Pearl Abyss has pushed Crimson Desert to version 1.16.0, listed as 1.000.423 on consoles, and the headline change is a full rework of wagon trading. Hauling goods across Pywel used to be mostly a roleplay activity with thin payouts. This update turns it into a real money-making loop with dynamic prices, far more places to buy and sell, and a new investment layer bolted onto the bank.
Quick answer: The patch adds 133 trading posts, 24 high-value trade goods, dynamic supply-and-demand pricing, and a Bonds system for banking. It is live now on Steam (PC and Mac), PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store, with the Mac App Store build following later.

Platform availability for patch 1.16.0
The rollout is staggered by store. Most platforms already have the build, and only the Mac App Store version is still in progress.
| Platform | Status |
|---|---|
| Steam (PC) | Available now |
| Steam (Mac) | Available now |
| PlayStation | Available now |
| Xbox | Available now |
| Epic Games Store | Available now |
| Mac App Store | In progress, arriving later |
You can confirm you are on the new version by opening the game after it updates and checking the build number, or by looking for the new Trade tab on the map, which only exists in 1.16.0.
Trading posts and how prices now work
The biggest structural change is the sheer number of places to trade. There are 133 new trading posts, including a merchant at the Pailune Trading Post, and some of them only appear after you advance related quests. The types and quantities of goods sold at each post have also been rebalanced.
Prices are no longer static. Selling too many of one good in a single location now drops its price in that market, so flooding one spot no longer works as an easy exploit. Harder-to-reach posts pay more, and royal trading posts have had their prices quadrupled. Wagons also no longer vanish after you deliver to a royal trading post.
| Change | Effect |
|---|---|
| 133 new trading posts | More buy and sell locations across the map |
| Dynamic pricing | Prices fall when supply is high in one region |
| Distance bonus | Higher profit at posts that are hard to reach by wagon |
| Royal post prices | Quadrupled for trade goods |
| Wagon persistence | Wagons remain after delivering to a royal post |
New trade goods and inventory changes
To keep late-game trading worthwhile, the update adds 24 new high-value trade goods along with 4 new regular ones. Handling them is also less fiddly. You can now sell even a single trade good, move goods between your wagon and your horse, and stack items more generously than before.
| Item state | New stack limit |
|---|---|
| Packaged trade goods | Up to 10 or 100, based on price |
| Unpackaged goods in inventory | Up to 5 or 50 per slot |
There is a trade-off to be aware of. The amount of trade goods you lose when retrieving your horse or wagon, or when destroying a wagon, has increased, so plan routes before you abandon a loaded cart.
Wagon workshops and map tools
Seven wagon workshops now sit across Pywel and act as intermediate trading stops, located at Hernand, Demeniss, Delesyia, Pailune, Tommaso, Urdavah, and Varnia. You can package and load trade goods at each one.
Route planning is far easier thanks to a new Trade tab on the map. It shows trading posts, royal trading posts, wagon workshops, and wagon routes, and it lets you filter for posts that sell the goods you want. Wagon routes now also appear on the minimap while you are driving, and market prices, including the average buy price, are visible when you inspect a post.
A few extra conveniences round this out. You can register items to the map filter by focusing on a packaged good in your horse or wagon inventory, a trade shop, or storage. Checking a trade good on the map also shows how many you are carrying on horses and wagons, and a special marker flags merchants tied to trade-related events.

Banking and the new Bonds system
The bank now supports higher-risk investing through Bonds. The maximum number of gold bars you can gain or lose through bank interest is now capped at 40. A new Claim Bank Strongbox lets you start investing once you deposit 10 or more Bonds, and each Bond can be exchanged for 10 Gold Bars.
There is also a Bond Shop where you can spend Bonds on rare items, giving high earners a dedicated place to sink their currency.
Quest and content fixes
A large batch of blockers has been cleared. Several challenges that could not be completed or tracked now work correctly, including “Back Alley Cleanup,” “Shield of Unchanging Will V,” “Harmonious Hooves VIII,” and “Overwhelming Slash II.” The Chief Monk of Jijeong Temple, who could fail to appear, now shows up reliably.
- Contribution points can no longer exceed 100.
- “Assassinate Count Byron” no longer stalls when Byron could not be killed.
- “Where Misery Gathers” in Chapter 2 now requires finishing “Shadow Cast Over the River” first.
- Elephants that occasionally could not be sold at the Livestock Fence now sell correctly.
- Squirrel-type animals can now be skinned, and the Martial Monk outfit set can now be dyed.
- The “Vellua Pirates Banner Pike” is renamed “The Dancing Catfish Pirates’ Banner Pike.”
- Mushrooms are now classified as alchemy materials rather than cooking materials.
- A total of 421 missing quest-related knowledge entries now appear in the Knowledge list.
Explosive items now stack in units of 10 and can be assigned to quick slots, and interaction animations were added or improved for the platypus, feathered weasel, armadillo, porcupine, and hedgehog.
Combat and control fixes
Several unresponsive-control situations were resolved, including food not being consumable while mounted on Hard difficulty, controls locking up when using “Tackle” on a Comrade while on a horse, and the mount interaction being unavailable while a mace was equipped. Characters no longer stop running unexpectedly, and quickslot special equipment now works right after loading in.
Combat received a long list of corrections. A shotgun Charged Shot no longer burns through an abnormal amount of bullets, Focused Evasive Shot no longer wrongly drains Spirit or Stamina, and “Large Swing” now works while riding a bear. “Charged Shot” can also be performed while running with a ranged weapon equipped. Character-specific fixes cover Damiane, Oongka, and their shared skills.
- [Damiane] Shield-related skills no longer make the right-hand weapon disappear while dual wielding.
- [Damiane] Glide re-entry after canceling is now as responsive as Kliff and Oongka.
- [Oongka] Vertical Flight on entering water no longer triggers an awkward animation.
- The Wyvern can no longer attack and evade at the same time.
- Bleed Bandits’ Alchemy Explosive Pack no longer damages allies.
Graphics, performance, and stability
On PC, the update implements AMD FSR SDK 2.3.0 and adds FSR Upscaling 4.1 support for AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series (RDNA 3) GPUs. Ray Regeneration is updated to 1.2.0, flickering around window frame edges is reduced, and some distant objects that failed to render in certain areas are now visible.
Multiple crash sources were addressed, including crashes when enhancing Health, Stamina, or Spirit, in the Map menu, during the fight against the Forgotten General, and when switching characters while Damiane or Oongka is following you. Localization was corrected and improved across all languages.
With this build, wagon trading finally has the tools and payouts to stand on its own, and the bank’s Bonds give late-game players somewhere to put the profits. If you have avoided the trade loop until now, the new Trade tab is the fastest way to see whether the reworked economy is worth your time.
