Crimson Desert: Restored Balance Quest Walkthrough

Restored Balance is one of the shortest faction quests in Crimson Desert. There is no fight, no puzzle, and no traversal challenge. The whole thing is a conversation with a grateful village chief, and it ends with a reward item dropping straight into your inventory.

Quick answer: Travel to the Dunguan Tree in Pailone, walk up to the villagers gathered at the altar, and speak with Eldan. The dialogue scene completes the quest and grants Trace of the Thunder God.

The objective text points you back to Windsong Peaks, but you do not have to return there. The quest is about reporting the outcome to the village that was affected by the Stormlord’s lightning, so everything happens in Pailone.

How to complete Restored Balance in Pailone

Open the map and look for the Restored Balance marker sitting next to the Dunguan Tree in Pailone. Set it as your active waypoint so the on-screen compass points you there while you ride or run in.

Follow the forest path toward the tree. The approach is calm and there is nothing hostile guarding the area, so you can walk in without preparing for a fight.

Head for the group of villagers standing around the altar beneath the large tree. Eldan is among them, and moving close enough to him starts the scene automatically.

Sit through the dialogue. Eldan thanks you for stopping the lightning and sparing the village from the Stormlord’s fury. Fast forward or pause controls are available on screen if you want to skip ahead.

How to confirm the quest is complete

When the scene ends, the Faction Quests panel flags Restored Balance as completed and the reward is handed over in the same prompt. That completion card is the only confirmation you need. If it does not appear, you are either standing too far from the villagers or the cutscene has not finished playing out.

Trace of the Thunder God reward

Trace of the Thunder God is the single reward for finishing Restored Balance, and it lands in your inventory the moment the quest closes out. You can open the inventory right there at the altar to inspect it before moving on.

Tip: if you are hunting for this quest in your log and cannot find it, check the Faction Quests tab rather than the main story list. It is tracked separately from Kliff’s main campaign, and the marker only shows up on the map once the quest is active.

That is the whole quest. Two minutes of travel, one conversation under the Dunguan Tree, and you walk away with Trace of the Thunder God and a village that is no longer under the Stormlord’s shadow.
