles, then select Dylan’s Sketchbook. The “Beach Day” entry displays the completed setup, with the chairs beneath the umbrella; a note on the reverse wonders what swimming in the sea might feel like. That confirms the secret is complete.
