Sulfur is a crafting material tied to roughly 60 recipes across the Bard, Alchemist, Coloring Station and Hunter tables in Enshrouded. The two reliable sources are mineral deposits in the desert and drops from Scavengers.

Quick answer: Travel to the Kindlewastes, drop into the red-rock canyons, and mine the bright yellow deposits on the cliffs and cave walls with a pickaxe.

Mine Sulfur deposits in the Kindlewastes

A pickaxe strike yields several Sulfur, along with some Sandstone from the nearby rock.

Use the map to travel quickly to an unlocked Ancient Spire or altar beside the red canyons.

Farm Sulfur from Scavengers

Most Scavenger types also drop Sulfur, which makes clearing their camps a useful second source while you explore the desert. The drop chance and amount depend on the type.

You may also find Sulfur on Scavenger corpses scattered across the world, particularly in the Kindlewastes, so search them when you come across them. The same Scavengers are also a source of Torn Cloth.

What Sulfur is used for

In-game, the material reads: “An important material and basic chemical ingredient found in nature. It can be used to make bright orange and red dyes.” Beyond dyes at the Coloring Station, it feeds a wide spread of crafting recipes.

  • Shroud Meteor (Alchemist): 1 Mist of a Fell Sicklescythe, 5 Nitrate, 20 Coal Powder, 20 Stone, 5 Sulfur = 50.
  • Pillar Of Flames II (Alchemist): For 20, combine 1 Iron Bars, 5 Sulfur, and 5 Lapislazuli.
  • Light Burst (Alchemist): Make 50 using 5 Sulfur, a Mist of a Fell Sicklescythe, Coal Powder, and Lapislazuli.
  • Poisoned Iron Arrows (Hunter): Make 25 from 2 Sulfur, 25 Iron Arrows, and 1 Poison Sack.
  • Ghost Glider (Carpenter): 3 Shroud Wood, 2 Fabric, 4 Enshrouded Oil, 1 Sulfur, 1 String.
  • Fire Bolt V, crafted by hand: 20 requires 4 Sulfur and 4 Lapislazuli.

Sulfur cannot be crafted, so every piece comes from the deposits or from Scavengers.
