Langston’s favor at the Field Panopticon looks like a quick errand, then turns into three separate puzzles. The security terminal is dead, the cell labels bolted to the wall are wrong, and the Altered Radio you are meant to contain refuses to sit still until it plays the right broadcast. Every one of those problems has a fixed answer.
Quick answer: Enter category D and number 04 for Langston. Keep switching stations until the announcer brings up the New York World’s Fair, then put the radio in E-05.
Where to find Langston and start the quest
After the prologue, reaching the FBC Field Office in Central unlocks the quest. Langston is stationed in the Field Panopticon Office at the base’s southeastern corner; his map marker appears after you enter. You will pass locked entrances such as R&C Storage, which displays an “Insufficient Clearance Level” warning. Those doors are irrelevant to this quest.

Speak with Langston and listen while he grumbles about the employees who abandoned the mess, then take the assignment. Every dialogue choice is valid, including “Ready when you are.” He sends Dylan to retrieve and contain a nearby Altered Radio, beginning the task and unlocking the containment room behind him.

Go east to the Panopticon and use the security terminal in the little recess along the room’s left side. Its display is a blinking red battery alert rather than a menu, indicating that three components are absent. They are all nearby: a pair of battery modules and a satellite dish antenna.

| Component | Where it is | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Battery module 1 | Floor near the terminal | Socket on the server rack |
| Battery module 2 | Beside cell A-01 | Second socket on the same rack |
| Satellite dish | Near cell C-03 | Mast above cell E-05 |

Decode the cell labels and give Langston D-04
Verify that the cell is labeled B-02, prompting Langston to attempt a remote opening from his desk. The attempt fails: the plates on the cells identify them differently from the names stored by the system, so the doors remain closed.

A document titled Note for Langston, resting on a crate beside A-01, explains the mix-up. The earlier team arranged the cells anti-clockwise, unlike the FBC’s clockwise standard, and changed the plates without changing the system. Determine the actual ID by reading the row from the other end, with the letters and numbers beginning on the left instead of the right.
| Plate on the wall | Real ID in the system |
|---|---|
| A-01 | E-05 |
| B-02 | D-04 |
| C-03 | C-03 |
| D-04 | B-02 |
| E-05 | A-01 |
Go beside the radio’s cell and use the intercom to summon Langston. He requests the category before the number, so select “The category is ‘D’” followed by “The number is ’04’.” Once he enters D-04, the door immediately opens. Take the Altered Radio from the cell.
Tune the radio to the World’s Fair broadcast
The radio cannot remain in its assigned cell while the incorrect programme is active. Its effects also distort Dylan’s view of reality, meaning the room may glitch and the containment can reset during the process.
Changing the station is simple. Drop the radio on the ground and step away, and the broadcast advances. Setting it on the pedestal inside E-05 also forces it to switch. Repeat until you hear the exact line: “It’s Sunday, October 17th, and tonight, the New York World’s Fair comes to an end.” When that segment plays, grab the radio quickly, carry it to cell E-05, and set it on the pedestal.
Enable subtitles before cycling through the stations. The announcer’s clips are lengthy, and the room’s distortions can make the fair reference easy to miss.
Rewards and how to confirm it worked
Completion is confirmed when E-05 keeps the radio without a reset and the Quest Complete prompt appears. Rewards are issued immediately and appear in the Quest Log before your conversation with Langston ends.
- Untapped Feeding Bottle — an Artifact recipe that provides +30% Power recovery while Dylan has Infected or Burn.
- Aramid Work Clothes is a cosmetic outfit that can be equipped in any dressing room.
- A batch of Source points for completing the containment.
The Artifact recipe cannot be equipped immediately. Bring it to the Gap to awaken it; it suits status-effect builds that need faster Power recovery while burning or infected. Return to Langston afterward and finish the conversation, which unlocks the Panopticon door for your exit.
