Where to find every Pink Coin in the Garden, Cliffs, and Castle, plus how many you need for the secret boss.

Pink Coins are a special currency in Chapter 5 of Deltarune, scattered across the Dark World inside pink chests and pink bells. You ring the bells or open the chests during platforming sections and statue puzzles, and every coin counts toward the Mystery Key that unlocks the chapter’s secret boss, Pink.

Quick answer: There are 19 Pink Coins total. You only need 10 to buy the Mystery Key from the Cliff Shop and reach the secret boss. The remaining coins are spent on items at the 7 Flowers shop after you defeat Pink, so you can miss several coins and still get the key.

How many Pink Coins you need

The Mystery Key costs 10 Pink Coins. Buy it from the pink shop near the Cliffs once you have enough, then use it on the locked Pink Door at the top of the castle to face the secret boss. Beating Pink opens a shop where you can spend coins on three items at three coins each, which is why the full set adds up to 19.

Tip: Get the 10 coins and buy the key first. Do not delay the secret boss route just to chase the extra coins for shop items. You can clean those up afterward.

How Pink Coins are hidden

Most coins sit a screen or two away from the teleport doors, just off the main path. Treat each door like a small hub: enter the area, check the side screens in every direction, then look for anything that seems out of reach. When a coin looks impossible to grab, the fix is almost never a better jump. You usually have to change the room first by hitting a statue to enter platforming mode, pushing figures onto pressure plates, or backtracking after you pick up a new movement option.

  • A coin or chest you can see but cannot reach from the front.
  • A statue that switches the room into 2D platforming mode.
  • A hanging bell or coin above the normal route.
  • A room Ralsei calls optional.
  • A group of statues you can push or knock off ledges.
  • A path that only opens after a new movement ability.

Garden Pink Coins

Pink bell near the top of the temple in the Garden
Climb the beanstalk and cross the temple roof for this coin. Image: Toby Fox

Pink bell above the temple: In platforming mode, go left of the temple and climb the beanstalk leaves to the top. Move right onto the temple roof, then jump right across two leaves. The pink bell sits at the end of the second leaf.

Pink bell at the end of the garden door

End of the garden door: While in platforming mode, hit the bell near the end of the garden door to claim this coin.

Chest from the Tropical Starwalker Bird

Tropical Starwalker Bird chest: From the Hopschef, enter platforming mode and head right, then beat the boss and keep going right. Climb the vines, move left until you can leave platforming mode, then enter the cave and pass through the dash gate. Dodge the stars the bird drops, then hit the bell at the end for a chest with the coin inside.

Top of the lake: Go left from the Hopschef and clear the flower puzzle without getting cut by the scissors. The coin waits inside a chest at the top of the lake in the next room.

Watering can route: At the Garden, grab the watering can near the scissors. Head to the far-left scissor square, move anti-clockwise, and exit left while using the watering can to create the path. Travel up to find the chest.

Shrine roof path: This one is easy to miss. From the shrine door, climb the leaves or vines to get above the normal route, then jump across the top toward the next screen instead of dropping back down.

Cliffs Pink Coins

Pink bell in a small alcove on the cliffs

Small alcove: After the first platforming section of the Cliffs, use Ralsei’s vine to reach the pink bell tucked in the alcove.

Pink coin under a waterfall

Under the waterfall: Do the vine platforming in the next room. At the end you will see the coin beneath a waterfall. Climb onto the vine under the water source so the falling water carries you straight down to it.

Pink bell in a cave after the windmill puzzle

After the windmill puzzle: In the room with two windmills, enter platforming mode and jump across the treetops to the right. Climb the wall while dodging the glowing swords, jump onto the tree, and activate the windmill to ride left. When it runs out of power, activate the second windmill to go right and drop onto the treetops, using Ralsei’s vine. Get off at the cave, head right, jump on the umbrella, and beat the boss on the upper level. The pink bell is to the right.

