Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen – Where Ilda and Aymond Set Up Shop in Northwall Campground

Aymond, the hooded travelling merchant, at Northwall Campground

Two of Norgan’s merchants are not where the game last left them. After you help Ilda leave the Norgandian Settlement, and after you reunite the soldier Amos with the stranger who saved him, both traders settle into the same cave camp in the north of the region.

Quick answer: Both Ilda and Aymond trade at Northwall Campground in northern Norgan. Finish Flight in the Night to open Ilda’s shop and The Stranger in the Snowfield to open Aymond’s, then fast-travel to the camp’s portcrystal.

How to reach Northwall Campground

Northwall Campground serves as the commission’s cave camp and has a dedicated fast-travel stone. Its map label is Norgan Portcrystal: Northwall Campground. Arriving there puts you outdoors in the snow, beside a tall blue crystal mounted on a stone base among boulders.

The campground’s portcrystal stands outside in the snow, on a stone base among boulders.

A riftstone is a few steps to the east.

Leave the portcrystal and head west-south-west for several steps until you reach the cave entrance; barrels are piled along its left side. Crossing the threshold displays the location name “Northwall Campground”. For reference, the camp’s portcrystal is roughly one kilometre north and about 200 metres west of the Norgandian Settlement’s portcrystal.

A cooking pot sits on a tripod over the campfire, and the soldier Morgus is at this camp by the fire.

Ilda’s shop: unlock and location

Ilda starts out living in the Norgandian Settlement, where she hands you the side quests Oh, to Be in Vermund and Flight in the Night. Flight in the Night ends by escorting her to the scholar Polyeidus at the Sealed Study, where she says she will gather materials for the soldiers and open a shop of sorts. Once that quest is done, she is gone from the settlement.

Don’t search for her at the Sealed Study after the quest, or at her former home in the settlement. On a later visit, look for her at Northwall Campground, standing by the stone wall beside the campfire with a lantern in hand.

Ilda stands with her lantern by the rock wall next to the campfire; the prompt reads “F Hail (Hold to Talk)”.

Walk up to her until “F Hail (Hold to Talk)” appears. Hold the key down rather than tapping it to bring up the menu: Buy, Sell, Talk, and Cancel. Choosing “Talk” gets a few comments about settling in with the commission, but doesn’t start anything.

Her Buy screen lists eight rows under Seller’s Wares. These are the things she collected on the night walk during Flight in the Night: salmon, winterweed blossom, coldstools and frigid fungi.

Aymond the merchant: unlock and location

Aymond is a hooded peddler on the road, carrying a lantern and an oversized pack. You first meet him through the side quest The Stranger in the Snowfield, which the soldier Amos starts by himself at Northwall Campground some days after you rescued him in The Truant Soldier.

Finding Aymond in the Norgan Snowfield

Follow the quest’s search area out into the Norgan Snowfield. The task reads “Track down Amos’s savior” while you look.
Make your way toward the small cave in that area. The objective updates to “Go after the stranger”, and inside you will find Aymond with Bugaboos around him.
Speak with him. In this cave he only talks; there is no shop menu here. After the talk the line reads “You passed on Amos’s message to the merchant”, then “Visit Amos at the campground.”

Do not expect to trade with Aymond in the snowfield cave. He has no menu there.

Where Aymond trades at the camp

Return to Northwall Campground and he is standing beside Amos at the back wall of the cave, to the left of the storage chest. The quest wraps up there with the line “Amos and Aymond thanked you for your aid”, and the reward lands as +30,000 XP and 15,000 G. From that point on he sells from this spot.

As with Ilda, walk up and hold the “F Hail (Hold to Talk)” key to open Buy, Sell, Talk, and Cancel.

The Norgan Ducat is worth noting: its description says Dwayne will trade various rewards for one. So one ducat can simply be bought here.

Once the main quest titled The Castle in the Ice is complete, Aymond appears in the Norgandian Settlement near Hal’s forge. He approaches and begins a conversation unprompted, asking where he could find a gagana. After hearing about Gagana’s Grotto, he thanks you and heads toward the village’s eastern side. No quest starts then.

Checking you did it right

A tap of the key only hails: hold it on Ilda and her menu with Buy opens. For Aymond, the confirmation is the quest completing at the camp with the thank-you line and the XP and gold reward, after which the same Buy, Sell, Talk, Cancel menu appears when you hold the key on him by the storage chest. On either shop screen, scroll down the Seller’s Wares list and read the stock count printed beneath each item’s picture to confirm what you can buy.
