Disney Dreamlight Valley: Grown-Up Things Quest Walkthrough

Every step to finish Winnie the Pooh's first Friendship quest, from the dress code to the Butterfly Key.

Every step to finish Winnie the Pooh’s first Friendship quest, from the dress code to the Butterfly Key.

Grown-Up Things is Winnie the Pooh’s first Friendship quest, added with the Honeyglow Woods Adventure Pack in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Pooh wants to find out what “grown-up work” looks like, which turns into tidying his home, chasing a paper butterfly around Drowsybloom Acre, and fishing a hidden chest out from under his bed. Every objective is deterministic, so the run comes down to knowing which items to gather and in what order.

Quick answer: Wear one elegant, one black, and one professional item, then clear the corrupted Honey Swirls in Drowsybloom Acre and Pooh’s House to recover the toys, decorate the yard with a Honeyglow Flower Pot plus fences and paths, use a Driftwood on the chest under the bed, and follow the Toy Butterfly to the Butterfly Key to open it.

How to start Grown-Up Things

The quest becomes available once Winnie the Pooh has moved into the Valley. Speak to him to begin, and he’ll ask you to dress the part before anything else. Open your quest journal and set Grown-Up Things as your tracked quest so the objective markers appear on the correct characters and locations.

Head to your wardrobe. You need an outfit that hits three separate tags at the same time. Any single garment can cover more than one requirement, but between everything you wear you must satisfy all three.
RequirementExample item
ElegantAny elegant-tagged piece
BlackBlack Fitness Watch
ProfessionalBlack Rectangular Glasses
Use the wardrobe’s search filters to sort by Professional and by Black, which makes qualifying accessories easy to spot. Once your outfit covers elegant, black, and professional, return to Pooh and talk to him about your grown-up look to advance.

Find the Beach Toys, Toy Car, and Toy Butterfly

Pooh treats cleaning up as a grown-up task. Your job is to recover his lost toys from Drowsybloom Acre, which are trapped inside corrupted Honey Swirls.

Travel to Drowsybloom Acre and clear the corrupted Honey Swirls scattered across the biome. Two of them differ from the rest because you can see the toy inside them. Clearing those reveals the Beach Toys (a bucket and shovel) and the Toy Car on the ground. Pick up both.

Next, catch the Toy Butterfly fluttering around the same biome. Sprint after it and interact with it to grab it. If it keeps outrunning you, eat a Honeyglow Woods dish to gain the gliding ability, which lets you close the gap much faster.

Craft a Honeyglow Flower Pot and decorate the yard

With the toys collected, the next stage is dressing up the front yard. You need one Honeyglow Flower Pot, and any of the four color variants counts. Each pot shares the same Golden Honey base and differs only in its thistle and foxglove colors, so build whichever one matches the flowers you already have.

Flower PotMaterials
Pink1 White Thistle, 1 White & Pink Foxglove, 1 Golden Honey
Purple1 Purple Thistle, 1 Purple & White Foxglove, 1 Golden Honey
Red1 Red Thistle, 1 Rose & Cream Foxglove, 1 Golden Honey
Yellow1 Yellow Thistle, 1 Yellow & Orange Foxglove, 1 Golden Honey

The thistles and foxgloves are foraged anywhere across Honeyglow Woods, and Golden Honey is harvested from your Busy Bees’ House.

At any crafting station, open the Winnie the Pooh recipe tab, select a Honeyglow Flower Pot, and make it.

Enter furniture mode in Drowsybloom Acre and place the flower pot, plus 12 pieces of any fence and 12 pieces of any path. Placement is free-form, and you can remove everything afterward, so exact positioning does not matter. When the yard is set, talk to Pooh about your grown-up work so far.

Tidy Pooh’s House and stock the Toy Shelf

Go inside Pooh’s House and clear the corrupted Honey Swirl sitting in the middle of the room. This releases the final lost toy.
Return all the toys to their shelves. Interact with the four sparkling Toy Shelf spots around the room to place the Beach Toys, Toy Car, Toy Butterfly, and the newly found toy in their correct slots. The counter tracks progress up to 4.

Retrieve the hidden chest with a Driftwood

Once the toys are shelved, a Hidden Treasure prompt appears beneath Pooh’s bed. The hint reads, “A certain stick should work here,” which points to a specific material rather than a tool.

Talk to Pooh about the thing stuck under the bed, then approach the sparkling spot on the side of the bed. When the item slot opens, insert a piece of Driftwood to pry the object loose. A locked green-and-gold chest spawns next to the bed.
Talk to Pooh again about the locked chest, then pick up the Toy Butterfly from its shelf and bring it to him. Head outside and follow the butterfly this time rather than chasing it. It flies across Drowsybloom Acre and lands near a fence by the river, close to the wishing well, where it drops the Butterfly Key. Collect both the key and the Toy Butterfly.

Go back into Pooh’s House, interact with the locked chest, and select the Butterfly Key from your inventory to open it. The reward, Pooh’s Little Honey Picture, lands in your inventory inside a furniture sack, so open the sack to receive it.

Confirm the quest is complete

Talk to Winnie the Pooh one final time about the toy-filled adventure. The dialogue closes out the storyline, and Grown-Up Things is then marked Complete and drops off your active quest list. If it is still sitting in your journal, one objective remains open, so re-read the tracked step to see exactly what the game is waiting on.

From here, Pooh’s questline continues with The Backwards Day, and there is plenty more to tackle around Honeyglow Woods, from taming an Acorn Snail to crafting the region’s blueprints.
