Bancho Grill replaces the sushi counter in Dave the Diver: In the Jungle, and it comes with a fresh stack of dishes built around freshwater fish, jungle fruit, herbs, and meat. Some plates are available the moment you open the Grill, while others need ingredients, research, villager ranks, or a VIP unlock before they appear on the menu.
Quick answer: A recipe unlocks once you meet its listed condition. Three drinks and salads are free by default, most fish get a grilled recipe the first time you catch the fish, and the larger soups, salads, and stir-fries unlock through Artisan Flame research, villager Rank Ups (Monkey and Bird-of-Paradise), or a VIP guest (Bonita).
How recipes unlock at Bancho Grill
Each dish has a single trigger that adds it to your menu. Once that trigger is met, the recipe stays available and can be served to customers. The unlock types break down like this.

You can confirm a recipe is live by opening the Grill’s menu screen. A newly unlocked dish appears in the cookable list, and any research requirement shows the Artisan Flame cost before you commit. If a dish does not show up, you have not met its full condition yet, such as a missing ingredient, an unspent Artisan Flame, or a villager rank that is still too low.
Default and grilled recipes (collect ingredients)
Papaya Salad, Coconut, and Mango Shake are open from the start with unlimited servings and no ingredient cost. Beyond those, almost every fish you pull from the lake gets a grilled recipe the first time you catch it. Steamed Tilapia with Calamansi and Steamed Tricolor Discus also unlock simply by collecting their ingredients.