Dash gate near Seth and Aqua's room

Dash gate after Seth and Aqua: Once you have beaten Aqua and Seth, return to their room and re-use the dash gate just past it. Go into the next room and hit the bell for the coin.

Diner-side hanging coin: If you can see the coin near the diner route but cannot reach it, run right until you can enter platforming mode, then backtrack left. The path depends on the perspective change, not on forcing the jump from the normal screen.

Castle Pink Coins

Fox that turns into a chest in the castle

Fox that becomes a chest: Enter the cafe, take the northern doorway, ignore the fake Aqua, and open the northern door. Head to the door on the left and you will find a fox that turns into a chest with a coin.

Five-fox room chest: A separate fox route, found above Green’s Café, needs all five foxes. One is a bullet in the area to the right, one is a pot warrior you push off a ledge, one you chase in the pot room, one hides in a room toward the top-left of the pot warrior room, and one is a bouncing boulder in the room at the top right. For the disguised statue fox, look at the row of knights along the back and push the one with space on either side to the right to reveal a door. The fox inside the secret room turns into a pink chest.

Chest hidden behind a door in the castle

Chest behind the door: Go into the right room from the cafe, then the next room. You will see the shadow of a chest in the door. Open the door, walk around, and open the chest for the coin.

Terakota statue puzzle: Push all the Terakota statues off the ledges in the lower castle, then place them on the pressure plates behind them. This spawns a bridge leading to a pink chest. When you enter Asgore’s Castle, there is also an entrance on the right that opens only after you push down the statues and set them on the plates.

Bell reached after the elevator puzzle

After the elevator: Return to the room with the chest hidden behind the door, head down and left, and take the elevator. Solve the puzzle there, then enter platforming mode and reach the bell.

Blue’s room: After collecting the elevator bell, enter Blue’s room. Move right through a line of rooms, switching to platforming mode whenever you can, then clear the flower platforming at the end for the coin.

Pink bell guarded by giant shurikens

Giant shuriken bell: Leave platforming mode and head south. Keep going until you exit the golden gate, then enter the blue one. Switch to platforming mode and head west, dodging the giant shurikens to reach the pink bell.

Pink vase: Back inside the castle at the sliding puzzle, enter the orange gate and switch to platforming mode. Go into the left room, up the ledges, and right. Redirect a boxing glove from the flower into the pink vase to shatter it and free the coin.

Second sliding puzzle: Return to where the fox became a chest, go up the stairs this time, and head left. Solve the sliding puzzle and use Ralsei’s vine to ring the bell.

Mushroom transport puzzle: Place two mushrooms in their marked spots quickly, before a fox shows up and eats them. Once both are set, open the chest for the coin.

The final platforming coins

Bell after a hard platforming challenge

Hard platforming bell: This bell sits at the end of a string of tough platforming challenges that need both Susie and Ralsei to clear.

Falling-descent coin: For the last coin, use the blue flower to launch across to the other part of the room. You then slowly descend while dodging obstacles. When you reach the ground, hit the pink bell to collect the final coin.

One coin also sits just right of the Pink Door, which requires vertical (platforming) mode to reach. That Pink Door at the top of the castle is the same spot where the secret boss appears once you own the Mystery Key.

Where to spend Pink Coins

Take your coins to the pink shop by the Cliffs. With 10 in hand, buy the Mystery Key, then use it on the Pink Door. If the teleport doors are not active yet, keep progressing until backtracking opens up. Cutting the giant hedge at the front of the castle and watering the sprout helps activate the door network, which makes returning to earlier areas much faster.

After you defeat Pink, the remaining coins are spent on items from the 7 Flowers. If you are short on a specific coin, retrace what blocked it: too high points to platforming, jumping, or hanging; a walled-off chest points to statues and pressure plates; a strange room usually means foxes or a hidden interaction. Recheck the weird rooms first, since that is almost always where a missing coin is sitting.
