Drone Defense 2: How to Get 2x Match Speed (Free and VIP)

Match speed controls how quickly waves play out in Drone Defense 2, and doubling it lets you clear rounds and grind rewards in half the time. There are two ways to unlock the 2x match speed buff, and only one of them costs Robux.

Quick answer: Buy the VIP gamepass from the in-game Store for 160 to get 2x match speed instantly, or get it for free by using an Eldritch Key to open the locked door inside the supply bunker and talking to the NPC in Uzi’s Perks.

The two ways to unlock 2x match speed

The paid route is instant and bundles extra perks, while the free route asks you to reach an enhancement shop hidden behind a locked door. Both end with the same 2x match speed buff.

Get 2x match speed with the VIP gamepass

This is the fastest option if you don’t mind spending Robux. The VIP gamepass applies the buff the moment you own it, with no in-game steps to complete.

Open Drone Defense 2 and select the Store button from the lobby menu. Switch to the Gamepasses section to see the purchasable options.

Select the VIP gamepass, priced at 160. Its description confirms it grants “2x Match Speed! +10% Cash! VIP Chat Tag! Gold Name Tag!”

Complete the purchase. The 2x match speed buff, cash bonus and tags are active immediately, so there is nothing else to activate.

Get 2x match speed for free at Uzi’s Perks

The free route runs through the supply bunker and ends at an enhancement shop called Uzi’s Perks. You will need an Eldritch Key to pass the locked door that guards the shop.

From the lobby, walk over to the Worker Defense Force NPC. Talking to this NPC is what gives you entry to the supply bunker.

Enter the bunker and follow the path to the sealed central door. A prompt reads “You need a Eldritch Key to open this door!” if you approach without one.

Use the Eldritch Key to unlock the door and step through into the enhancement shop, Uzi’s Perks.

Speak to the NPC inside Uzi’s Perks and acquire the 2x match speed ability from the shop. This grants the same speed boost as the VIP gamepass without any Robux.

How to confirm it worked and common blockers

You will know the buff is active because waves progress at double their normal pace once you start a match. VIP owners also see the gold name tag and VIP chat tag as visible proof the pass applied.

If the free method does not complete, the usual reason is the door itself. Without an Eldritch Key in your inventory the central bunker door stays locked and you cannot reach Uzi’s Perks, so secure the key before making the trip.
