The 3.2.0 Public Test Realm forms the base for Diablo 4 Season 15, and Blizzard is using it to trial a batch of new systems before the season goes live. It is a deliberately partial preview, with the headline seasonal content held back for BlizzCon, but you can still get hands-on with Soul Splinters, Challenge Dungeons, the reworked Mythic crafting, and the long-requested Rebirth feature.
Quick answer: The Diablo 4 3.2.0 PTR runs from August 4 at 10:00 a.m. PDT to August 11 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. It is PC only through Battle.net. To join, open Battle.net, select Diablo 4, switch the version selector above the Play button to Public Test Realm, install the client, then create a Seasonal character to test the new content.
Release time: August 4, 2026, 10:00 a.m. PDT
PTR dates, platform, and what is testable
The test window is a single week. Both the Eternal and Seasonal Realms are available inside the PTR, so you can try the changes on a fresh character or on carried-over gear. None of it is final, which is the entire point of a test realm. Blizzard collects feedback, tunes balance, and squashes bugs before Season 15 launches.

Access runs through the Battle.net launcher. PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate users can also join by opening Battle.net through the Xbox App. The steps are the same in both cases.
Note: The PTR vendor Mrak sits next to the main Waypoint in major cities and hands out gold, materials, all Runes, maxed Aspects, all Uniques, maxed Glyphs, a level 70 boost, Paragon 200, all Torment tiers, and seasonal items including the Soul Splinters, so you can start testing without grinding.
Soul Splinters, the new socketable mechanic
Soul Splinters are the headline addition on the test realm. They socket into jewelry and behave like a modern take on legendary gems. Each one grants elemental or physical resistance plus a strong signature bonus that comes with an equally sharp drawback. They drop in five rarities (Common, Magic, Rare, Legendary, and Unique) and can be upgraded in the Horadric Cube.

