Urban Survival is one of the longer side quests in Control Resonant, tucked into the fog-covered streets of the Evacuation Zone in warped Manhattan. It begins as an investigation into someone rigging traps around the neighborhood and turns into a chain of personal errands for a survivalist who refuses to leave his bunker. Dylan Faden has to find the trap-setter, recover two things the survivalist cares about, then track down his missing brother.

Quick answer: Read the Investigation Order outside the parking garage to start the quest, recover Olivia and Granny for the survivalist, locate his brother with the car fob, and return the photo to complete Urban Survival.

Where Urban Survival starts in the Evacuation Zone

Search the Evacuation Zone for an underground parking garage. A document named the Investigation Order lies on the ground just outside its entrance. Examine it to add Urban Survival to your quest log; your objective will be to identify whoever is laying traps in the area.

Before you head in, it helps to have the zone’s fast travel points active. Activating the Main Street and Survivalist’s Bunker fast travel doors makes the back-and-forth errands later in the quest much quicker.

Clear the parking garage and reach the bunker

Enter the parking garage. It is filled with tripwire mines and Hiss enemies. You can dash past the explosives, but they also damage the Hiss, so it is often easier to lure enemies onto the mines and let them do the work.

Leave the garage through the exit opposite the one you came in. Turn left and keep clearing enemies until you spot a building entrance, which is surrounded by another cluster of mines. Head inside to a fortified warehouse depot.
Use the intercom on the reinforced door to speak with the survivalist. He argues about leaving his bunker, and the conversation is interrupted when Hiss enemies spawn inside the warehouse. Clear them out and return to the intercom.
Talk to him again. He refuses to leave until Dylan brings back two things he cares about, Olivia and Granny, and hands over the door code 8521. Both objectives are marked on your map and can be done in either order.

Combat notes: mines, the Hiss Hive, and Lenny

The Evacuation Zone streets throw several repeatable encounters at you between objectives. Checking the map for active events lets you clear World Feats for extra crafting materials and Source while you move between markers.

LennyStreet ambushNamed elite brute with high health, backed by snipers

The street ambush with Lenny is the toughest fight in the quest. He appears alongside laser-aimed snipers and heavy melee Hiss, so it is easy to die in the crossfire. Upgrading your weapon before this stretch makes a real difference.

Spend Source in the Primary Forms tree to unlock stronger attacks and movement options like Cleave and Dodge Glaive. These upgrades help you break through Lenny’s health bar faster while staying mobile against the snipers.

Check your Inventory to confirm you have the materials you need, such as Distorted Form, Corrupted Element, and Aberrant Slivers, before committing them to an upgrade. Street vendors around the zone also sell echoes, shards, and artifacts for Source if you are short on a specific resource.

Recover Olivia from Pulse Fitness

Head to the Pulse Fitness gym on Main Street, which is the closer of the two objectives. Enemies block the entrance, so clear the street fight outside before the door will open.

Inside the gym, take the first door on your left into an office. On the desk you will find Olivia, who turns out to be a potted plant rather than a person. Pick her up.

The same street holds optional detours worth grabbing on the way, including a laundromat with a Violent Echo and the nearby Konstig art shop, which has a painting puzzle that opens a hidden hideout.

Recover Granny from the survivalist’s home

Follow the second marker to the survivalist’s apartment building. Go in through the main entrance and ride the elevator up to his floor.
Search the apartment by going into the room on the left. Granny is no human grandmother; you’ll find her in the bedroom, tucked behind shelving. Pick her up, then make your way back toward the bunker.

The apartment also holds an audio recording titled Missing Dog and a huge cache of canned goods, so look around before you leave if you want the extra flavor and pickups.

Return Olivia and Granny to the bunker

Head back to the survivalist’s warehouse and talk to him over the intercom. Set Olivia and Granny on the table next to the door. Returning each one updates the quest objectives, but Dylan still has more to do for the survivalist: he now wants you to locate his brother, and first sends you to retrieve his car keys.

Find the survivalist’s brother

Grab the car keyfob from the side storage room near the bunker, then travel to the search area marked to the north of the zone.
Instead of checking every parked car, activate the fob once and watch the minimap. A marker briefly appears over the vehicle that responds. Go to that car, unlock it, and take the apartment key inside.
Make your way to the marked apartment building and ride the elevator to the upper floor. Unlock the brother’s home with the key. He’s inside, trapped in Hiss corruption. Nearby, collect the framed photo—the last item on your list.

Complete Urban Survival and claim the rewards

Return to the bunker one last time, speak to the survivalist through the intercom to deliver the news, and place the framed photo on the table beside Olivia and Granny. That final placement completes Urban Survival and pays out the Plate Carrier M1 outfit and the Untapped Heart Monitor artifact recipe.

You will know the quest is finished when the completion prompt appears and the rewards land in your inventory. Before leaving, check the side room near the bunker, which holds extra Source and an Aberrant Shard.
