Drain the Lake Class Tier List (July 2026)

Where all nine classes land, from the fill-speed Scooper down to the mostly cosmetic Runner, with costs and perks.

Classes in Drain the Lake decide how fast your bucket fills, how much water you carry, and how much loot you pull out of the lake. Some hand you a real gameplay edge, others just tweak farming rates, and a few barely move the needle at all. Nine are available right now, and the gap between the best and the worst is wide enough to change how quickly you reach the phone at the bottom.

Quick answer: Equip the Scooper for instant-fill chance or the Hauler for extra bucket capacity. These two S-tier classes cost only 2.5K and 2K Diamonds and give the largest run-to-run speed gains. Skip the Diver, Fishman, and Runner unless you want their niche movement or swim perks.

Full class tier list

Placement reflects how much a class actually speeds up the drain loop, not how much it costs. Bucket fill speed and bucket capacity carry the most weight, since both directly cut the time per trip. Pure farming perks rank lower because Tokens and Diamonds are already easy to earn through normal play. There is no C or F tier here, since every class still beats running with no class equipped.

Why the Scooper and Hauler sit at the top

The Scooper and Hauler win because they touch the two stats that matter most in every single run. The Scooper stacks a chance to instantly fill your bucket, which at Level 3 climbs to a combined 21% chance to skip the fill entirely. That removes waiting time you spend on every trip.

The Hauler goes the other direction and boosts bucket capacity, reaching +21 capacity by Level 3. More water per trip means fewer trips to the drain station. Both are among the cheapest classes in the game, so the value per Diamond is hard to beat. Pairing either one with a strong bucket turns most playthroughs into a routine climb toward the phone.

Note: classes gain levels by earning XP, which you build up simply by playing with the class equipped.

A-tier: strong, but built around farming or friends

The A-tier trio is genuinely good, yet each comes with a catch that keeps it below the top two. The Crewmate has the highest raw bonus in the game, adding bucket fill speed for every friend playing alongside you, but it does nothing solo and is expensive to unlock. The Prospector is the best Token farmer with up to a 34% chance for double Tokens, though Tokens rarely become a bottleneck. The Treasure Hunter is the strongest Diamond farmer, but it is the priciest class and offers no direct gameplay speed.

B-tier: the Fisherman

The Fisherman lands one rung below the farming classes. It adds a chance for bonus Tokens when you fill your bucket, reaching up to a 21% chance at Level 3, and it carries a rock-bottom price of 1250 Diamonds. The problem is that Tokens are easy to earn without help, so the perk is nice but never essential. Other farming classes simply do more with their bonuses.

D-tier: skip these unless you want the niche perk

The bottom three all offer bonuses that sound fine but rarely change how a run plays out. The Runner walks faster, the Fishman swims longer, and the Diver improves your odds of the shark ignoring you. Dodging sharks is already easy, extra movement speed is a minor comfort, and swim stamina only matters in specific moments. The Diver is the worst offender because it charges 3K Diamonds for a perk you seldom need.

How to unlock classes and what they cost

Classes are bought from the Class Shop on the left side of the lobby, and every one is paid for with Diamonds. You earn Diamonds by opening chests, diving as deep into the lake as you can, and redeeming Badge rewards. If you would rather not grind, Diamonds can also be purchased with Robux through the shop panels marked by the plus buttons on the left side of the lobby.

A higher price does not mean a better class here. The 12K-Diamond Treasure Hunter sits below the 2.5K Scooper and 2K Hauler, so spend based on what a class does for your drain loop, not on what it costs. You can start playing and check every current price directly inside Drain the Lake on Roblox.

These rankings reflect the class lineup and stats as of July 2026. Rankings are based on how much each class speeds up the fill-and-drain loop, weighed against its unlock cost, so placements can shift if a future update changes perk values or adds new classes. For most players, the fastest path to the phone is a leveled Scooper or Hauler paired with a strong bucket, with the farming classes reserved for when Diamonds or Tokens are the specific thing holding you back.