| Splinter | Resistance | Bonus and drawback |
|---|---|---|
| Splinter of Anguish | Fire (250/1750/2625/4375) | 15/20/25/35%[+] Crit Chance and Attack Speed; Primary Resource costs +30% |
| Splinter of Sin | Lightning (250/1750/2625/4375) | 10/20/30/40%[x] Max Health; Max Primary Resource -30% |
| Splinter of Lies | Cold (250/1750/2625/4375) | 40/60/80/100% Gold and Crafting Material drop, +25% XP; always Weakened and Vulnerable |
| Splinter of the Black Soulstone | 7/20/30/50 All Stats | Kills absorb a soul (15s), each +2/3/4/5%[x] damage but +0.5% damage taken; stacks, no refresh |
| Splinter of Pain | Poison (250/1750/2625/4375) | 10/20/30/40% Damage Reduction; -30% Movement Speed |
| Splinter of the Mother | Physical (250/1750/2625/4375) | Unhindered, touched enemies Vulnerable 10s; after 100/150/200/250 touches, Stunned 4s |
| Splinter of Hellfire | All Elements (35/50/375/625) | 40/60/80/100%[x] increased damage; lose 100% Crit Chance |
| Splinter of Damnation | Shadow (250/1750/2625/4375) | Killing an Elite pack raises Monster Power by 1 for 10/15/20/25s |
The Splinter of Hellfire is the one high-risk builds will chase. Dropping critical strikes entirely hands you up to 100%[x] damage, and pairing it with the Splinter of Lies for permanent Weakened and Vulnerable status opens up a whole class of glass-cannon setups.
Challenge Dungeons and Overland Ambush
Challenge Dungeons appear as portals scattered across the Overland. Step through one and you fight a powerful boss. On Torment difficulties you set how hard the encounter is, up to three Torment tiers above your current level, and the rewards scale with that choice. Blizzard is clear that the PTR fights exist only to test the underlying system, so the live Season 15 versions will feature different content.
Overland Ambush adds a second open-world threat. While roaming, a rare demon will occasionally start hunting you. A warning pops up, then you have 30 seconds to fight or flee. These are built to be genuinely dangerous, so riding through Sanctuary unprepared no longer comes free.
Legacy Uniques from Diablo 1, 2, and 3
Ten Uniques from earlier Diablo games are returning as permanent additions across all versions of Diablo 4. Five work on every class, and five are restricted to a mix of classes. Their signature powers stay reminiscent of the originals but have been adjusted to fit current itemization. Leoric’s Crown, for example, now counts as Jewelry and boosts any socketed gem by 75 to 100 percent.
| Unique | Slot | Classes |
|---|---|---|
| Leoric’s Crown | Helm | All |
| Nemesis Bracers | Gloves | All |
| Ring of Royal Grandeur | Ring | All |
| Stone of Jordan | Ring | All |
| Squirt’s Blouse | Chest | All |
| Arioc’s Needle | 2H Polearm | Barbarian, Druid, Spiritborn |
| Henri’s Perquisition | Offhand Focus | Sorcerer, Necromancer, Warlock |
| In-Geom | 1H Sword | Barbarian, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock |
| The Furnace | 2H Mace | Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock |
| Messerschmidt’s Reaver | 2H Axe | Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock (Season 15 only, not on PTR) |
Mythic crafting becomes deterministic
The biggest source of frustration in the current season gets a direct fix. The routes to making Mythics stay the same, but the results are far more predictable, and the ultra-rare Iconic Mythics become much easier to obtain earlier.
| Method | Result | Crafted tag |
|---|---|---|
| Horadric Cube: Upgrade Direct Item to Mythic | Exact 1:1 transfer keeping affixes, tempering, and masterworking. More expensive; cannot be used on unmodifiable items | Yes, and only one Crafted item can be equipped at a time |
| Jeweler: Rune Crafting | Combine Resplendent Sparks and Runes, pick a slot, get a random class-specific Mythic Unique for it | No |
| Blacksmith: Mythic Cache | Grants a Mythic Unique or Iconic Mythic usable by your class | No |
Because the direct Cube upgrade is a true transfer, an ideal non-Mythic Unique with strong greater-affix rolls becomes worth keeping again, since those stats carry over. One warning: do not Transfigure a candidate you plan to upgrade later, because the recipe will not accept an unmodifiable item. Every Iconic Mythic will also gain a regular Unique version, so build-defining pieces such as Harlequin’s Crest and Melted Heart of Selig land within reach much sooner, albeit in a slightly weaker form.
Charms are getting a Mythic tier too. Any Unique Charm has a low chance to drop as a Mythic Unique Charm, rolling maximum values with a significantly buffed Unique property. There is no crafting method and no way to target farm them, though you can test them through the PTR vendor Mrak. Sixteen new Unique Charms are also being added, including versions for eight of the ten legacy Uniques.
Rebirth: bring Eternal characters into the season
Rebirth lets you carry an existing Eternal character onto the Seasonal Realm instead of rolling a brand-new one each season. The character resets to level 1 but keeps its identity, and the game tracks a running total of hours played across all of its Rebirths.

Rebirth keeps the class, name, appearance, and state (Normal or Hardcore), along with cosmetic preferences such as transmogs, pigments, mounts, accessories, pets, portals, and headstones. Progression and equipment reset as normal.
Important: move all gear and items into your Eternal stash before starting. The game warns you that anything left equipped or in personal inventory will be lost, and Rebirth will not begin at all while the character is still carrying something. You will know it worked when the character appears on the Seasonal Realm at level 1 with its name and cosmetics intact.
The Horadric Post
The Horadric Post is a new one-way delivery channel that sends rewards, supplies, and commemorative items straight to your account. You cannot send anything to other players. During the PTR you receive an early commemorative reward so the delivery system can be tested ahead of Season 15.
Treat everything here as an early look rather than the finished season. Balance is still moving, Barbarian is taking notable nerfs while Warlock picks up the largest buffs, and the marquee Season 15 mechanic stays under wraps until BlizzCon. The PTR is your one-week window to try the systems and send feedback before any of it locks in.
