Dressmaker: How to Unlock All 32 Achievements

Dressmaker hands out 32 achievements, and almost all of them land in your lap just by working through the game’s 53 sewing orders. A handful need deliberate planning, and exactly one can be lost forever if you click the wrong line of dialogue. Here is every condition, grouped by the kind of work each one takes.

Quick answer: Complete each of the ten clients’ full commission chains, all 14 event dress sets, the eight pigeon commissions, Vivian’s leech line, and five crafting challenges.

How achievements register in Dressmaker

Most achievements pop the moment their condition is met. A client chain clears when you hand in that character’s final major commission. An event achievement usually unlocks the next in-game day, when the newspaper report on that occasion lands at your front desk. A failed dress still counts for story and event unlocks, so you do not need a clean run to progress.

Story and pigeon achievements are audited whenever a save is made, so offline progress registers on the next save with Steam running. The five dress challenges and the leech dialogue behave differently: they trigger only at the moment you complete them. If you miss that moment, you need to recreate the conditions.

After the ending and credits you return to the front desk with your shop intact, which means pigeon commissions and dress challenges can be mopped up at your own pace once the story is done.

Client commission chains (10 achievements)

Ten achievements each ask you to finish one character’s entire run of major commissions. The chains vary in length from four orders to seven, and the achievement fires when you hand in the last one. The table below lists the final commission that trips each unlock.

And the rest: Adora (Sporting Chance, Secret Art Critic, Moonlight Wanderer, Daring Heist, Crowning Glory); Vivian (Nocturnal Glamour, Art Appreciator, Comfortable Coffin, Midnight Warrior, Dark Emissary); Edith (Biographer’s Interview, Phoenix Costume, Carrot Promotion, Another Encore, World Stage); Priya (Fierce Funeral, Exhibition Opening, Artistic Retreat, Maid of Honour, Constellation Inspiration, Sewn in the Stars); Prudence (Flamboyant Funeral, Undercover Servant, Floral Romance, Secret Gallery Visit, Never the Bride, Sudden Departure, Painted Dream).

Event dress achievements (14 achievements)

To earn an event achievement, collect every outfit tied to that occasion, not just the one that appears most important. Requests with a shared theme from several clients may belong to the same event, so complete the whole group before continuing. Only the full set is required; your score does not matter. Each achievement becomes available after you complete its story commission listed below.

You’ve Got Mail and the pigeon commissions

You’ve Got Mail unlocks when you finish Dorothy’s first dress, Pigeon Adoption, the 10th story commission, and acquire Berty. It lands long before Dorothy’s full chain, so treat it as its own goal.

The pigeon takes flight after Pigeon Adoption and delivers 24 orders for ten clients in a set sequence. Birds of a Feather, Frock Together requires just the eight commissions listed below. It tracks completion separately, so completing the named story chains won’t satisfy it. If a client is still waiting for a dress, the pigeon skips them; deliver that client’s current order first.

Sucker for Punishment: the only missable achievement

Vivian’s pigeon commission Exotic Moth appears after you finish Love Labyrinth. During its briefing she asks which animal you associate with her. Pick A leech, and the achievement unlocks the instant you choose it.

She makes this request only once. If you accidentally choose the fox or the bunny rabbit, saving and quitting lets you reverse the choice, but only if you do it before confirming the customer’s measurements. After confirming them, your only chance is to replay up to that commission on another save.

Five crafting and spending challenges

The remaining five reward deliberate excess rather than story progress. The game tests them whenever a dress leaves your workshop, whether you deliver it as a commission, sell it, or give it as a gift. Because four of them burn money and materials for no in-game benefit, they are easiest to attempt late, once your finances can absorb the waste.

For 99 Problems, each fabric piece and sewn seam must reach 100%. Cut all pieces on the straight grain and sew each seam precisely. Fit isn’t checked, so the client’s measurements have no bearing on the result. Sew Long requires the Ruffle Skirt pattern, which Priya makes available at friendship level 3. Alice’s Gathered Tiered Ruffle Skirt, unlocked at level 2, doesn’t qualify.

Harder than it Seams counts accessories priced per item, so begin with a shopping trip. Trim sold by the metre won’t work as a substitute: its length is what Trim and Proper measures. For Opulence and Excess, a single garment needs fabric and accessories worth 5,000 gold at shop prices.

One dress for all five challenges

You can clear every dress challenge on a single garment built from the sketchbook’s New Dress tab, which opens after Fierce Funeral. Buy everything up front, finish the dress, then sell it. A quality 50 or higher sale returns at least what the accessories cost, so the trick is close to free.

The accessories and trim add up to 5,225 coins. If you need more money, hold off until the final commission, Peerless Dressmaker, which pays 50,000.

Confirming the full 32

Look for the on-screen unlock when you turn in a client’s final commission, sell the loaded dress, or reach 100% quality. Finish all ten client chains, 14 event sets, eight pigeon commissions, the leech line, and five crafting challenges to earn every achievement; no random grinding remains. If a story or pigeon achievement doesn’t appear because you played offline, it registers on your next save with Steam running.
