The Dark Sky Blue Dye is a Sky Blue hue dye bottle in Crimson Desert, hidden inside the Experiment Facility in the Delesyia region. Picking it up adds the two darkest rows of the Sky Blue swatch to your color palette, but those rows can only be applied to gear once you have also met the Sky Blue dyer.
Quick answer: Travel to the Experiment Facility in northern Delesyia, grab the Dark Sky Blue Dye bottle, consume it from your inventory, then visit Castiel at the Delesyia Dyehouse (west of Delesyia city) or Oliver the Dyer at Howling Hill to preview and apply Sky Blue shades.

Dark Sky Blue Dye location in Delesyia
The Experiment Facility sits in the Delesyia region, north of the city of Delesyia and within the broader Sky Blue dye cluster that also contains the Hushwind, Woodrock, and Mount Benus pickups. The facility is a small fenced complex of stone buildings with research equipment scattered inside.
The dye bottle is placed on a workbench inside the main interior room. There are no boss encounters tied to it; hostile guards and patrolling enemies may be in the area depending on your progress, so clear them or sneak past before grabbing the bottle. Interact with the bottle to add it to your inventory.

What the dye unlocks
Every Sky Blue dye bottle in Crimson Desert unlocks two adjacent rows on the Sky Blue swatch. The Dark variant covers the darker end of the hue, sitting between the regular Sky Blue rows and the Deep Sky Blue rows sold by the Delesyia Dyehouse.
| Sky Blue dye bottle | Swatch rows unlocked | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| Bright Sky Blue | Rows 1–2 | Mount Benus, Delesyia |
| Rich Sky Blue | Rows 3–4 | Woodrock Cabin, Delesyia |
| Sky Blue | Rows 5–6 | Abandoned Hushwind Cabin, Delesyia |
| Dark Sky Blue | Rows 7–8 | Experiment Facility, Delesyia |
| Deep Sky Blue | Rows 9–10 | Delesyia Dyehouse (sold by Castiel) |
Consuming the Dark Sky Blue Dye from your inventory immediately unlocks rows 7 and 8 of the Sky Blue hue at any Sky Blue dyer you have already met.

Viewing the colors at a dyer
Owning the dye and consuming it is only half the process. To actually see the dark Sky Blue shades on your gear, you have to visit a dyer who handles the Sky Blue hue. Two options exist.
Step 1: Fast-travel or ride to the Delesyia Dyehouse, located just west of the City of Delesyia. Speak with Castiel, the Sky Blue dyer. Selecting any piece of dyeable equipment opens the swatch screen for Sky Blue, where rows 1–8 will now be available if you have collected the matching bottles.

Step 2: If you have already unlocked Oliver the Dyer at Howling Hill in Hernand, you can also preview Sky Blue shades there. Oliver gains access to a hue only after you have visited the matching regional dyer, so you must speak with Castiel at least once before Oliver will offer Sky Blue.
Step 3: In the dyer interface, choose the gear slot you want to recolor, pick Sky Blue as the hue, then move the cursor through the rows. The preview model updates in real time, letting you see each individual shade before you confirm and pay the dye cost.

How to unlock Oliver the Dyer
Oliver is the only dyer who can apply every hue you have discovered in one place, which makes him the easiest way to compare shades across hues. He is gated behind camp progression rather than the main story.
Step 1: Reach Howling Hill in Hernand and complete the third upgrade to the Greymane Camp. Each upgrade requires resources delivered through Greymane-related side content.

Step 2: Complete the follow-up quest A Rumor at the Inksworth Bindery. Finishing it brings Oliver to Howling Hill as a permanent vendor.
Step 3: Speak with Oliver and select any dyeable item. Hues you have already met regional dyers for, including Sky Blue once you have visited Castiel, will appear in the hue selector with all consumed shades unlocked.

Confirming the unlock worked
After consuming the Dark Sky Blue Dye, open the dyer interface and look at the Sky Blue swatch. Rows 7 and 8 should display as selectable colored squares rather than locked greyed-out cells. If they still appear locked, you have collected the bottle but have not yet consumed it from your inventory.
If the entire Sky Blue swatch is greyed out at Oliver, you have not yet visited Castiel at the Delesyia Dyehouse. Travel there once, speak with him, and the hue becomes available across both dyers from that point on.
Crafting the dye yourself
Once you have unlocked the recipe by finding the bottle, the Dark Sky Blue Dye can be brewed at any cauldron using the Improvise option. The pigment portion is shared across every Sky Blue shade; only the beetle ratio changes the darkness.
| Ingredient | Quantity | Role |
|---|---|---|
| White Medicinal Herb | 10 | Sky Blue pigment |
| Blue Lavender | 10 | Sky Blue pigment |
| Longhorn Beetle | 1 | Lightens shade |
| Stag Beetle | 2 | Darkens shade |
Stag Beetles outnumber Longhorn Beetles in this recipe, which is what pushes the result into the dark rows rather than the lighter or deep ends of the hue. Both beetle types are found clinging to tree trunks at roughly shoulder height across Pywel.
