The Complete Set is a Control Resonant Side Story in which Dylan searches Manhattan for a vintage SINKKI D50 speaker system. He needs to secure four rogue speakers and the missing subwoofer, deliver the full set of five to the Downtown Auction House, and place each piece on the surface named in the setup note before performing a ritual. Finding the components progresses the Altered-item collection goal, and finishing the quest grants the Bout Guard artifact recipe.
Quick answer: Contain speakers at the construction site, Auction House, coffee shop, and Museum of Curiosities. Obtain the SR keycard from Langston to retrieve the subwoofer in the Oldest House, then position all five items on their assigned Auction House surfaces and respond to the subwoofer’s last question.
How to start The Complete Set
There are several ways to start this quest, but each adds the same entry to Side Stories. The first opportunity is in an apartment at Central’s western edge. Go upstairs to the second floor, enter the first door on your left, and pick up the Pete, Nina and Lester recording by interacting with the corner phone; this launches the mission. You can also start it by nearing the speaker in Central’s small Atlantis coffee shop or the display at the Museum of Curiosities.

You need the Shift ability to reach the Auction House in Downtown; it becomes available in the West Incursion Zone. This section of Downtown remains inaccessible until you have Shift, so unlock it before heading there if necessary.

All four speakers behave alike: approach and attempt to grab one, and it will zip around the room, dealing sonic damage. Give it a moment to pause, then close in quickly and select the Contain prompt to pick it up. You may recover them in any order, so choose a route that suits your exploration.

How to find the missing subwoofer
The subwoofer is the most difficult item to find: much of the Bureau has lost track of it, and some employees question whether it is real. Ask Frederick Langston, head of the Field Panopticon, about it near the FBC Field Office at the southeastern edge of Central’s exterior. He says items with no paranormal activity were moved to a storage room near Executive Research, then gives you the keycard for the Oldest House Storage room, marked SR.

The Auction House ritual: where to place each piece
Back at the Downtown Auction House, start by placing all four speakers and the subwoofer on the leather couch beside the Auction House Civilian. This is the starting position the setup note describes. Then pick up each piece individually and carry it to its matching surface.

| Piece | Surface | Location in the hall |
|---|---|---|
| Speaker 1 | Glass | Glass table downstairs, near the bottom of the stairs |
| Speaker 2 | Stone / rock | Stone slabs on the stage at the back of the main room |
| Speaker 3 | Raw wood | Wooden bench in the opposite upstairs area |
| Speaker 4 | Blue | Blue tarp draped over the edge of that same platform |
| Subwoofer | Water | The puddle at ground level, by the caution sign near the console |
You may place the subwoofer in the water ahead of the speakers. After all five pieces occupy their designated surfaces, placement is complete and you can start the sequence.
Switch off all four speakers in time
At the console, return to the Auction House Civilian and interact. The civilian strikes a pose like the Hiss as the speakers begin blaring. Before the timer expires, sprint to all four speakers and shut them down. For a straightforward path, visit the glass speaker first, the one by the blue tarp next, then the wooden bench, and end at the stone-slab speaker on the stage.
Taking too long causes all four speakers to switch back on, forcing you to redo the entire shutdown route. Keep the subwoofer active until you make the final choice.
The final subwoofer choice and reward
Once the speakers are disabled, go back to the subwoofer and use it. You will hear two voices—the woman’s and the entity inside the Altered item. The choice wheel lets you decide between two outcomes for the civilian; either way, the reward stays the same.
- Turn off the subwoofer — This ends the Altered item’s influence and immediately completes the mission, at the cost of the civilian’s life.
- Turn the volume up — The woman lives, with the entity taking control of her body. You then receive a Talk to the Civilian objective; finish the quest by speaking with her.
Whichever branch you choose, the completion screen and reward are identical: a recipe for the Bout Guard artifact. It boosts Power recovery by 50% but makes Dylan take 20% more damage. The recipe appearing in your inventory and The Complete Set disappearing from your active Side Stories list show that the quest is complete.
If the final subwoofer prompt does not appear
A bug can prevent the final choice from appearing, leaving the woman to repeat her dialogue whenever you speak to her. Remedy acknowledges that the subwoofer interaction prompt may be missing and intends to address the issue in a future update. No official fix is available at this time, though the following steps have helped some players.
- Reload an autosave, then speak with the woman to begin the conversation again.
- Fast Travel out of the Auction House, then retrace your route back inside.
- Restart the game.
If these attempts fail, leave the quest for now and return after a fix has been released. On completion, you’ll find the Bout Guard recipe in your inventory, and The Complete Set will no longer appear in your active Side Story list, confirming the mission is done.
